Bulbasaur Shenanigans.

[Third Person POV]

It's been a few months since Kaori reincarnated in this world, he has become a member of the community in Pallet Town. He helps them sometimes and also has been training Chimchar but has noticed a problem.

(If you wonder the mess in the stats, it was an error of mine, I looked up a lv over 50 Chimchar LMAO. Luckily, I found a stats calculator to be a little more "Realistic" about the Pokémons. Thanks, and sorry for the mistake.)

'System. Why did Chimchar stopped leveling up?' Kaori asked worried.

[Answer: Since the host decided to plan its journey to be the same as the 1st gen protagonists, Lord Wexof has put a lock into Chimchar to prevent him from over-leveling.]

'I guess I can cope with that, I mean, with all my training imagine entering the 1st gym with a lv 40 something Infernape.'

'Are there any other limitations?'

[Yes, Chimchar can only learn 4 more moves before the other block activates. Said block will also be removed the moment your adventure begins.]

'Thanks system. One last question: how do I train the Potential stat?'

[Information unavailable, the host must find out on its own.]

'Ok, time for some grinding.'

A few days after that Kaori had to leave Pallet Town and go to Cerulean City to deliver some parts for a machine to Bill.

While Kaori was away, the lab was empty, Prof Oak went to his Backyard to take a look on the Pokémons he is taking care and Kaori is midway to Cerulean City.

Red decided to enter the lab uninvited for some sketchy reasons.

'It seems that no one is here, good. I know that Prof Oak has many Pokémons that he gifts to beginner trainers, he probably won't mind if I play with them, right?' Red thought while looking through the lab.

After some time, Red finally enters the room that's filled with various Poké Balls.

"Whoa! I never expected Prof Oak to have this many Pokémons. Ooh, what are those."

Red's attention was taken by 10 Poké Balls that were in the table, from right to left, they are: Kakuna, Pidgey, Caterpie, Metapod, Rattata, Poliwag, Tentacool, Weedle and Bulbasaur.

"Hm. With which one should I play first?" Ooh! What are you greenie?" Red grabs Bulbasaur's Poké Ball.

In that moment, a silent alarm went off and sends a signal to Prof Oak's phone. He immediately rushes to his lab to trap the intruder.

Coincidentally enough, both Blue and Gary went to the lab and heard someone in the Poké Ball storage room.

"Red?!" Blue calls Red and startles him.

Red flinches and let the Poké Ball fall in the ground, freeing Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur gets nervous and rushes out of the room, by doing so, red frees the other Pokémons from their Poké Balls and they also escape, except Metapod and Kakuna, they were chillin' on the ground.

Prof Oak arrives and sees how 8 of his Pokémons left the lab. He, now very mad, call the trio.

"RED! GARY! BLUE! Give an explanation this instant!" Oak.

"Both Blue and I just came here. It was all Red's fault." Gary.

"Hey! If you hadn't startled me, I wouldn't have…" Red.

"Enough! Normally, I would ask Kaori to help me deal with this but, he is currently at Cerulean City. Blue, Gary, Red, the three of you will search for the missing Pokémons understood?"

"But neither Gary nor I have Pokémons, what if they attack us." Blue.

"No problem." Prof Oak takes 2 Poké Balls from a special compartment.

"Take these, they are Squirtle and Charmander respectively." Oak hands the Poké Balls to Gary and Blue respectively.

"Now go and bring them back, or you can forget ever stepping into my lab again."

The trio leaves the lab in a hurry.

"Good goin' Red! You have screwed us beyond normal, hope you are happy!" Blue.

"Shut it! if you have time to complain, then you have time to search for the Pokémons!" Red.

"For once I agree with the red buffoon brother, either we help him and get off the hook, or we'll be banned from the lab for the next 8 months." Gary.

"Grr! Where's that idiot Ash when he is needed!" Blue.

(Ash at this very moment.)

"Yeah…I…choose you…zzz…HUH?!" Ash wakes up drowsy.

"What? It was…just a dream, *YAWN* 5 more minutes mom…zzzz *SNORE*"

One after another, the trio brought the Pokémons one after another, the only one missing was Bulbasaur.

"Argh! Where is that green sprout!" Blue.

"Worst-case: He already left the town." Gary.

"Well, I don't know both of you but I'm out. Charmander is too tired, you are on your own Red." Blue.

"Aw come on!"

"Same here, Squirtle is quite worn out, Poli is the only one in relatively good shape to defeat Bulbasaur." Gary.

"Fine! I'll search him by myself. Take the ones we have with Prof Oak before his blood pressure rises again." Red leaves to the outskirts of the town.

Near the forest area he could hear some battling sounds. Red sneaks to the area and he saw Bulbasaur fighting against a Machoke. Machoke had the advantage by being physically stronger.

"Poli, I choose you!" Red throws his Poké Ball and Poli comes out from it.

"Use Water Gun against Machoke."

Poli is quick and the Water Gun hits Machoke in the back. Machoke gets mad and changes its target for Poli. Machokes' fist glows in a yellow color, Red recognizes the glow and ordered Poli to dodge.

Poli dodges the Thunder Punch sticking Machoke to the floor and Red reaches Bulbasaur, but this one refuse to enter the Poké Ball.

'Why does he resist so much…Ah!' Red remembers a conversation he had with Kaori.

(Flashback)

"Why does Chimchar sometimes gets out from his Poké Ball?" Red.

"Sometimes Pokémons want to do something so much that they can bypass the mechanism in the Poké Ball. Either they don't like to be inside, or they simply have some unfinished business on the outside, either way, the trainer must respect its decision."

(Flashback end)

"You want to beat this Machoke?" Red asks Bulbasaur.

The Pokémon looked at Red a little skeptical but nods. Red calls Poli back and crouches to talk to Bulbasaur.

'Listen here, if you want to defeat him, would you listen to me?'

Bulbasaur feels Red's honesty and nods.

The Machoke finally frees himself and locks on Bulbasaur.

"Ok! Bulbasaur use Leech Seed!"

Bulbasaur throws a seed from his bud, Machoke tries to send it away with just his punch but, the seed latches unto him and transfers his energy to Bulbasaur.

"Now, use Vine Whip to throw him away."

"Bul…ba!"

Bulbasaur grabs Machoke and smashes him against a tree.

'His bud is glowing. Could it be, that move!'

"Bulbasaur, collect the sunlight inside your bud!"

Bulbasaur starts collecting the energy and his bud begins to glow brighter and brighter.

The wild Machoke notices this and tries to stop it with a Rock Tomb. Machoke throws big chunks of rock to Bulbasaur.

Unfortunately for the guy, Bulbasaur was already charged up.

"Now, end him with Solar Beam!"

Bulbasaur releases a powerful blast from his bud that decimates the rocks and also takes Machoke down.

"Yeah! You did it Bulbasaur!" Red celebrates but Bulbasaur faints seconds after.

Red was nervous but he just puts him back into his Poké Ball and rushes to Oak's lab.

When he reaches, he sees Prof Oak with some healing items ready to take care of any incoming Pokémon.

After a few minutes, it was diagnosed that Bulbasaur was a little too tired from using Solar Beam, he was not used to the move and it took a big toll from his body.

"So, what did we learn from this experience?" Oak asks Red.

"Do not enter other people's residences without their permission." Red answered.

"Good, now as for your punishment. I believe that a month banned from here will be enough, I checked the cameras and just as they declared, neither Blue nor Gary did something wrong."

The brothers fist bumps each other in sign of victory.

"Fine, fine. Will Bulbasaur be alright?" Red asks concerned.

"You have nothing to worry Red, that little sprout is tougher than he looks, the day after tomorrow he will be back to his usual routine."

"Now all of you return home, I believe it has been enough trouble for the day."

"Hey guys! Let's play with some Pokémons today!" Ash cheerfully spoke as he entered the lab.

The group fall in an unnatural manner while Ash remains there confused by their antics.

"What?! Something like that happened?! And I missed it!" Kaori feels left out for not being there.
