CHAPTER 24 – KOHARU (Fixed)

In the previous chapters we see how our heroes are invited to be part of a very special event organized by Mew's clone, Mewtwo, he planned to dominate the world with his cloned Pokémon, however, after a noble sacrifice by Ash, he understood that the cloned Pokémon are the same as the normal ones, without differences, so he left his plans of domination and went with his friends to find a better place to live, on the other hand, Ash got a new friend, a young Mew who almost lost his life to Mewtwo.

Hi, first of all, I would like to introduce myself for those who do not know me, my name is Koharu, I am 16 years old and I am the daughter of Professor Pokémon Cerise, I lived and grew up in Vermillion City, and currently attend the Academy of thar City, obviously I visited other places in Kanto, but I have almost always been here.

In school they teach us among many other things, everything a Pokémon trainer should know, you know, the disadvantage of types and stuff, however, my dream was not to become a Pokémon trainer, to tell the truth, I did not have any goal before getting my initial Pokémon.

In the Academy, once you turn 16 you receive an initial Pokémon to choose from a few, I, for my part, I chose Eevee, a Pokémon that has a lot of evolutions, from that moment, I wanted to understand more about it and explore its evolutions, that is my goal, unfortunately I was trapped here.

To begin with I have a childhood friend named Goh, until about 2 years ago he was my hero and I confessed, the truth is that it went wrong, Goh's passion was to get all the Pokémon in the world until he reached Mew, so he left the Academy about 1 year ago or so to fulfill his goal, received a Pokémon from Professor Oak, a Charmander I think I remember and went on a trip, so that's where my first love ended, Goh was not interested and preferred to pursue his dream no matter what or who, so you could say that, apart from my family, I was alone.

In the Academy I had made many friends, the problem is that outside of this, I had no one to date, I focused so much on Goh, that no one accepts me anymore or wants to go out with me for a drink, so you can also say that, when school ends, I am a social outcast, but at least I have Eevee.

While I'm not at the Academy, I do my homework and then play with Eevee in the park, you know, to take me for a walk.

Today was a calm day, the weather was good and a nice breeze was blowing all over the place and Eevee seemed to notice it and was so excited that, when I took my eyes off it, he went to god knows where.

Altered, I tried to look for him shouting his name, I got into some bushes, but I did not realize where I was going and when I wanted to realize, I was on the edge of a cliff, there was enough height so that, if I fell I would end up in the hospital without a doubt and for me bad luck, I stumbled.

I already believed that I was going to fall and for a moment I thought about my life, although I wanted to fulfill my dream, I could not leave here alone because my father did not approve, my old love preferred to leave without me, ignoring my feelings and rejecting them, a short life but somewhat sad the truth.

I closed my eyes and expected the worst, but suddenly, something or someone held me, when I looked, I could not see what was preventing me from falling because it was on my back.

"God I finally find you, I already told you that it is not convenient for you to go around alone" – said one person suddenly.

I set my sights straight ahead and saw a pretty handsome guy with a Pikachu on the man.

"Mew" – said what was holding me from behind.

"Were you helping this girl? I guess it's okay then" - the boy said as he approached me.

Then he stretched out his hand and by inertia I grabbed it, causing it to fall into his arms, but I blushed and quickly pulled away.

"G-Thank you," I said nervously.

"You're welcome, but hey, did something happen to you?" – asked the boy.

"Ah, no, it's just that I lost my Eevee and I went astray looking for it, but thank you for saving me," I explained.

"You're welcome, by the way, this is my friend and companion, Pikachu and this little guy over here is Mew my naughty little companion," he said as he pointed to the Pokémon on his back.

For a moment I went blank, holy god, that Pokémon was the Pokémon Goh left for, Mew, and it was actually someone else's Pokémon!

"Is something wrong with you?" asked Ash.

"Ah, it's not just that I was surprised to see Mew here with someone." - I said.

"It's a long story, but I can say we're friends now, right?" - said Ash looking at Mew.

Mew landed on his other shoulder.

"Mew" – nodded.

"It's incredible, and to think that you have the Pokémon that Goh left everything for" – I said somewhat embarrassedly.

"Goh, is that your friend's name?" asked Ash.

"He was my friend, he stopped being one the moment he left his whole life here to pursue Mew" – I said somewhat angrily.

After all, how would they feel if their best friend and love interest not only rejected you, but also abandoned you to fulfill a near-impossible dream? He didn't even say goodbye.

"Did he go to find Mew?" – asked Ash as he looked at Mew.

Mew just rubbed against him and laughed, it seems that they get along very well.

"Ah, by the way, that, rude of me, I will introduce myself, my name is Koharu" – I introduced myself.

"Nice to meet you" - Ash said with a smile.

How handsome.

"By the way, how about I help you find your Eevee?" - asked Ash.

"Ah, I really appreciate it" – I nodded.

"Well, it will be easy, Mew, do you mind?" – said Ash looking at Mew.

Mew nodded and disappeared.

"Where did he go?" – I asked in surprise.

"It's one of his skills, I wouldn't use it in combat, but it's very useful outside of combat, like these cases" - he replied.

After a few minutes, Mew returned.

"Mew" - Mew said.

"I see, come on Koharu, it seems that I already know where is Eevee" - Ash said.

I nodded and followed him, soon we found Eevee, apparently he was also looking for me and seemed a little nervous, so, when he saw me he ran towards me and hugged me.

"Are you okay Eevee, something happened to you, are you hurt?" – I asked as I checked his body.

"Eevee" - Eevee denied while smiling.

"I'm glad you found your Eevee" - Ash said.

"Ah, this, thank you so much to the 3 of you for helping me!" – I said nervously.

"You're welcome, but it seems that now I have to leave, it's late and they are waiting for me," Ash said.

But for some reason I grabbed his arm as he was about to leave.

"Is something wrong?" – Ash asked curiously.

"This... are you a Pokémon Trainer?" – I asked curiously.

"Yes, I won my third medal a couple of weeks ago, but as you can see we are in training for the fourth medal" - Ash explained.

"And you're going to stay in Carmine City a lot?" – I asked.

"Oh, about two more weeks, I think more would be an undeserved rest," he replied.

"So..." – I tried to say.

"So?" - asked Ash.

"Can you come tomorrow at 5 to the park?" – I asked.

I noticed my face flushing, my heart beating, I didn't know why I invited someone I just met to go to the park with me.

"Oh, of course, at this time I will have some free time, let's say that my teammates prefer to take advantage of this hour to train and do not want me to see their training, so I can" - Ash nodded.

"Perfect, I'll be here from 5 to 7, I'd love for you to come!" – she said still blushing.

"Then see you tomorrow, Koharu" - Ash said as he said goodbye.

That same night.

I came home and the first thing I did was lie on my bed while questioning my decisions today.

"Why was my heart beating so fast and why did I invite him to the park with me?" – I wondered.

Then I kept pondering and realized, actually what I asked him was a date, my god, I invited him on a date, I just wanted our Pokémon to play for a while and get to know him better, but I was actually wrong!

"Or did I really want to see it?" – I wondered.

"Eevee" – said Eevee as she lay in bed.

"Yes, you're right, tomorrow we'll see" – I nodded as I hugged Eevee.

And so, we fell asleep.

The next day.

The day proceeded normally, I had breakfast together with Eevee, went to the Academy, then ate and went for a walk.

As promised, at 5 p.m., Ash appeared in the park.

I was sitting on a bench so he sat next to me while Pikachu and Eevee played together.

"As you told me yesterday, you have a friend named Goh, what happened to him?" - asked Ash.

"Oh, well, the truth is that I don't know, he left without saying anything, he just said goodbye to his parents, then he left and until today I haven't heard from him" - I replied.

"I don't understand, leaving a girl as beautiful as you, and just to fulfill a dream that is extremely difficult to achieve?" – Ash said confused.

"Actually if at least he had said goodbye I would not be so angry with him, to tell the truth I even tried to convince him, I told him to wait until he was 16, that we could go together then, but he said that the sooner he started, better, so the next day, a year ago, he left" – I answered.

While I was saying this I blushed, he actually said me beautiful, I tried not to be noticed, the only thing I hope is that I did not turn red for it.

"I see, don't be offended, but your friend is a bit silly" - Ash commented.

"You don't offend me and as I said yesterday, he's more of a former friend, a real friend would have waited a year to go with me, but not only did he not wait, but he also rejected my feelings for him" - I said a little sadly.

"Oh, so you liked it so much that you confessed?" – said Ash.

"T-That was a long time ago and I don't feel anything for him anymore don't get me wrong please!" – I said nervously.

I don't know why I needed him not to misunderstand that.

"I see, I'm relieved then" – smiled Ash.

"Huh?" – I said.

"I mean, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to meet you and I think it's a shame" - Ash explained.

My heart pounded again.

"By the way, maybe it's a bit rude of me, but I'd like to know one thing," Ash said suddenly.

Shame on my God, I stared at him without realizing it, I hope he didn't notice, please.

"Yes?" – I asked trying to calm down.

"I was wondering, do you have any dreams? I mean your friend left everything for his, sacrificing many things, but I would like to know what goal you have" - Ash said.

"To tell you the truth, less than a year ago I didn't have any, but when I met Eevee everything changed" - I explained.

"Really?" - asked Ash.

"Yes, when I learned more about Eevee I realized that in reality everything that surrounds it is mysterious, why can a single Pokémon evolve into so many different species? I was excited to know and I wanted to find out why, I wanted to see the world, I wanted to travel to, maybe, one day, find out why, but I'm afraid it's impossible at this point" - I said sadly.

"And why, don't you feel like doing that anymore, you don't want to learn about Eevee and her evolutions anymore?" – asked Ash.

"It's not that, you see, my father only allowed me to travel if I went with someone, but when Goh left, my dream also vanished, I guess I'll continue with my father's business, I'll be a Pokémon researcher or something and, maybe in the future I can travel sometime, although not with the freedom I wanted" - I explained.

A great sorrow filled my heart, when suddenly, Ash embraced me.

"I don't want to lie to you, but you shouldn't give up, your dream is to know everything about Eevee, you can't give up just because your father is afraid to leave you alone, there are many trainers who go on a trip alone, it's normal" - Ash explained.

"I don't know why, but my father won't let me, I want to, but I really don't know how" - I said sadly.

"Look, I'm not the one to give you advice, but you can't let your dream be crushed to pieces because of one person's selfishness, you have to fight" - Ash said.

"But, but, I have no idea what to do" – I said sadly.

"So... come with me, accompany me and my friends on our adventures" - Ash said.

My first reaction was to be surprised.
