S3E1: Train Ride Home

A week had passed since he'd talked with Professor Ivy and Foxx was really excited to get home to read her notes but he also knew he wanted to try and challenge the Saffron City Gym Leader before heading over and checking out the Silph Co lab. As for Jessie and James they were just happy to be returning to the Kanto region. They seemed to always feel at home their. So for now the trio started to board the train on time this time because Brock wasn't around to get distracted, thou Jessie wanted to head to the pokemart really bad for some odd reason.

Now as they got on the train the trio found themselves a small cabin just for the three of them in hopes for a little privacy as well as some peace as many people had been giving Jessie and James some odd looks. It was almost as if some of them knew who thy were. Foxx helped them put their bags in the bag storage area along with his.

Just then an eleven year old dark haired girl with dark blue eyes and wearing a pink and black like cheerleading outfit and a white hat which was on backwards barged into the cabin and sat down next to Foxx and right across from Jessie and James. Now Jessie and James recognized her as she also recognized them.

"What are you doing here?" asked the girl shocked.

"Us what are you doing here?" snapped Jessie.

"Well even though I asked first I'm going to see my brother and his family for the holidays." replied the girl.

"You have a brother?" confusingly asked James.

"Never mind him we are going to spend the holiday with our son." replied Jessie giving Foxx, who'd sat silent watching and unnoticed.

"Wait you have a son?" asked the girl confused.

"Yes, and you still never answered my question about you having a brother." replied James.

"Well he's kind of a brother." confessed the girl. "So how does two people as evil as you have a kid?"

"First off its simple the same way anyone has a kid." replied Foxx finally tired of being ignored. He then smiled before asking, "How does someone have kind of a brother?"

"Not what I meant but okay. As for the almost brother thing well Ash Ketchum and I got close as we traveled over this past year and I consider him to be almost like a brother." confessed the girl with a smile before adding, "My name's Dawn by the way what's yours and why are you traveling with these criminals?"

"First my name is Foxx Oak and they're my birth parents. We're currently on our way back to Pallet Town to meet up with Professor Oak, who raised me, for Christmas." explained Foxx with a charming little smile at her before asking, "When did you and Ash split up?"

"Just about a week ago." replied Dawn as she looked Foxx over and even blushed a bit. "We plan to meet back up after the holiday I just needed to stop by and say hi to a friend first."

"So unless you're set on heading straight for Pallet Town you're welcome to join us and see that these to former criminals have at least started to change from their evil ways." replied Foxx with a smile as Jessie and James both looked on now a bit frustrated that they were being ignored. "I was just wanting to swing into a few gyms along the way and try for their badges before heading home for the holiday."

"Oh so why where you in Johto if you haven't completed the Kanto league yet?" asked a puzzled Dawn.

"Simple I never planned on participating in the gym challenge but while on the train ride to Johto I took part in the Battle On The Train Tournament and managed to beat three gym leaders who all gave me their gym badge. Then shortly after arriving me and Brock headed south running into a small group of female gym leaders who challenged me and when I won they too awarded me with their gym badges." explained Foxx, "So now I'm only three badges short of being able to have all of the Kanto ones. So I just figure if I'm in the area I might as well collect them."

"So if you're not wanting to be part of the gym challenge what are you trying for?" asked Dawn wondering if he was possibly new rival for the contests.

"Well, I've always been interested in the effects of Pokeballs and how to make things better for all Pokémon." explained Foxx as he slowly pulled out one of his X-Balls to show her. "I've worked with both Bill of Kanto and Kurt of Johto to learn as much as I can. This is one of my special custom balls."

"What special effects does it have?" asked Dawn with a short flutter of her eyelashes which Jessie caught and it made her smile.

"Well for the most part it takes the effects of the ex-share as well as the comfort of the of two luxury balls." explained Foxx with a smile, "If you want one you can have it or I could always make you your own special ball."

"I think I'd like that." replied Dawn with a smile and a blush.

After a while Jessie and James joined in the causal chat as the train traveled closer and closer to Saffron City. This allowed Foxx to get to know Dawn a little bit more but not quite enough to be able to properly create a custom pokeball for her. It was also decided that Jessie and Dawn would go check out Pokemart while Foxx and James went to the gym that way they could really save on some time.
