Chapter 12 - Promotion Battles(2)

"Please send out your next Pokemon," Ref said.

The Examiner looked at Trent with a smile " Go Unfezant" A dark grey bird appeared with a ribbon on its face.

Potential: Elite

Type: Normal / Flying

Abilities: Super Luck

Gender: Male

"Begin"

"Unfezant use Swagger" the pokemon showed causing the Rapidash to get confused and charge at it.

"Rapidash Snap out of it" Rapidash continued ignoring Trent

"Unfezant take to the air and use air slash" as it took to the air its wings glowed sending out a slash of wind.

"Thud" The Rapidash took the hit head on causing it to fly back hitting the ground hard.

"Rapidash!"

"Unfezant end it with Hurricane" Unfezant beats its wings causing a small tornado with rocks from the previous battle to fly around it as well and then toss it towards the Rapidash.

"Rapidash use Firespin" Rapidash gets up using the last bit of energy and forms a vortex of fire and throws it at the Unfezant.

Because of the winds of the Hurricane, the vortex becomes its own tornado causing both tornadoes to clash.

"Boom!" An explosion occurred causing heavy smoke on the field

A few seconds later Unfezant shot out the smoke with some burn all over its feathers.

As the smoke, some more Rapidash was on the floor knocked out.

"Rapidash is unable to battle Trent send out your next pokemon," Ref said

"Good job," Trent said returning Rapidash to its ball.

"Amazing!" Jade yelled.

"What a Battle" I said.

"Zack you analyze the battle like Xavier did last time" Rebecca said.

Zack looked at her and then nodded" Well the examiner caught on to the fact that his Rapidash is newly evolved because of this he used its proudness and arrogance against it causing it to rage. Trent didn't have enough time to train its mental fortitude but even though he didn't train it shouldn't have affected it to that point, so I believe the Unfezant has the ability Super Luck to causing it to have more of an effect".

We all nodded ' I was surprised the only reason I knew it had that ability was because of my gold finger the fact he was able to analyze that pokemon ability through one battle is amazing' I thought.

Zack Continued" With all that Trent was able to recover and took advantage of the surrounding causing some good damage on the Unfezant this show his great battle awareness".

"You missed something," Noah said.

What would that be "Zack said looking at Noah?

"The examiner Unfezant is burned " Noah answered nonchalantly

"Zack Its look like you need to study more" Travis with an evil smile

Zack's face turned grave and he put his head down.

Noah Continued" Even though his Unfezant is burned he is not worried which means he has a plan this next battle might not be easy."

Trent took out a Pokeball and threw it with a little bit of swag " Pyroar let's finished this" A majestic blue eye lion appeared with a red and yellow mane.

"ROAR!"

Its Roar caused the Unfezant to stagger back a little.

"Begin!"

"Unfezant use roost" Unfezant flew to the ground and some of its feathers started to come off. Where the old fell the new one grew rejuvenating the pokemon,

"Pyroar use Snatch" Pyroar rushed to Unfezant at blistering speed some dark energy wrapped around its Claws.

"Unfezant Use Endure" wrapped its wings around its body trying to protect itself

Pyrorar hit the bird causing it to fly black but it stood its ground only moving back a couple of meters.

Trent didn't let off the gas " Pyroar Flamethrower" A bursting flame comes shooting out of Pyroar's mouth.

"Unfezant Substitute" A big doll appears in front of the Unfezant taking the attack.

After the Pyroar Flamethrowers stopped the doll disappeared

"Unfezant fly " the pokemon was about to take off, but when it was about to take off it couldn't shocking the examiner.

Trent smiled " Pyroar Flare Blitz " Pyroar rushed to the faulting Unfezant with his body covered in flames it looked like streak red thunder.

"Unfezant don't give Up Giga Impact!!" white energy wrapped around Unfezant as shot out with feet like arrows released from the bow.

"Boom!" The whole stadium shook from the clash causing another smoke storm.

After the smoke cleared only one pokemon was left standing.

"Unfezant is unable to battle Trent Taylor wins.

There were applauses and exclaims from the crowd.

"What a battle"

" It looks like the Taylor really has new genius"

"He beat Hugo's record"

"How long do you think it will take him to reach 4 stars"

In the private room, everyone but Blake was clapping including me.

"I can't wait until I become a trainer" Jade excitedly her face sticking to the mirror.

"Hahaha" Both Adam & Travis laugh

"Blake how did he win, "Rebecca asked blake who had no emotion on his face but you could tell he was angry from his balled-up fist.

Blake calmed himself and looked at Rebecca" Its Snatch that's why he won" Blake said.

Everyone nodded but Jade and Adam looked at Blake with expectant eyes for an in-depth explanation.

"Snatch steals the next status move use effect even though Unfezant used Roost before Pyroar used Snatch because Roost has two status effects first heal then it regains its ability to fly. Pyroar stole the effect to regain its flight but left the heal tricking the examiner." Blake explained

"How do you steal its ability to fly?" I asked I know Roost temporarily stops you from flying, but I couldn't understand why the pokemon couldn't fly.

"It's because when you use Roost you disfigure wings when you shoot out damaged feathers and regrow new ones healing the coat but the wings take time to go back to normal Trent used snatch to slow down that process," Noah said answering my question.

"Wow" I was truly shocked by a move that a move I thought I knew wasn't the same I forget this is not a game but real life.

"Noah Sabre please report to the battlefield for Promotion Test," someone on the intercom said.

"Wow another promotion test"

"That Sabre kid is he the one who went undefeated at the Freshman Cup Right"

The crow is excited for another battle.

In another private room, they were three people if Xavier was here he would recognize two of them.

"He actually ignored you cuz" one boy whispered

"Shut up" The other boy whispered.

"What are you whispering about Jack, Mark, " The man said.

"Nothing Father" Jack said respectfully

"Nothing Uncle" Mark said respectfully

The man had brown hair like his son and nephew, brown eyes, and white skin but the most eye-catching thing was the scar across his nose. He was Jim Grier the leader of the Speed Hound Group a 4-star trainer.

Jim looked at the boys knowing about the whole situation already but didn't say anything after all he used to come from a civilian family and crawled himself up to where he is now so his family could have some influence if his family choose to use that influences for bad thing he coulden't care less after all if you want to stop them 'just get stronger' he thought.

"This Noah Sabre is the one with the Zangoose right?" Jim asked

" Yes, sir" Jack answered.

" It looks like you might have another competitor for the senior team" Jim said in a nonchalant voice.

"He not my opponent at all father I will crush him," Jake said confidently.

Jim didn't continue speaking instead smiled at his son

"Yeah uncle how could big bro Jack lose to that low life," Mark said.

" You should focus more on your own problems than talk about your cousin," Jim said to this dumb nephew of his.

Back In the other room, everyone was wishing Noah luck as he exited the room.
