CHAPTER 8: A NEW BEGINNING

Both Alec and Alder were on the outskirts of Floccesy town, both seemed to be waiting for something.

To kill some time, Alder started talking to Alec.

"I see that you trained that mareep very well, the attack he used was thunder, right? I find it incredible that you managed to learn that skill without the help of a TM."

Hearing Alder's praise, Alec was slightly embarrassed and quickly replied:

"Actually, a month ago there was a strong electrical storm, at that time, I was training with mareep, so I stayed in the stable, it was at that moment that it occurred to me to train the electrical type movements, and that was when so much mareep like me witnessed powerful thunder, apparently it was not only me who received a deep impression from him."

Hearing this, Alder frowned, if he remembered correctly, a month ago he received a report about different storms throughout Unova, although the problem was solved as soon as it appeared and did not cause any inconvenience, if it was deduced that it was a pokemon the cause of it.

"So you spotted thunder made by thundurus himself huh, lucky boy."

Seeing that Alder was reflecting on it, Alec suspected that perhaps the electrical storm he witnessed was quite special, but decided not to ask about it, after all, what mattered was that, thanks to it, the little boy managed to learn a Pretty powerful move.

"Come to think of it, isn't Nuvema town at the other end of Unova?"

It was only now that Alec's brain remembered something quite important, and that was that Nuvema town was, so to speak, at the other end of the map, so he didn't know what means of transport would take him there or how long it would take it would take to get there from your side of the map.

"Perhaps we will pass through a city before continuing the trip? Or will we fly with a pokemon that has learned front flight there?"

So, with doubts on his mind, Alec couldn't help but ask Alder about it, who woke up from his thoughts before smiling at Alec.

"It shouldn't take much longer, so you'll know soon enough."

And saying this, Alder turned his gaze towards the sky, to which Alec also followed his example and looked at the beautiful blue sky.

Shortly after, Alder walked over to Alec.

"Look, there he comes."

Hearing this, Alec directed his gaze to where Alder was pointing, where he noticed a black dot getting bigger, until he finally noticed what it was.

"Is that what I think it is?"

To Alec's astonishment, a great roar could be heard throughout the place, before a large pokemon swooped down and landed just a few feet away from them.

In front of them, was a pokemon that ferocious what is known as a "dragon" in Alec's previous world, its four robust and powerful legs, its long and powerful tail that is almost as long as its body, its turquoise color characteristic with a pair of wings as red as blood, in Alec's mind, a name had already appeared.

"Salamance, one of Hoenn's pseudo-legendaries."

Alec couldn't help but mention the name of the pokemon in front of him out loud, to which Alder looked at him surprised, he didn't expect that the little one in front of him knew about this dragon pokemon, and on top of that he knew about the region where it was "discovered" and added to the pokedex.

"Hahahaha, I didn't expect you to know about this boy, but well, even so I present him to you, this one here is salamance, one of my son's most powerful pokemon, and he is the one who will take us to Nuvema town in a jiffy."

Hearing Alder's praise, salamance roared loudly, before his gaze went to Alec, appraising him curiously, and even approaching him without any malice, to which Alec steeled himself and approached him, although due to his age, he was only able to pet his front paw.

This did greatly amaze Alder, leaving him stunned, although his son's salamance was a well-trained pokemon, it did not let strangers get close to it, moreover, a slight growl was enough for even the bravest to back off, even Benga had a hard time gaining the trust of his father's salamance, but in front of him, Alec had achieved it in their first meeting, and it was even the salamance himself who took the initiative.

"*sigh*, Professor Aurea was right, there are still things we don't know about Alec's condition, although so far they don't seem to be negative aspects, it seems that it is really best to let her make sure that everything is in order with he."

Thinking about this, Alder just shook his head before climbing onto salamance's back, and just as he was about to give Alec a hand, salamance himself lay down on the ground, it was enough to see salamance's look to know who was helping Alec up.

This caused a helpless smile to appear on Alder's face, but it didn't take him long to give Alec a hand so he wouldn't fall, shortly after, salamance got up and very carefully, flapped his powerful wings and took flight towards Nuvema town.

This was the first time that Alec, either in this or in his much earlier one, flew through the air, besides, perhaps it was due to the care of salamance, that Alec did not feel any discomfort traveling on his back, moreover, the wind bumping into his face felt quite nice, not to mention the indescribable feeling of being able to see the ground from a great height.

Seeing the emotion on Alec's face, Alder couldn't help but remember his past, when he had just started his adventure, filling his eyes with deep nostalgia.

Alec didn't notice this, as his emotion still filled him, for a moment he seemed to act his age.

This went on for a while before Alec regained his composure somewhat as he thought:

"It's only a matter of time before he also gets a faithful companion that I can fly with on my own."

So, with great aspiration in his heart, he turned to Alder and asked:

"Uncle Alder, how long will it take us to get to Nuvema town?

Hearing this, Alder, who was standing with his eyes closed and legs crossed, exhibited an amused look as he smirked.

"Well that depends on how well salamance treats you, he is flying at a slow speed so that you get used to the flight, so the faster you get used to it, he will notice it and increase his flight speed, although I estimate that we will arrive at the latest a few hours after lunch."

Hearing this, Alec smiled and thanked salamance as he patted him on the back, to which salamance just roared and nodded his head looking at Alec.

So the hours passed, when it was time for lunch, Alec took some sandwiches from his backpack that Ellie had prepared for him for the trip and shared some with Alder.

During his trip he ran into different flying pokemon, but a salamance roar was enough to drive them away, so his trip went smoothly.

Thus, a little before sunset, Alder's voice woke Alec up, pointing to the town still far in the distance, so Alec could see the silhouette of Nuvema town.

Nuvema Town was a town located in the middle of a fairly wooded area, although interestingly, it also has access to the sea, unlike Floccesy town, Nuvema town has a more modern look, where the most popular place is the pokemon laboratory, where trainers League affiliates have a chance to get their starter pokemon.

Thus, Alder and Alec landed on the outskirts of the village, where they both said goodbye to salamance, who, with a great roar, rose again into the sky before quickly disappearing.

Both of them did not stop here, but entered the town, the lively atmosphere encouraged Alec quite a bit, who looked at everything with curiosity, after all, this is the 2nd town he has known since he came to this world.

After a slight walk, both of them reached a hill a bit away from the town, where a large construction could be seen on the top, this was the pokemon laboratory, where Alec would be helping in the next 5 years.

They weren't the only ones around the place, occasionally they could see the occasional kid or trainer walking along with their pokemon, mostly one of Unova's three starters, which were tepig, snivy and oshawott.

This made Alec interested in the potential of the pokemon distributed by the league, so he looked at them carefully, and that's when he found something quite strange.

"Until now, all the starters I have seen have not passed the green rating, this being the predominant one."

But Alec had no time to reflect on it, as Alder's voice woke him up:

"Come on Alec, it's time for you to formally meet Professor Aurea."

Hearing this, Alec cleared any thoughts and entered the lab.

The lab was quite large, there were multiple rooms and many people came and went all over the place, occasionally people in white coats could be seen, which showed that they were staff from the pokemon lab.

Suddenly, a young woman with glasses and a white coat approached them, before gently smiling at them saying:

"You must be Alder and Alec, right? Please follow me, Professor Juniper is waiting for you in her office."

And without saying anything else, she walked ahead indicating the way.

Suddenly, Alec noticed a small detail.

"No one recognizes the champion of Unova?"

Until now, no one had shown special interest in their little group, at first, Alec did not give it more importance, it was only just now that, seeing that even the pokemon lab staff seemed not to recognize Alder that he noticed this strange detail.

"Strange, although Alder is technically no longer the champion of Unova, it shouldn't be a reason for him not to be recognized."

As he thought about this, both Alder and Alec arrived at Professor Aurea's office, where she was already waiting for them.

This was the first time that Alec had seen the teacher in person, in front of him, a beautiful lady in her early twenties with brown hair and a retro hairstyle, dressed in a white coat, was smiling warmly at them.

"It's a pleasure to see you again Alder, and of course Alec, although it's not the first time I've seen you, but it is the first time we've met formally, nice to meet you."

Alec also nodded and greeted the teacher, to which she only smiled before continuing:

"Alder already told me everything, so from now on, you will be my main assistant, I hope we get along."

And with this, Alec's new life began on his path to becoming a pokemon trainer.
