(Ezra: POV)
A juicebox in my right hand I sat at my grandfather's desk at his office in the gym.
Casually surfing the net as I did so.
Which is thankfully still known as the internet in this world, and not the pokenet like it was in so many fanfictions about pokemon I read on webnovel in my previous life.
Two months have passed since I've come to live with Drayden in Opelucid City.
At first the two of us were super awkward with each other. But now we amicable relationship.
I even call Drayden gramps now.
And although he doesn't really show it, I know he loves it when I do.
Seems that Drayden is a bit of a tsundere.
Who knew? I certainly didn't.
Other than that I've investigated various things about the world, and have come to discover the pokemon world I now call home is a mix of the anime, games, and manga.
I know this because places that only existed in the anime like Rota Kingdom in Indigo and Vertress City right here in Unova are present. Then there are the Pokemon Association's of each region which existed only in the manga. There are also various other things I learned that helped me reach my conclusion about this world.
The point is, I now have a solid foothold here.
Though there are still many unknowns.
For instance, is Ash older than me or younger than me? What about the various villainous teams of each region?
I've did an internet search for Team Plasma once and got zero results.
Now that could mean they haven't formed yet, or it could just mean they are still hiding in the shadows and biding their time before they appear to the world at large.
I have no clue.
Which is scary.
Since from what I have discovered in this version of the pokemon world, people and pokemon die quite regularly at the hands of criminals and the like.
This isn't your kid friendly pokemon world anymore.
Life and death battles happen all the time.
And since I want to be a trainer in the future this is information I need to know.
That's why I haven't shied away from it.
Taking a sip of my juice I continued searching the net, until I heard a knock on the office door.
"Come in." I said.
When I did so the door opened up and a man entered inside.
He is in his twenties with short dark-brown hair and matching eyes, framed by glasses.
His name is Edward Dunn.
He is the head gym trainer for the Opelucid gym, and one of my grandfather's most trusted employees. He is also the first person who warmed up to me when I arrived here a few months ago.
Since all the gym trainers were thrown for a loop when Drayden introduced me to them.
Not that I can blame them.
From what I was able to gather various people knew that Drayden had a child, but that they a falling out years ago and weren't in contact with each other.
So due to this Drayden, and in turn everyone else had no idea of my existence until those bloodwork results revealed it.
That's why at first everyone had no idea how to treat me.
But now I am pretty friendly with all the gym trainers.
As well as the people of Opelucid.
Since Drayden is not only the gym leader, but is mayor as well just like he was in all pokemon media in my last life.
"Hey Edward." I said. "What's up?"
"Your grandfather is done with the challengers for the day and would like to see you." He explained.
"Alright then." I said.
I then slid back and got out of the chair.
Nudging Ladon with my right foot, since he was asleep at my feet.
"Gon." He said, stirring and opening his eyes.
"Come on. Gramps wants to see me." I told him.
Giving me a nod Ladon stood to his feet.
Once he did so we exited the office, closing the door behind us as we did so.
---------------------------------------
Moving through the hallways of the gym we arrived at one of its many training areas.
When we did so I saw Drayden standing in front of his main team.
Which he hardly ever uses in gym battles, unless the person challenging him meets certain requirements.
Let me tell you, defeating a gym leader in this world is much more difficult than in the games or the anime.
From what I have learned gym leaders in this world have various pokemon at various levels to accommodate the strength of the person challenging them for a badge.
Also, one does not have to win against a gym leader to receive a gym badge here. Since gym leaders are meant to be testing the skills of the trainer they are facing in battle. So it's up to their personal discretion whether to award them a badge or not.
But winning in the gym battle does help in earning a badge a lot more than losing does.
As Ladon and I looked at my grandfather's main team we couldn't keep smiles off our faces. Namely because they are what we aspire to be one day.
A dragon tamer with his powerful dragons beside him.
Oh, and as for the pokemon on Draydens' main team they are as follows.
His starter is a Haxorus. While his other pokemon are a Druddigon, Hydreigon, Altaria, Flygon, Salamence, and finally a Goodra.
An impressive roster in my opinion.
Noticing our presence Draydens' team looked at Ladon an eye.
Seeing this Drayden himself turned to face us.
"Hey gramps." I said.
"Hello Ezra." He said, turning his attention to Edward. "Thank you Edward, you may go."
Giving a curt nod Edward left.
Once he did Drayden focused his attention back on me.
"Ezra, tomorrow there is a place I would like to take you to." He said.
"What kind of place?" I asked him.
"It is the ancestral home of our family, the Albion." He said. "I actually wanted take you there earlier. But... I was told giving you time to adjust to your new living situation was better, and that I shouldn't pressure you with too much information too fast." He explained. "Thus I held off. But I believe that two months has been enough time for you to adjust. Of course it is has not been, please say so now." He said.
"No it's fine. I am ready to go to this place." I told him.
"Ah, excellent. Then we shall head out first thing tomorrow morning." He said.
I gave a curt nod at his words.
Wondering exactly where we were heading.
---------------------------------------------------------
The following morning Drayden and I got up early like he said we would.
Us and our pokemon then had a quick breakfast before setting off.
We headed out of the city, and headed south.
Trekking through the forest two hours, until finally we reached a place I was familiar with from the anime.
The place where Iris was born and raised.
The Village of Dragons.
I recognized the stone statues in the town plaza honoring the legendary dragons of Unova.
Reshiram and Zekrom.
Speaking of which, in this world legendary pokemon, means legendary.
Meaning people hardly ever encounter them, and if they do it is only for a few moments at best. Since that class of pokemon keeps to themselves as much as possible.
Which is good, because from the research I have done legendary pokemon are forces of nature. They can destroy cities in mere moments, and re-shape the entire world in an instance.
That's why they are revered, and why people do there best not to piss them off.
Trying to catch a legendary pokemon in this world, you'd die. No question.
Drayden and I entered the village.
"So, this is the ancestral home of our family." I mused.
"Yes, it is." Drayden answered.
"That's right it is." A female voice spoke.
Turning in its direction I saw a woman Drayden's age. She is dressed in loose-fitting clothing and has long blonde hair, which is graying. Her eyes are green.
She also has two pokemon by her side. A Hydreigon and a Dragonite.
Looking at me the woman offered a kind smile. "Hello there. You must be Dalia's son. You look just like her after all." The woman said.
"Yes. I am." I said. "Who might you be?"
"Her name is Isla." Drayden answered me. "The leader of the village and an old friend of mine." He explained.
Isla sighed at Drayden's words. "I see even after your grandson coming to live with you you still can't lighten up. Honestly, what am I going to do with you?"
Drayden said nothing at Isla's words.
Seeing this I knew they must be good friends.
"Well, it is what it is." Isla said. "Say young Ezra, don't turn into a stiff like your grandfather ok. We don't need two of him around here."
"I can hear you." Drayden said.
"Yes, and?" Isla questioned.
Seeing this I lightly chuckled. "I here you Ms. Isla. I won't end up like gramps. I promise."
"Good, that's good." Isla said. "So then, shall we begin?"
"Sorry, begin what?" I asked.
As I did so Isla gave Drayden a flat look. "You mean to tell me you brought the boy here without explaining anything?"
"I was going to when we arrived." Drayden quickly retorted.
While Isla simply shook her head.
She then looked at me. "Well since your grandfather didn't say allow me. In our village all children have the right to bond with a dragon, and since you are of Albion blood you have this right as well young Ezra. So that is the reason you are here today. To bound with a young dragon from this village." She explained.
"I see. But I already have a partner." I explained. Releasing Ladon from his pokeball after I did so.
"I know, your grandfather mentioned this to me." Isla said. Looking over Ladon afer she did so. "You are taking good care of him. I can tell he will grow to become strong." She told Ladon.
"Bagon." He cried.
She simply smiled at him. Before focusing her attention back on me. "At any rate, even if you already have a partner pokemon you still have the right to bond with a young dragon from the village." She explained.
"I see." I said. Looking at Ladon after I did so. "What do you say, want to add another member to our team?" I asked him.
"Bagon." He cried, nodding his head.
That settles it.
"I will take you up on your offer." I told Isla.
"Excellent. Follow me then." She said.
So with that the three of us started following Isla and her two dragons.
Me lost in thought about what other kind of dragon I would obtain today.

A/N: I just want to note that I made a change to Ezra's lovers.
I replaced Cythina, with Karen.
Karen, the dark-specialist from the Indigo Elite Four.
I've never seen her as a love interest in a fanfic so I thought she would be interesting to have in this one.
But just to be clear, Ezra will only be with two girls. No more, and they are Elesa and Karen.
Since this is not going to primarily be a harem fic.
Though there will be lemons in the future.
So stay tuned.
