Chapter 4

Elkrina's POV

My heart fell and sank deep into my stomach the moment my lady told me I was to cross into the Earth's realm. Growing up, we werewolves swore an oath to protect it, to prevent the rogues from crossing over to the portal that separated our realm from the Earth's. If the rogues crossed over, they will infect humans and multiply, making it extremely difficult for us to fight against such a multitude.

We were forbidden to go into their realm but here I am, backed up by my lady's order. We considered them powerless beings; with no unique fighting skills, special abilities, or brilliant sorcerers that can be of help to us. Although they are a majority, we still see them as useless and powerless beings and we don't rapport with powerless realms. Although I hated the idea of coming here, I couldn't defy my lady's order, or some of my body parts will have to pay immensely for it.

My head thumped and I heard a distant voice calling out to me. The thumping increased and I couldn't help but grit my teeth to suppress the pain. The voice drew closer and I recognized it to be my lady. I recalled she promised to reach out to me psychically, and she was doing just that. The thumping pain gradually faded away and I could hear her perfectly well.

"Elkrina! Elkrina!!

"Yes, my lady."

"Where are you?"

"I just crossed the portal," I said, peering around to make sure no human was staring.

"Now listen," she said. " I have traced Suki's aura to a young girl about your age and height, she was in a building alone. Now is the right time to strike. Keep your mind open to let me guide you to her."

"Very well my lady," I said bowing.

"Use your shape-shifting abilities wisely and remember to bring Suki back to me unharmed and well.". She concluded before cutting the connection.
