I died and was reborn. An impossibility that occurred but now offered me so many opportunities that I didn't have before. Power was open for the taking and I was going to take it all. Everything I desired would be mine and nothing would stop me, not this time. Just a quick warning, this is a story with a mass harem. If you don't like that then don't read, it is as simple as that.

Conquest of Viltrum 2.0 Part III

I didn't even give Tyran'r a chance to enter into Viltrum's atmosphere before I shot up towards him. The clouds burst apart revealing the glowing green figure of Tyran'r descending towards the planet. He hadn't been expecting me to attack instantly, a strange thing considering that well, he hadn't made his approach subtle in the slightest.

Did he honestly expect me to let him descend down into full view?

Please, one of the basic rules of a fight was to catch your enemies unaware. Take every advantage offered to you and this was one of them.

Tyran'r had certainly forgotten or never known this rule to begin with because he barely summoned a weak shield in front of him in time. A simple lazy punch shattered it easily, it carrying through, hand grasping his neck tightly as we rocketed into space, past the floating ring of dead Viltrums and past my approaching ship.

By that point though, Tyrna'r had recovered, claws slashing out into my armour, scrapping helplessly against it. This was forged from the bones of the proto-Doomsday's, even though they might not be as powerful as him, their bones were still far tougher than most materials out there.

However, this was still a warning of other things to come, me releasing Tyran'r, the momentum of our fast speed carrying his body back a few miles while I remained where I was. Tyran'r though kept his head on straight, actually using this opportunity to get some space between us while simultaneously releasing a number of powerful constructs each in the shape of wild beasts of some variety I had never seen before.

Unlike our previous encounter though, I didn't have dozens of Viltrumites attacking me at all times. Meaning that I could focus all my efforts and strength up these constructs.

A plethora of blows was all it took to destroy them all, Tyran'r floating and studying my movements carefully. He must have realised it also because his next wave of constructs was larger in shape, the green colour much darker. As they came in close, I barreled into them I quickly realised that they were more durable than the last one.

But again, they were dealt with in the same fashion, I slowly floating towards Tyran'r. I wanted him to know that he was outmatched, I wanted him to know that he was defeated before he was beaten. I wanted him to realise the consequences of what he had done and what he had truly unleashed upon himself.

Yet I also kept a calm head, I wasn't being ruled by my emotions like last time. Even though I was taunting and mocking him, I was also being highly alert. There wasn't much on Tyran'r the Mighty from the comics. He had been trained by a time-travelling Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz to combat the First Lantern, Volthoom. They succeeded which said a lot about his strength, but what exactly could Tyran'r do with the Green Lantern Ring? There was no information on that other than having the basic abilities that all Lanterns possessed.

So I kept myself on high alert, fully prepared to come across some sort of conceptual attack. Both Torquasm principles were in full effect, I watching my surroundings while also destroying the constructs that Tyran'r threw my way.

No conceptual strike came.

Only Tyran'r came in close, coming down amongst a large wave of constructs, intending to come up close and personal. His long range assault had failed, so coming up close and personal was a smart tactic to try. Unfortunately for him, I was much more comfortable in close quarters.

Two hot beams of energy lanced out, cutting through a number of constructs, Tyran'r just barely ducking underneath them. He came around, claws slashing towards my eyes, but I blocked his forearm with my own. Lucky for him my other arm was suddenly wrapped in green energy, temporarily halting my attack.

A simple flex though was all it took to shatter that construct and swing it round towards Tyran'r, who once again ducked underneath, gripping hold of my ankle as he spun. He then pulled with a suprising amount of strenght, ripping from my position of stability and throwing me through space. The dozens of canons that formed behind him, powerful beams of green energy raining down upon me.

Crossing my arms over my chest, I tanked them all, my body engulfed within their grasp. In response, I unleashed my own energy attacks, heat vision bursting free, small and focused rather than wide and destructive.

They pierced throught the energy beams and struck out, catching Tyran'r in the shoulder. Yet it didn't disipate the cannons like I thought it would have. Then again though, he wouldn't have been able to defeat Volthoom with a prototype Power Ring that had restrictions placed upon it if he couldn't mantain his constructs through a little pain.

Even so, it was hardly worrying, I twsiting my head, intending to cut through Tyran'r entire body and through the canons.

It worked; partially.

The canons were cut in half, but Tyran'r was still standing. A hole was in his right shoulder, a sharp and cauterised line going further right towards the stump that was once his arm. It didn't take a genius to realise what had happened.

Tyran'r had purposefully moved his body, dragging it through the beam and sacrificing his arm in order to preserve his life. What an absolute beast. Honestly, mad props to the guy, that has earned my respect, the mental fortitude it takes to do something like that, the willpower just proves why he was successful in defeating Volthoom.

But all he had done was preserve his life a little longer.

I would like to spare Tyran'r as a means of goodfaith towards the Green Lanterns, but that would be a foolish move to make. There was a high chance that he would just be given another Power Ring, this time without the restrictions his current ring had upon it making him even more powerful. Then he'd come after me, maybe not right away. But definitely if I went for Tamaran, his homeworld.

Again though, it had its problems if I killed him, the Green Lanterns coming after me for killing one of their own. However, I had always known that eventually the Green Lanterns would quite possibly become an enemy of mine.

So I already had a solution in mind for that.

The Green Lanterns had many enemies, beings who wanted revenge. Providing them a Green Lantern Ring they could use for their own means to create others would be the best bet for me. They'd be indebted to me and I'd have access to even more power, enough so that I could stop the Green Lanterns from ever causing problems in my plans for a little while.

At least long enough for me to prepare properly to receive them as a proper host should.

First though, I had to deal with Tyran'r and that job had become much simpler with his arm missing. I could also see that realistion that while he had saved his life but not for long dawning upon him, his face twisting into one of resgination.

But Tyran'r was a fighter.

He came at me with a great deal of ferocity, very much like the wild beast he looked like. Constructs and beams of energy rained down upon us, Tyran'r uncaring if he was struck by his own attacks as he came at me. Every strike I landed didn't so much as faze him, Tyran'r just kept coming and honestly, I was surprised by his lack of care.

Then again, one thing to always know is to provide your enemies an escape path. Once an enemy realised they were surrounded and with no escape, once they knew that death or a life not worth living awaited them, they would fight with everything they had and could reap absolute destruction in doing so. The saying goes, never corner a wounded animal.

Tyran'r showed me why that statement existed.

But ultimately, his fate was still the same, both of us breaking through the atmosphere of a nearby planet. It was uninhabited, but breathable. "I respect you, Tyran'r the Mighty. You truly live up to your title." Those were the first words out of my mouth because despite what he had done to me in the past, his strength could not be understated and was one I recognised.

Tyran'r said nothing in response, body broken and beaten, blood pooling out from his wounds.

"This planet will be your grave, I will even name it after you." I doubt that would appease the man of his impending fate, but at the end of the day this was as much as I was willing to do for him.

"The Green Lanterns, they will come for you."

"I know." I replied, reaching down towards his free hand, Tyran'r not even able to muster the strenght to resist as I pulled off his ring. Without the aid of it, I could see his body beginning to shut down far more rapidly. "But it does not matter. I have always known that someday I will clash with them. But now I have a weapon I can use to defeat them."

Tyran'r chuckled, blood spluttering from his mouth. "You fool. It won't work for you."

"Oh I know." I replied, placng it upon my finger. Much like Tyran'r said, it did not respond. Power Rings could be worn by anyone, but only used if the wielder allowed it. Perhaps if Tyran'r was dead it might respond, but I have no doubt the Guardians could remotely shut it down, I think that happened in the comics once, either that or I'm misunderstanding what actually happened.

But again, while wielding the power of a Green Lantern would be nice, I had another use for it in mind.

"But I have other uses for it, a gift to one of your Corps many enemies." Tyran'rs' eyes widened, the list was long so him knowing exactly who I was talking about was impossible. Though he didn't need to know who I was talking about to realise how bad it would be. "Perhaps you've heard of them, they call themselves the Five Inversions, ruling over the Empire of Tears? Imprisoned upon Ysmault."

That's right ladies and gentlemen.

I intended to fuck with the history of the Lantern Corps by creating the Red Lantern Corps before the Sinestro Corps came into existence by giving them Tyran'rs' Power Ring. From there, they could construct their own Power Rings and tap into the Red Light of Rage.

In doing so, gain the Red Lanterns as an ally.
