A weird feeling of pulling overcame my body. As much as I wanted to fight back, it seemed impossible as I was forced to go along with whatever was happening.
To be honest my mind was quite cloudy at the moment. I can't exactly remember what happened to get me up till this point. When I try to remember, I can only hear distant sounds of the honks of a car and then silence.
'...Am I dead?' It was a thought that sent shivers down my spine.
Death. A concept I was scared of. I didn't want to die, yet I didn't want to live forever. However, the thought of not knowing what's at the end of the road of life is quite scary to most people. However, we can't do anything about it.
I was still young, just about to hit 19, so I'd say I had alot of time left... But I think I might've jinxed myself. My life was going quite well and I had just graduated college and got a good paying job.
'Haa, I'm overthinking...' I decided to push those dark thoughts away and allowed myself to focus more on the light that had appeared from afar and that I was steadily coming closer to it.
As it came closer and closer, memories that I knew weren't mine, entered my head. Confusing grew within me as I watched a life of a boy flash through me.
His birth. Him growing up. Attending school, making friends... Then something changed it all.
At night, on the way home, he stumbles upon a man sexually assaulting an innocent woman. His cheeks were red and his eyes looked hazy, indicating he was drunk.
The boy decided he wanted to help and quickly rushed over, pushing the man, causing him to fall and hit his head against the pavement.
At the moment, two police officers happened to be patrolling the area and quickly approached.
As it turns out, the person the boy pushed was someone of high power and quickly got the boy arrested. When he tried to ask the woman for help, his only response was silence, making him lose hope of getting out of the situation.
The boy was sent to court and sued while also being forced to move to Tokyo and transfer to a new school.
I watched these memories with interest and pity for the boy... Yet also finding this strangely familiar.
But before I could try and figure out why, a wave of feelings overcame me and my eyes snapped open.
The faint noise of a train moving along its designated course, along with the sound of conversations, I quickly realized I was no longer in the black void.
I let my eyes relax and try to take in my situation.
Obviously, whatever had happened to me was definitely not normal. Yet I can't exactly tell *what* happened. It all happened so fast.
"Did I... reincarnate." I mutter the words with uncertainty. Reincarnation was something I was familiar with, but thought of it as an impossible thing. However, it seemed to be the only thing that made plausible sense... In some ways.
But if I did reincarnate, where did I reincarnate? And why?
I look left and right, trying to find even a small clue as to where I am.
'These... memories I've obtained.' Could... Could they perhaps be the memories of the body I'm in? '..Wait..'
This- But something like this shouldn't be possible!?
My body quivers in shock as I remember why these memories were so familiar. I try to keep my cool to not disturb the other passengers as I take in the information.
'Ignoring the sheer impossibility of all this, the person I might've become shouldn't even exist!' In fact. This whole world is just a game...
Persona 5. It was a game I enjoyed and liked. After playing it for only a week I was obsessed with it.
"Akira... Kurisu" The name felt right like it had always been my name but I knew it wasn't.
So does this mean that I've actually reincarnated? No less...
"Are you for real? A mental shutdown?"
My eyes snapped to the sound of the voice, seeing two girls huddled together talking to each other.
'Mental shutdowns...' So I guess it really is true.
I've reincarnated. No less in the body of the protagonist.
