Aureus vs. Neji

Heya! Thanks to CatsAreCool, Lord_Disaster, and kingchad420 for the contributions. (sorry I got the last user wrong last chapter.) 

Also, I'm testing how I like writing 3rd Person POV, so the first part of this chapter is 3rd Person POV.

Aureus and Neji locked eyes, staring into each other's souls for a couple seconds before Neji uses Body Flicker to get into the arena and Aureus slams down into the ground with a wave of Aether Magic and Phoenix Fire. The Chunin Exams had a double purpose, after all. Not only to show off to your superiors in order to become Chunin, but also to ward off any wars from rival villages.

Aureus got into his stance, which was his own custom stance, his index and middle fingers raised and his legs in a wide stance. (A/N: Goku stance) He engulfed his fists in Phoenix Fire, and formed his wings on his back.

Neji got into the Gentle Fist stance, and both of them locked eyes yet again.

...

"HAJIME!"

Neji immediately threw a rotation, and, as he predicted, Aureus flew at him, however, what he didn't expect was that Aureus halted right before hitting the dome, and formed an Aether Magic circle, two magic circles forming in front of each other.

Neji's Byakugan went wide, and he used the Kawarimi no Jutsu with a piece of debris from Kiba and Sasuke's fight, avoiding the Aetherwave as it vaporized the nearby wall.

Neji used the Body Flicker, slamming his finger into my stomach, where my Chakra Core would be.

Aureus stares into Neji's eyes, and a Phoenix Magic Circle forms at Neji's back.

"BURNING SOUL!"

Aureus slams Neji with a flurry of Magic Punches.

The magic circle faded, and an Aether Magic circle formed.

"Heavenly Pressure."

Slamming his palm into Neji's solar plexus, a piercing beam of Aether Magic went through his chest.

(A/N: I did NOT kill off Neji. Neji is my favorite character.)

Neji buckled over and collapsed..

"WINNER, AUREUS HARUNO!" Hayate exclaimed, coughing up a storm.

Healing Neji with Phoenix Magic, Aureus helped him up.

"You did good out there. You just got very, very unlucky with who you got matched with." Aureus told Neji, but Neji just scowled.

"How were you unaffected by my Gentle Fist?" He demanded, and Aureus just tilted his head.

"Could you not see it? I have no Chakra Coils, much less Tenketsu to disable." Aureus explained, and Neji activated his Byakugan. "Then what's flowing through your body?" He asked in a nicer way. "Arcane Magic." Aureus responded, but Neji didn't seem to believe him. He started to explain. "I may not use Chakra, but I have Mana." Aureus forms a Magic Circle for reference.

Aureus and Neji return to the stands, and Hiashi pulls Neji aside with a scroll. The last thing Aureus saw of Neji was him breaking down in tears, and he felt himself tear up a little bit.

After drawing cards, the matches were set.

MATCH I: CHOUJI AKIMICHI VS. KIBA INUZUKA

Choji and Kiba locked eyes, but Choji looked away.

 MATCH II: ROCK LEE VS. AUREUS HARUNO

Aureus and Lee locked eyes, Aureus gave him a competitive smirk, and Lee smiles.

MATCH III: WINNER OF MATCHES I & II

All participants looked at each other.

MATCH IV: WINNER OF MATCH III AND SHIKAMARU NARA

Everybody looked at Shikamaru. "Troublesome." He said, yawning.

The finalists were given one month to do what they pleased.

Aureus trained as usual, only talking to Sakura and having meaningful conversations from the shopkeepers he bought from.

Kiba trained with his clan. They worked on a trump card in case he couldn't beat Choji.

Speaking of Choji, Choji stored a bunch of fat in this month, getting ready for a Secret Jutsu his clan had.

Shikamaru wanted to relax, but his team didn't let him. Asuma gave him a trump card of his own.

Lee trained vigorously. He trained himself to the bone, only stopping when he physically couldn't do anymore, then repeating the process. He wanted to win against Aureus, and he saw him completely annihilate Gaara with one attack.

Might Guy gave him a trump card, but it was a last resort.

So, the one month passed, and Kiba and Choji faced off with each other.

...

"HAJIME!"

"HUMAN BOULDER!"

"FANG OVER FANG!"

The clash halted both of their spins, and Kiba jumped back.

Kiba flew through hand signs.

"What?!" Choji exclaimed, not recognizing the hand signs.

"Fist of Inari!" Lightning flowed through Kiba, and he flew at Choji.

"Mono Fist!" Kiba exclaimed, slamming his fist into Choji's face, lightning splashing around them.

Choji screamed in pain, his muscles tightening.

"Duo Fist!" Kiba slammed two lightning fists into Choji's chest and rib, and Choji buckled over.

"FIST OF THE WOLF!" Kiba screamed, slamming his fist into Choji's nose, shattering his nose and some of his face bones.

Choji collapsed, unconscious.

Kiba looked at Choji's knocked out state, a frown on his face.

"WINNER! KIBA INUZUKA!"

Choji was taken away, and Kiba returned to the stands, his team congratulating him.

ROCK LEE VS. AUREUS HARUNO

..

Aureus and Lee stared each other down.

...

"HAJIME!"

Lee immediately threw off his weights, opening the third gate, charging at Aureus.

Aureus grinned, beckoning him. "COME!"

Aureus dodged Lee's attacks.

"FIFTH GATE! GATE OF LIMIT! OPEN!" Lee screamed, speeding around the arena.

Aureus grinned wider, actually parrying some of Lee's attacks.

"SIXTH GATE! GATE OF VIEW! OPEN!" Lee screamed.

"ASAKUJAKU: MORNING PEACOCK!" Thousands of punches of flame were thrown at Aureus, and Aureus was grinning ear to ear. "YOU WANNA DANCE? LET'S DANCE!" Aureus exclaimed, forming wings and taking off into the sky, forming dozens of Phoenix Magic circles.

"FIRE STORM!" Hundreds of fireballs rained down at Lee, and they clashed with Morning Peacock, but the Fire Storm Spell was overpowering it. Eventually, Lee couldn't do it anymore, and he dropped out of the Sixth Gate. Aureus groaned in frustration, dissolving the magic circles and diving towards Lee.

"WINNER! AUREUS HARUNO!" Hayate said from under an Earth Shield. Aureus healed Lee with Phoenix Magic, and he smiled at Aureus. Aureus helped Lee up, patting him on the back. "That was more than stronger than the Hokage. Nice job!" 

"THE POWER OF YOUTH!" Lee exclaimed, and Aureus retched, flying up towards the stands.

SEMIFINALS: KIBA INUZUKA VS. AUREUS HARUNO

"I FORFEIT!" Kiba immediately said with sweat rolling down his face.

Hayate coughed. "Alright.."

..

FINALS: SHIKAMARU NARA VS. AUREUS HARUNO

"I forfeit. There's no way in hell I can do anything to this guy." Shikamaru said, muttering something about pinkettes being troublesome.

..

"Okay... THE WINNER OF THE CHUNIN EXAM FINALS IS AUREUS HARUNO!" Hayate announced, coughing. The crowd cheered, and Aureus smiled, charging up his mana.

"Aureus Haruno? The Hokage wishes to see you." An ANBU informed me. "I don't have Chakra. Is there any way you could Body Flicker me with you?" She nodded. "That's the plan. Hold my arm." I grip her arm, and we appear at the Hokage's Office.

"Welcome. Shikamaru Nara, I hereby promote you to Chunin. You may leave." Shikamaru nodded and left.

"Rock Lee and Aureus Haruno I hereby promote you to Jonin.. But there's one thing..." He said cryptically with a smile.

..

"You have to study." Around a dozen books appear on his desk. I shrug but Lee collapses dramatically.

"You'll be in the field after you finish this and prove you have one hundred percent comprehension." He explained, and I nodded. Rock Lee sighed, but nodded. We took our books and began to study.

This was going to be a long few months.

I met the new Hokage, Tsunade Senju. She was interested in my lack of Chakra but lot of Mana and Arcane Magic. Turns out Sakura was training with her. That was interesting.

I was Jonin recently promoted to Jonin, so I've only gotten one mission. Just an escort mission, the guy didn't believe I was a Jonin for a hot minute.

Naruto was going on a training trip with a Sannin, Sakura was training with another Sannin, I felt left out, but the only other Sannin turned out to be the strong guy in the forest that I incinerated so it didn't matter.

Naruto wasn't gonna be back for another few years.
