[Third Person POV]

In a dark room, underneath the Celadon casino, at 3:00 Am in the morning. Two Rocket grunts are kneeling in front of a monitor with a shadowy figure.

"So, am I clear with the information that you must deliver to the labs in Cinnabar?" Unknown voice.

"Yes Sir!" Grunt1/2.

"Good, if you lose that disk, you can start digging your own graves, understood?"

"Yes Sir!"

Both of the grunts leave the room and the monitor shuts down.

"So, you get it right? No screwing around!" Grunt 2.

"Ok, ok, don't take your stress on me." Grunt 1.

Both grunts sneakily exit the casino through the back exit.

"Is there anything important about the disk?" Grunt 1.

"We shouldn't care, let's just go to Cinnabar and get this over with." Grunt 2.

The grunts begin to leave, not knowing that somewhere near him, a girl was eavesdropping on them.

Green gets out of a nearby bush smirks at the back of the grunts.

'So, let's see what Team Rocket is cooking this time. I already have the badge and I already got the other Moon Stone for Nido.' Green.

Green then proceeds to follow the grunts and leave Celadon City.

Meanwhile, Kaori is sleeping in his room.

(4 hours later)

Kaori gets up and does his morning routine. He then proceeds to send out all of his team members and let them play in the park.

"Ok guys, I know we've had some bad experiences with our new friend but, I hope all of you can be really good friends." Kaori.

[But Kaori, this guy trapped us in hellish nightmares!] Spearow.

[Yeah, not even I can find anything to defend him] Beedrill.

"You sometimes forget that I don't fully understand any of you. Look, I know it's hard to trust someone that has bothered you for so long but, just give him a chance, he is part of our gang now." Kaori.

[Fine] Spearow.

"Ok, as most incompetent parents in the world, I'll be reading a book in that bench while you guys play, ok?" Kaori.

[Ok] Everyone but Gastly.

'It should be fine, most bonding experiences between Pokémons happen when the trainer not around. Besides, they can definitely defend themselves after all that training.' Kaori thought and sat on a nearby bench.

While Kaori was reading, his Pokémon were pondering a very important situation.

[So…what should we play?] Ivysaur.

[I would say tag but, Spearow and Beedrill always cheat by flying way too high] Monferno.

[Blame evolution losers] Spearow.

[Yeah, and you enjoy getting decimated by Electric-Types] Monferno.

[Burn] Beedrill.

[Shut up! You wanna throw down dawg, I'll throw down!] Spearow.

While Spearow and Monferno started a small brawl, Gastly went closer to Eevee and talked to him.

[Excuse me. Shouldn't we stop them?] Gastly.

[Oh. No, not really. They know how to control their tempers]

[Speaking of which, why were you following and putting us under different types of hypnosis?] Eevee.

[I... I really don't want to talk about it] Gastly.

[Fair enough, will you play tag…] Eevee.

When Eevee looked at Gastly again, he was already out of there and was nowhere to be seen.

[We usually play until sundown so, keep that in mind if you want to be in the gang] Eevee.

After he spoke, he went and joined the brawl that escalated into a battle royale.

Gastly was observing the surreal scenery with amusement, he couldn't understand the why they would do such a thing.

The battle continued for many hours, it began at 1:00 PM, and it continued until 5:30. At this point, the results were unnecessary, Monferno and Spearow were the only ones left.

[Give up monkey, I'll win this battle!] Spearow.

[In your dreams chicken, I'll kick your ass!] Monferno.

Monferno rushed with a Mach Punch and Spearow countered with a Quick Attack. Spearow covers his left wing with flying energy and manages to move Monferno's arm enough for him to slip through and deliver a powerful Wing Attack.

Monferno steps back and grunts in pain.

'It seems that this will be a curious turn of events.' Kaori thought while pretending to read his book.

[Had enough?] Spearow.

[Not enough birdie!] Monferno.

Monferno rushes again with a Mach Punch and attacks Spearow. Spearow expected that and used Agility to escape. Monferno, predicting his action, fires a Flamethrower at point blank range.

Spearow gets demolished by the powerful flames and receives big damage. Kaori decided to end the battle and got up from his bench but…

*SHING*

Spearow's body began to glow, he became bigger, his beak became sharper and his wings got more aerodynamic.

[Congratulations: Spearow just evolved into Fearow]

'Cool, a great increase in stats…wait what!? Fainted?!'

[It appears that Fearow used his remaining energy to evolve and due to that, he fainted]

'I had the same hunch, thanks system.'

"Ok gang, we're packing! Tomorrow is a day of rest and then we'll fight Erika, understood?"

[Aye sir!] everyone.

"Everyone, come back!" Kaori.

Kaori got everyone inside their Pokéballs except for Gastly.

"Have you decided?" Kaori.

Gastly observes while being invisible and hovers above Kaori.

"Will you join this gang of troublemakers? We're not perfect, we'll have our bad days sooner or later but, we'll have lots of fun and crazy adventures, how does that sound?" Kaori.

Gastly became invisible and got closer to Kaori. He nodded and touched the Dusk Ball and entered it.

'So, Gastly is finally on board with the team huh? My Kanto team still misses a water and electric type for it to be more balanced. Now, which one would be a good addition?' Kaori thought while making his way towards the Hotel.

[Meanwhile-Inside a building in Celadon City]

Two Team Rocket grunts are reading some paperwork and then uncover a cage that has an injured Eevee inside.

"Is this the Eevee?" Grunt 3.

"Yes, the boss says that is the only one to survive the experiments." Grunt 4.

"Man, Eevees are already hard to find, where did the boss find more than 50 of them?" Grunt 3.

"Don't know, don't care. All I know and care is that we NEED to complete this task successfully for our promotion." Grunt 4.

"Oh yeah! We'll be filthy rich!" Grunt 3.

"Shut up and make sure you close the door right." Grunt 4.

"Of course, I'll close it right, I'm no idiot." Grunt 3.

Grunt 4 leaves the room and leaves.

'Crap! I forgot how to properly close the door. The security system is so strict that, even the tiniest mistake imputing the code will end up in a lockdown. Ah, screw it!'

The Grunt 3 leaves the room hoping nothing goes wrong.

The Eevee's fur turns greenish and a Vine Whip extends from it, the Eevee musters all his strength and manages to reach the keyhole of his cage.

After minutes of forcing it, with his vines, the lock breaks and Eevee starts making his escape. Luckily for him, the security system was not online and managed to escape through the ventilation system.

Eevee then rushes until he reaches route 16 and faints after he hid himself inside a fallen trunk.
