EPISODE 34: Moving the tree!

White feathery clouds dotted the azure blue sky as the sun became beatifically, casting a golden glow upon the Earth. The forest hums with Pokemons all around me. I twirl about, gazing up at the canopy, searching for the pidgeys that sing sweetly.

The sun breaks through the cracks, lighting up the dirt path ahead of me, decorated with outgrown roots, wildflowers and fallen leaves that crunch beneath my shoes. I trudge on, taking in the fragrance of minty grass and the damp earth. Each breath is like water, fresh and cleansing, flowing freely into my lungs.

The time was right as the aurora glamours across the young sky. Me and my friends I walk upon the uncanny green whistling grass. It was time to head on track to our grand destination. A city that lays in the east of this region.

After a tough and fierce combat against two senior connoisseurs at the edge of a babbling brook, the brook which separates route three from route four; we continue eastwards to the fifth route, a straightforward route having a bounty of lush grass. There were no tall trees in sight, I could only see endless winding rivers squirming like a needle and a caterpie.

Then, a young girl with an age of eight came rushing towards the opposite direction. The girl seemed to be worried and anxious, she seemed to be looking for something or someone. The young girl saw us as she ran, she decided to ask for help from the four of us.

"Please help me, I'm trying to look for a Pokemon." the girl pleaded. "A Pokemon? But what kind of Pokemon?" Zhery queried.

"It was a tall Pokemon! It also had a brown body mixed with yellow circular patches." the young girl explained. "A tall Pokemon? But I haven't seen a tall Pokemon around here." Camellia answered. "But please you have to help me! I need the tall Pokemon or else my mother would scold me again." the young girl explained.

"Well, if you can give us exact details, maybe we can help," Glade reassured. "Well, the Pokemon is friendly and it was like a tree." the girl explained. Me and Glade got shocked as a memory came rushing to our feeble minds. "C... Could that Pokemon be?" Glade queried. "Trevenant!?" I added as we looked at each other.

"No! No! It was not a Trevenant! The tree that got lost loves to smile." the young girl explained as I and Glade felt comfortable again. "Well, if it's brown then maybe it's a diglet?" Camellia hunched. "No! It was not a diglet because the lost Pokemon was a tree." the young girl explained. "Are you sure it's not a Trevenant? Cause your descriptions match a description of a Trevenant." Zhery assured.

"No! It really isn't Trevenant! The Pokemon that got lost was tall but not as tall as Trevenant." the young girl explained.

"Hmm, if it's not Trevenant then who could it be?" I wondered in my mind. "Please! You have to help me! I'm begging you." The young eight-year-old girl pleaded. "Where did your Pokemon get lost?" Glade queried. "I was playing with it awhile ago near a brook! Then, I took a little stroll in the forest to gather berries but when I returned, the Pokemon disappeared. That Pokemon belongs to my mother." The girl answered. "So that means that the Pokemon you are looking for, got lost somewhere in route three." Glade concurred. "Then, let's go back to route three and find the girl's lost Pokemon," I suggested.

The four of us went back to the babbling brook and crossed it again to reach route three. "Do you know the Pokemon's name?" Zhery questioned the little girl as we walked in the forest to find her lost Pokemon. "I forgot its name, all I remember is that it looks like a tree." the young girl explained.

"There are a lot of trees in this forest, how could you determine which one is your mother's Pokemon?" Glade queried. "It's shorter than other trees." the young girl explained.

We searched for a long time for the so-called tree Pokemon, but there was a problem with that since there are thousands of trees in the forest. How could we distinguish the tree from the Pokemon which looks like a tree?

Then while we were searching in the forest, a strange tree appeared out of nowhere. "I don't remember seeing a tree-like that when we passed this route before," Glade explained. "Yeah, me too" I explained.

"Maybe that's the Pokemon!" the girl hunched. I tried to go closer to it, and even knocked it three times but still the tree wasn't moving. "Strange, this tree looks different from the other trees but it doesn't seem to move," Camellia observed. I went around it and looked at its back, but there wasn't a single face nor eye on the Pokemon. "It doesn't seem to have an eye," Zhery observed. "Riolu! Try knocking that tree with force palm!" I ordered as Riolu jumped down from my arm and tried to force palm the odd tree. The tree still doesn't seem to move no matter how hard or how many times it was hit by Riolu's powerful force palm.

The girl tried to push the tree but it wasn't working. The girl sobbed in fear, she was afraid that her mother might scold her. "Hey don't cry, we'll figure out a way to move this tree." Camellia comforted. Fennekin tried using flame charge but it didn't work, the tree wasn't damaged nor was it burned. Luxio tried using volt tackle but only damaged itself due to recoil. Roselia tried leaf storm but it also didn't work. "Come on move tree!" I shouted in annoyance.

"You do know your talking to a tree right?" Zhery teased. "Yeah but who cares! The tree is being too stubborn." I shouted in frustration. "But Mr. trees can't be stubborn." the young girl said. "See Kalem, even the eight-year-old kid is smarter than you." Zhery teased. "He who laughs last, laughs loudest!" I quoted.

"Move tree! Move! I am a man! You are a tree! You will do what I say" I shouted as everybody sighed. "Why don't we just think of another way instead of shouting at a tree which won't move no matter what you do." Zhery teased. "I know a place where we can talk about the tree!" The young girl exclaimed. "Really? Where?" Camellia queried. The young girl asked us to follow her.

We followed her to a small floral shop/ diner. That's where we talked and planned about the weird and odd tree blocking our way. "I think that we should try cutting the tree down!" Glade suggested. "Don't you have mercy on a tree?" I queried and teased. "You just talked to a tree! A tree!" Glade teased back. While we were planning, we didn't know that an old woman was eavesdropping us.

"I think we should hit the tree with a super hyper beam!" I suggested. "Where in the world will you find a hyper beam? From Admiral Brooke?" Zhery teased as the old woman came closer to us. "Having trouble with a tree blocking your path I presume?" the old woman guessed. "Yes madam! You see, we were trying to look for a Pokemon when a tree suddenly appeared out of nowhere." Camellia explained.

"If that's so my young children, then I advise you to use this bottle." the old woman offered. "But what kind of bottle is that?" Zhery asked. "Its called a squirt bottle, it helps you remove the tree blocking your path." the old woman explained. "Thanks for the Squirtle bottle madam!" Zhery said and smiled. The old woman then left leaving suspiciousness around us. "That old woman is even stranger than the tree," I said. "Seriously Kalem? That old lady is so kind to give us a squirt bottle." Glade objected.

"Yeah, I understand, but how did she know that we were talking about a tree?" I queried. "Maybe she just overheard us explaining about the tree" Glade hunched as we left the floral shop/ cafe and head out back to the tree. We poured the water from the squirt bottle into the top of the weird and strange tree. Seconds later, the tree began to squirm like a worm. Its dotted eyes showed up with its big smile. Then the girl realized something. "Huh? Could it be?" the girl wondered. The strange tree was a Pokemon, but it was not a Trevenant. "Ah! Now I remember! Its Soody!" the girl beamed with excitement.

SUDO!!! the Pokemon shouted with a mischievous look on his face as it began to run again. "Huh? What kind of Pokemon was that?" I asked. "I've never seen anything like it before," Camellia added. "I guess this is a job for Irys!" Irys the Pokedex went out of my bag and showed us some data.

[Sudowoodo! The imitation Pokemon! A rock type. SUDOWOODO camouflages itself as a tree to avoid being attacked by enemies. However, because the forelegs remain green throughout the year, the POKéMON is easily identified as a fake during the winter.]

"So that Pokemon was a Sudowoodo after all!" Glade concluded. "That's Moody, and we need to chase him before my mother goes and looks for me" the girl explained. "Then what are we waiting for! Lets hunt for Sudowoodo!" Zhery added with determination and eagerness as she was willing to find Sudowoodo. "As long as we have the squirt bottle that the old woman gave us, we can find Sudowoodo for sure!" Camellia added as we walked and hunted for Sudowoodo.

We found Sudowoodo blocking a path again, so we used the squirt bottle to awaken Sudowoodo. It was about to run off when Glade commanded his Pansear to use flame charge.

SUDOWOODO!!!! The Pokemon cried as it blasted. "Quick! Return Soody back to its Pokeball!" Camellia advised. The young girl quickly grabbed Sudowoodo's Pokeball in her Pocket and returned Sudowoodo to the Pokeball.

"Finally! That tree is caught." Zhery said with relief. The girl thanked me and the four of us so much and beamed with happiness. "Thank you for finding Soody for me!" The girl greeted. "Nah! No problem, just make sure that Sudowoodo doesn't run off again!" I advised. We went back to the old lady and returned her squirt bottle. "So did it work?" The old lady asked. "Yes it did madam! Thank you so much." Zhery smiled as she returned the squirt bottle.

We passed the babbling brook and went back to route four. The girl waved at us goodbye as she parted ways. "Come and visit our ranch when you have time!" the young and cheerful girl offered. "Really? Sure! No problem!" I accepted the young girl's offer as she crossed route four and went to route five.

"I guess trees can be Pokemons too!" Camellia learned. "Yeah! I'm glad that we found Sudowoodo!" I said in relief. "Well we all know that it was the old lady who we should thank for lending to us the squirt bottle," Glade advised. As the day got old, and the sky turned dark while the moon cast its glazing aura upon us, we walked pass route four and entered route five. As the journey continues.
