chapter 3 the reunion

"Hey mom,' i said. "I'm home."

When I said that her eyes widen in recognition. she looked over at me again before she pulled him into a hug. She started crying into my chest and I just held her there, comforting her.

"my baby," she said as she pulled away, "what happened to you? why is your hair white? who is this girl that you came with?" she rambled out.

"Shhh, it's okay mom, don't worry I'm fine. Nothing is going to happen to me. I'm fine." I said reassuringly.

We stayed like that for a little while and probably long enough for the neighbors to think that we were doing something.

I entered the house with zoe and my mom. when I entered I noticed more decorations and I also noticed a four-year-old Estelle walking around the house. I picked her up and started hugging her and pampering her.

I put her down and looked around the house. It still had that home feeling just like the day I left. I sat down at the table with zoe and mom joining me.

"where have you been percy. Poseidon wouldn't tell me when I asked nor will lady Artemis or Hestia. they just changed the subject" mom asked.

"Don't worry about it mother I'm back now and that's what matters now. of course, that's only temporary I still have things to do while I'm back," I said.

I still needed to visit Hestia and deliver zoe to lady Artemis. if I was able to do that I could do what I needed to do while on the surface.

"will you ever be back, percy?" mom asked.

"of course, I will. I won't leave you without saying goodbye." I promised.

"good," she said, "because the next time I won't cook you any blue cookies. I shivered under her threat, sure Hestia could cook it but I didn't want to summon it without mom.

"anyways mother I know that I haven't had time to stay here but I need to go before the gods find out I'm here," I said.

I gave my mom a super hug and me and zoe mist traveled to any forest so I can spread my scenes to see if there were any there.

I finally found them in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. I noticed that Artemis wasn't with them and it was just the hunters. I reached into my backpack and took my outfit out.

"Can you turn around so I can change?" I asked. she turned around and I took off my clothes and put on the outfit that I made from the leftover spoils of war I had gotten over the years. I allowed her to turn around.

"where did you get the outfit from?" she asked.

"When you are inside Tartarus you learn to pick up new skills and one of mine was sewing," I said. I grabbed onto her shoulder and fire traveled to the center of the camp.

I was about to leave when I felt something grab onto me. I had pulled out my sword and was going to decapitate whatever it was when I stop myself. I turned around only to be met with Aunt Hestia.

"did you believe I wouldn't know when you got out of Tartarus percy?" she asked.

I stared at her for a couple of seconds before wondering how she knew that I got out of Tartarus. Then I thought about it and I assumed it was because she felt me use her powers or something like that.

"yes?"I answered.

she shook her head and pulled me into a hug before releasing me again. she then turned to zoe who was standing next to us.

"Now tell me young lady how you were able to come back to the land of the living?" she asked.

she took a bow before she answered the question, "I do not know how I came back to life all I know was that I awoke in Tartarus. Then I got shot with an arrow."

"Sorry about that zoe I had spent the last twenty-three years in Tartarus, so when I felt something staring at me I reacted on instinct," I apologized.

they were about to say something when I felt something try and take over my mind. I was about to try and repel it when the oath I made to Kronos flashed in my mind.

'better give me my body back when you finished' i thought.

for the next thirty minutes, all I saw was pitch black, I couldn't hear what they were talking about but I knew I could probably just wait. I waited and not even five minutes later Kronos came back into my mind.

"I suppose I should thank you, you did let me talk to my daughter one last time," he said.

"I always kept my word, even if it was an enemy," I said.

"I supposed you did do that. well, this is the last time I will see you guys. you are still a pain in my ass though." he said.

I laughed, and said, "thanks I always try to."

with that, his body began to disintegrate, and when the last part of his body was disintegrating he said, "I suppose these years were enjoyable, but your still a winey little kid."

with that, I was returned to my body and I looked around to find everything still in place. I was about to go when Hestia turned towards me.

"percy I have a favor to ask of you," she said.

"what is it, you know you can ask me for anything," I responded.

"I know that earlier in your life, what did you call him, 'smelly gabe' abused you," she said.

I felt my hand clench into a fist when I heard about Gabe. If he was in front of me right now I would have killed him, I'm pretty sure everyone knew that I would have.

"Many demigods are going threw the same thing as you did but I want to stop that. I want you to rescue them for me. so they could have a better life," she said.

When she put it like that I suppose she did have a point, if there were kids who went threw abuse I could step in and rescue them. I began to think about it before I decided to accept it.

"When do I start?" I asked

(time skip 6 months)

for the last six months, percy and zoe helped many different kinds of demigods. Some he had saved from illegal black markets or he invaded houses and stole the demigod directly.

percy and zoe killed over thirty-eight people because of the damage of their abuse. some kids had broken limbs or burned marks on them. percy spent most of his time comforting the children and feeding them, when they were finally comfortable enough he would take them to camp Jupiter, the hunt or the rare case camp half-blood.

today was no different, he and zoe were escorting twins that he rescued from a black market to the hunt. he was going to flame travel to them there when he heard the sound of fighting. he immediately hid the two girls inside of the trees. zoe and he immediately ran towards the sound of fighting, only to be seen with the hunt fighting Hyperion and over thirty different monsters, which included a chimera.

"zoe watch my back I'm going in," I told her. she gave a nod of her head and I put my hood on and made my way towards them.

I noticed one of the monsters going after one of the girls that I saved, I instantly got in between them and stabbed them in the gut. they started to disintegrate before I got to the other monsters,

now Artemis and Hyperion knew of my presence on the battlefield. Artemis didn't know who it was but that didn't mean Hyperion didn't, he knew exactly who this was.

percy didn't want the rest of the monsters to escape so he controlled their blood and made them explode. then he held his sword pointing his sword away from his body and walked towards Hyperion.

"that stance... the way he makes them explode... it is him," Hyperion said. " how the hell did you get out of there it was impossible," he yelled.

percy appeared right in front of him and slashed the black of his ankles. he fell and his body tried healing but percy didn't allow that to happen. he grabbed his head and smashed it into the ground repeatedly. he grabbed his sword and cleanly cut off his head.

he looked up only to be met with dozens of bows pointed at him. however, nine of the kids ran up and hugged him, percy just laughed and got down on his knee and hugged them.

"get away from my hunter's male," Artemis growled.

I stopped laughing and looked at her before sighing, "alright girls I have to let go but I got you guys your favorite food."

I said that as I summoned many kinds of food ranging from mac and cheese to hamburgers. I gave zoe a whistle and a couple of seconds later she emerged with the twins.

"now what is your name, boy" Artemis said.

"it's ligma" I said.

Artemis was about to ask for my last name when zoe slapped me. of course, I wasn't one to take one without getting revenge so I made the water in the air into snow and threw it at her.

her face was priceless, but she pulled out her bow and was about to shoot me when Artemis got tired of It and yelled, "enough".

"party pooper," I said.

Artemis gave me a look that said she wasn't playing around, but she doesn't know that if I wanted to escape no one would be able to stop me.

"now who are you and who is your godly parent," she asked.

I looked over at zoe and she gave a shrug of her shoulders and I looked at the hunt. I knew that I could potentially get them as allies if I say it correctly.

"you first," I said to zoe.

"why do I have to go first," she argued.

"I thought it was always ladies first," I said.

"oh, now you wanna play that card. what about yesterday when you got the first bite of the hamburger," she said.

I was about to say something smart back when Artemis glared at me to answer the question.

I just sighed and raised my hand to pull off my hood when an arrow was shot at me, unluckily I caught the arrow and threw it on the ground.

I took off my hood and said, "Percy Jackson son of Poseidon and this is zoe nightshade."

zoe took off her mask and went immediately toward Artemis and took a bow, "it's good to see you guys again." Artemis pulled her into a hug while thalia pointed her spear at me and said,

"Who are you"

"I just said my name percy Jackson," I said.

"the percy Jackson I know had black hair not white,"

I sighed, "thalia is scared of heights."

she dropped her spear and pulled me into a hug. I'm not going to lie it was a long time since I had seen her so I gave her one of the biggest hugs.

"it's good to see you again seaweed brain," she said.

"good to see you to pinecone face," I said with a laugh.

"This is fine and all but I'm going to need to take you to the council," said Artemis.

"Nah don't feel like it," I said.

"That wasn't a question," she said.

"I ain't going up there to Olympus. trust me Artemis if I go up there I'm going to throw hands," I told her.

"just come with me percy don't make this harder than it needs to be," Thalia said.

"ugh fine but I swear that if they vote to kill me, I'm taking at least three of you with me," I said.

"you will be dead before you even try," Artemis said.

"Whatever you say, woman," I said.

"it's lady Artemis, not woman," she said.

"and it's percy not boy, man, or anything else," I said.

She flashed zoe and me to Olympus and shot an arrow up in the sky signifying a council meeting. I went to the hearth and waited for the other gods to arrive.

"it's good to see you again percy," Hestia said.

"Hello again lady Hestia, it's nice to see you even though the timing could be better," I said.

I finished saying that when all the gods suddenly flashed in. Zeus was obviously the first one to flash in then came to Demeter and then the rest of the gods. Poseidon came last, he looked a lot older then the last time when he was fighting Oceanus.

"Why have you called this meeting daughter," Zeus demanded.

"I have called this meet to announce that I have-" she began.

"gotten engaged to somebody," I said in perfect mimicry of her voice.

the first to react was aphrodite, she started squealing and saying that her lifelong dream had come true. while Poseidon looked curious. Apollo and Zeus looked angry literally Zeus was throwing lighting off his body.

"who is this person Artemis" Zeus yelled.

"wait I have-" she began.

"already broken my oath," I said.

Zeus started throwing lighting around and apollo looked ready to kill people. I was going to continue but I couldn't hold it anymore. i started laughing, I was laughing so hard the council heard me.

"who the hell are you," Zeus said.

"oh me, I'm Artemis's boyfriend," I said.
