Kaori finally went ashore and started to make his way towards Saffron City. Along the way, the presence following was still something that bothered him but, decided to not do anything to prevent any unforeseen circumstances.

Kaori also took this time to train his team in different moves that he has deemed necessary for his future battles.

'This will take some time; Better make the most of it. System, Status of my team, please.'

'I'm glad all that training was worth something.' Kaori.

Kaori kept his journey until suddenly, the road in front of him disappeared.

'Hypnosis again, huh?'

Kaori kept walking in the nothingness. The once full of life environment was replaced by an endless world of darkness with nothing in it except for a road.

'This level of hypnotism is amazing. I feel my emotions in turmoil, my body shakes from neither fear or excitement, my senses are at disarray. This Pokémon has such potential, that it can rival stronger Pokémon like Alakazam or Darkrai.' Kaori.

Kaori kept walking until a black silhouette appears before him. The silhouette remains in its place and takes out a Pokéball.

"So, you want a battle, eh?" Kaori.

"Monferno, I choose you!"

"Monferno!"

The black silhouette sends a dark Monferno.

"Flame Wheel!"

Monferno rolls himself in flames and goes towards the dark Monferno.

"…!"

The dark Monferno imitates the Flame Wheel and clashes against Monferno. The clash ends in a burst of flames that barely illuminates the dark environment.

'I guessed as much. This must be a mirror-like hypnosis, design to tire whoever is fighting. The question would be; how can it maintain said level of hypnosis?'

'No matter, I don't have any counter for mind invaders, so I'll just brute force my way for now.'

"Iron Tail!"

"…!"

Both Monfernos clash with their tails, either dodging or clashing the fight kept as they were evenly matched. None of them could neither counter nor land a hit, their only action was to dodge or block.

Kaori knew that his opponent is just an illusion but, without pinpointing the caster, it is pointless to continue the battle.

'The strangest thing of all is not the sudden hypnosis or battle. Is the fact that whoever is hypnotizing me, has no ill feelings towards me, but rather the opposite, why?'

For what felt like an eternity, Kaori kept battling the doppelganger. Kaori and Monferno were at their limits and they couldn't keep the battle for long.

'I guess I'll have to play dirty to finish this whole shindig.'

"Monferno, Come back! Go, Beedrill, Ivysaur!"

The dark silhouette imitates the actions and sends two dark versions of Beedrill and Ivysaur.

"Ivysaur, Beedrill, evasion plan 2."

Both Ivysaur and Beedrill nod and prepare an attack. Their dark versions prepare to counter their attacks but are met with a blinding flash of light.

The Pokémon that was overseeing the encounter also got blinded and ended the illusion.

The Pokémon ended being a black Gastly with bright red eyes, it fell on the ground with its eyes closed due to the Flash.

'A Gastly? Whatever, I still wanted to capture one so…'

"Dusk Ball, Go!"

The Dusk Ball hit Gastly and started to move.

Thud…thud…thud…beep!

[Gastly has been successfully captured]

The illusion fades away and Kaori takes Gastly's Pokéball.

'Why did you torment me fella? Well, whatever, let the bygones be bygones and let us be friends.'

'System, Status.'

'I'm impressed, his potential is even higher than Monferno. Well, considering the level of the illusion he just did, it really should be expected.'

'Should I call him? No, not yet, I should first locate where I am.'

Kaori takes out his Pokégear and locates himself. When he saw where he is, he got surprised.

Right now, his is in the outskirts of Celadon City, apparently, Gastly brought him there while he was hypnotized.

'I guess it could be worst. I guess I'll challenge Erika and then will encounter Ash while going to Saffron. Yeah, that's for the better, I'll definitely remind him about Primeape for sure though.'

Kaori entered the city and checked in a room. He is currently thinking about Gastly and the why he was so obsessed for him to stalk him all the way from Mt. Moon.

'I know for a fact, that I didn't do anything wrong. I also know that I've never seen this Gastly before, more over, it's weird that he already has 10% trust in me. Even Beedrill who was the easiest to win its trust, had an initial one of 0%. Meh, not gonna screw my head over it , worst case, he tries to escape while I'm asleep. Better case, he will stay and tomorrow I'll let him play with the team.'

'That should ease the fella in no-time. Haha, I'm a genius.'

Kaori then falls asleep and has a good night of rest.
