CHAPTER 47 – VS KOGA (PART ONE)

We arrived in Kanto without problems and took a taxi that in an hour or so left us in Fuchsia City, specifically in the Pokémon Center.

"Do you want us to fight today or wait for tomorrow?" – I asked.

"The only thing I'm tired of is sitting so long, so for me, I would fight now" - Nancy replied.

"I still feel like it now, I never felt like fighting again" – Verity agreed.

"I'd like to see them too, so if everyone agrees, that's perfect" - Koharu added.

"Well, nothing, let's go to the Gym" – I nodded.

After a few minutes of walking, we arrived at the Gymnasium and entered through the door.

"Oh, you were the challengers the other day, have you come to challenge Koga?" – asked the abiter.

Then he left and after a couple of minutes he brought Koga.

As we passed, we saw that the battlefield was typical, practically an imitation of the rest, so without further delay we both stood at both ends of the battlefield.

"Alright, the rules will be simple, it will be a 3 vs 3 battle, whoever first weakens the other's Pokémon, wins, they can start!" – said the referee.

"Perfect, I choose you Golbat!" – said Koga taking out his Pokémon.

Golbat came out of his Pokéball ready to fight, you could see it in his eyes.

"Pikachu, it's your turn!" – I said.

"Pika pi!" – Pikachu nodded as he stepped out onto the battlefield.

"Let's not delay any longer, Golbat, use Poison Fang!"

Golbat quickly approached Pikachu as his fangs lit up violet and a kind of hologram of violet fangs appeared.

"Dodge it and use Quick Attack!"

Pikachu managed to dodge it in time and hit a Quick Attack on Golbat that sent him flying.

"Come back Golbat, so we don't do anything!" – said Koga.

Golbat returned to his Pokéball.

"Muk, I choose you!" – said Koga.

And a Muk came out of his Pokéball, but I don't plan to leave Pikachu on the field either.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I already registered my six Pokémon for this gym, just so you know they are Pikachu, Cyndaquil, Charizard, Lopunny, Phione and Meloetta, I left Floragato out for obvious reasons, from now on the leaders will start with strong Pokémon and i won't repeat the same thing that i did with Erika.

"Lopunny, I choose you!" – I said.

Lopunny came out of his Pokéball and gave me a hug.

"Hahaha, I'm also delighted to see you, but we have to fight" – I said.

Lopunny nodded and stood in front of the Muk.

"Okay Muk, let's attack first, use Sludge Bomb!"

"Dodge it and use Ice Punch!"

Lopunny dodged with great agility Muk's attack and retracted his fist which lit up to a bluish-white color and threw himself directly towards Muk.

"Acid Armor!"

Before he could impact Lopunny's attack, Muk was able to use his attack to strengthen his defense so when the Ice Punch hit him, it didn't do as much damage as it should.

"¡Now Muk, use Gunk Shot!"

A huge torrent of something resembling a violet-colored liquid shot out towards Lopunny at high speed.

"Use Ice Punch continuously and deflect the attack!"

Lopunny listened and repeatedly hit Muk's Gunk Shot, until in the end he managed to deflect it with virtually no damage.

A golden-colored sphere the size of a basketball formed above Muk which beckoned and was shot towards Lopunny.

"Fire Punch and deflect it!"

Lopunny lit up his fists with a red color and hit numerous Fire Punches in Muk's attack.

"I expected that, Muk uses Sludge Bomb and takes advantage of Lopunny being entertained!"

Muk listened and threw a Sludge Bomb at Lopunny causing both of them to attack and hit her.

"Lopunny! Are you okay?" – I asked worriedly.

Lopunny stood up and looked at me.

"Punny!" – nodded.

"Perfect, then let's go there again Fire Punch!"

Lopunny charged the Fire Punch and lunged towards Muk.

"It won't serve you, Muk uses Focus Blast and finish her!"

Muk launched his attack on Lopunny, but he had already planned that this was going to happen.

"To the ground Lopunny!"

Lopunny paid attention and crouched thus avoiding the attack of Muk and connecting a powerful Fire Punch in Muk that sent him to fly, it seems that, although he had increased his defenses, the attacks that impacted him left him touched and even some flames came out of his body indicating that he had been burned.

"You're really good, but we don't give up, just like that, Muk uses Gunk Shot again!

"We didn't give up either, Ice Punch!"

Both attacks shot towards their adversaries, but at the last moment, Lopunny dodged Muk's attack and headed towards him at full speed.

"I was expecting it, Focus Blast!"

An Accurate Wave quickly formed above Muk and was fast enough for it to impact Lopunny, but in return, Muk took the hit as well and fell weakened.

"Muk can't keep fighting, Lopunny is the winner!" - he said.

"Well done Lopunny!" – I said cheerfully.

Lopunny smiled at me, but she was too tired to continue fighting.

"Well done Lopunny, you'd better rest, you deserve it" – I said returning Lopunny to his Pokéball.

"I love this fight, I find it so exciting, advance Muk it's your turn!" – said Koga.

So far no Gym leader repeated Pokémon, but I soon understood that, although it was not all bad, I did not hit either because the Muk that was in front of me is a Muk Alola, so, although it was a Muk, their types are different and also wins the sinister type which makes things difficult for me.

"This is my Muk from Alola, as long as the Pokémon is originally from Kanto, we can use it regardless of what regional form it is!" – Koga explained when he saw myself confused.

"All right, then let's go, Meloetta I'll choose you!" – I said.

Meloetta came out of her Pokéball and looked excitedly at the opponent, apparently wanting to fight and prove herself without that device.

"A Meloetta? Look they are hard to get, I heard that only the strongest trainers are able to catch one, now I'm even more excited" - Koga said with emotion.

"That's right, Meloetta and I are very strong, this fight will be easy" – I nodded.

"Hehe, I love your confidence, but you'd better not underestimate us, Muk uses Crunch!"

With a speed unbecoming of a Muk, he moved quickly, even though he had no teeth, his mouth lit up, and a kind of hologram of two mouths with fangs between crossed appeared in front of him.

"It's fast but not fast enough, dodge it and use Relic Song!"

Meloetta barely dodged Muk's attack and used Relic Song.

"Counter attack with Snarl!"

Both sound attacks collided and nullified each other, the only good thing is that Meloetta was able to change her form successfully.

"I see, it was just to change shape, you didn't even mean to do harm" - Koga said.

"That's right and now let's move on, Meloetta uses Close Combat!"

Meloetta moved quickly and lunged towards Muk.

"Since we can't dodge, then we won't do it, use Protect!"

"Damn!"

I did not predict that, although all Pokémon except Magikarp (I think) can use Protect, I did not expect that Muk actually knew that movement, in truth Koga is at another level, it seems to me that we will have to train after this or Sabrina will beat us up.

Either way, Meloetta's attack was easily repelled by Muk's Protect.

"Take advantage and use Poison Jab!"

Muk took advantage of Meloetta being repelled and hit a powerful Poison Jab on Meloetta.

"Are you okay Meloetta?!" – I asked nervously.

"Melo!" – she nodded.

"You are indeed strong, but this only excites me, motivates me to keep fighting, Meloetta come to Muk!"

"Nonsense, it won't work for you, use Protect!"

Muk protected himself, but my goal was not to hit any attacks.

Meloetta just stood by and waited for the Protect to dissipate.

Muk used his attack, but he had already thought about it and Meloetta dodged the blow.

"¡Close Combat!"

And this time he got it right and a barrage of punches hit Muk squarely."
