Principal Kiriyama, wearing a Santa hat and carrying a bag of presents over his shoulder, stood on the snowy ground, his hands rubbing together. He noticed the room was illuminated and, upon looking up, found Hu Yang standing by the window. Neither of them spoke, but they shared a knowing smile.

Hu Yang turned and retrieved a gingerbread man from the table, which he then handed to Surskit, instructing it to take the gift.

Surskit responded with a cheerful "Slip?" as it curiously accepted the gingerbread man. Hu Yang explained, "It's a Christmas present for you." Surskit, equally delighted, glanced back at Hu Yang before leaving the room with the gingerbread man in its arms.

Observing the joy on Principal Kiriyama's face as he received his presents through the window, Hu Yang couldn't help but smile. The principal continued to distribute gifts to the other teachers with Surskit's assistance.

With a warm heart, Hu Yang opened the present box with his Pokémon. Carefully untying the ribbon, removing the wrapping paper, and lifting the lid revealed a marbled cobblestone with a two-color pattern.

As Hu Yang focused on it, information entered his mind:

This meant that it would be quite some time before trainers became aware of Mega Evolution.

Hu Yang felt the weight of the responsibility that came with this valuable gift. Although Principal Kiriyama appeared unaware of the stone's true significance, accepting it made Hu Yang uneasy. Given that he already received special attention, he wrestled with his conscience for a while.

After much thought, Hu Yang made a decision. He expressed his intention to return the exceedingly precious Mega Evolution stone. However, when he conveyed this, Principal Kiriyama blinked and commented, "But we've already exchanged presents, haven't we?"

Kiriyama Principal then asked, "Rika told me you're planning to become a Pokémon trainer, is that correct?" Hu Yang nodded in agreement, revealing his desire to explore the world.

The principal expressed his admiration for this aspiration and shared a personal story about the stone. He explained that he had found it in a mine during his youth while traveling. It had been in his possession for many years, and though he hadn't realized its significance, he was now entrusting it to Hu Yang in the hope that he would continue his own journey, which he deeply regretted not completing.

Kiriyama Principal's eyes reflected a sense of nostalgia and sorrow. Hu Yang understood the sentimental value of the stone and the dreams of everyone he had met in this new world. The teachers, the students who had become his friends, and the shared love for Pokémon made it easy to be moved by their simple and admirable dreams.

Hu Yang tightly grasped the Mega Stone and affirmed, "I understand, and I promise to work hard." Principal Kiriyama nodded with a warm smile, saying, "Then go ahead and fulfill your dreams."

Meanwhile, deep within Petalburg Woods, a Gardevoir and a young Ralts stood face to face. Ralts, gasping for breath, knelt on the ground, bearing numerous scars from their battle. Gardevoir observed the scene calmly and inquired, "Was it worth it?"

Ralts, rising to its feet with determination, clenched its small fist and replied firmly, "I want to see the human world, to embark on a journey with that human."

Gardevoir took a deep breath, tightly shut its eyes, and sensed its daughter's unwavering resolve. After a moment, Gardevoir reopened its eyes, and a powerful Psychic energy emanated from them as it declared, "Then go."

Startled, Ralts opened its mouth, not comprehending Gardevoir's meaning and questioned, "Father... Why?"

Throughout their battles, Gardevoir had not just been fighting Ralts; it had also been teaching it. Ralts had misunderstood, thinking that its father was merely trying to prevent it from leaving the house. The confusion had left it saddened for a long time.

Gardevoir, with a sigh, reluctantly explained, "I can't keep you by my side forever, can I? The last time you sneaked out when I wasn't paying attention, you were nearly caught by a human. It's not the first time this has happened; it's occurred multiple times. If I hadn't intervened on time, the consequences could have been dire. Rather than having you sneak out without me, I'd rather grant your wish."

Moreover, Gardevoir possessed an innate ability to perceive human intentions, and it sensed that Ralts had chosen a "good-hearted" human.

Tears welled up in Ralts' eyes, and it joyfully exclaimed, "Father, you're the best!" Ralts rushed over excitedly and embraced Gardevoir tightly.

Unaware of the events in the forest, Hu Yang contemplated his winter vacation plans. As the school was closing for the holidays and students and teachers were returning home, he pondered his options. The winter weather, with temperatures dropping below zero, was usually a period when trainers paused their journeys, went home to rest, and planned to continue in spring.
