Percy Jackson: A Demigod's Pain

Life is cruel, but aren't the gods are crueler? Bringing mortals into their petty arguments while also ignoring their pleas. The worst part of all this? They still expect us demigods to save them. . First and foremost, f*ck the movies. With that being said Percy Jackson is my all time series of books so it is only natural for me to write about it. This is not a story about a main character becoming really op while collecting girls like Pokemon. This story will focus on character development and world-building. Slow romance, like really slow romance, and obviously no harem. There will be things here that I feel are usually overlooked in Percy Jackson fanfics, such as fatal flaws. . Credits to Rick Riordan for his books. The cover picture isn't one either.

Heated arguments

While Annabeth went inside to get her injuries treated, Christina and Luke stayed outside of the camp itself. Luke wasn't allowed in for being a man, much to the anger of the group, so Christina chose to stay with him and make him company. Annabeth needed to get her wounds treated and they had already ran out of ambrosia again, no doubt because of the constant fights they got into.

Thalia on the other hand was led by Zöe to the main tent, were the lieutenant of the hunters resided. Sitting down face to face with each other, Zöe called another hunter in to bandage Thalia's wounds while they talked.

"I have a proposal for thou." opened Zöe, ignoring Thalia's confused stare product of the English she was using.

"What is it?" replied Thalia. She wasn't as smart as Luke or Annabeth, she knew that, she was much more hotheaded than the others, but that didn't mean she was an idiot at all. Her instincts were the best in the group, and something was telling her that she wouldn't like the proposal.

"Join us." said Zöe.

"Huh?" to say Thalia was confused would be an understatement. She definitely didn't see this coming, when her instincts started warning her she thought she was about to be attacked or something so she was on guard, she didn't quite expect actually receiving an offer.

"Don't look at me like that, thou has shown great battle prowess in thy previous confrontation, so did the other girl with the dagger, but she is still too young." continued Zöe.

"You want us to join you?" asked Thalia, slowly coming to terms with what it would mean to be with the 'hunters'. On one hand it was evident they were strong and experienced, they would be much safer with them, on the other hand she didn't actually know anything about them and they didn't seem to like Luke a lot, though that could change with time.

"Just thou." replied Zöe. "I might have considered the other girl but as I said, she is still too young."

"Wait... you are just inviting me? Then what about the others?" asked Thalia.

"Well thou shall come with us, and thine... friends, shall go their own way." replied Zöe calmly. "As a hunter of Artemis thou shall never age, and shall not die unless killed. Thou shall never get sick nor shall thou ever go hungry. Thou shall always have the other hunters to look out for thy. All thou shall do is pledge thy loyalty to lady Artemis and renounce to love from thy life."

Thalia would be lying if she said she wasn't tempted, who wouldn't? After a life of running away and fighting to survive, she was being offered the opportunity to be around strong people, to have a goddess who actually takes care of her own look after her. However, the temptation lasted no more than a second, being almost instantly replaced by anger.

"So you are telling me to abandon my family?!" asked Thalia outraged.

"Well, we could eventually invite the other two girls to join the hunt as well." replied Zöe, clearly confused about were Thalia's anger was coming from.

"And what about Luke?" asked Thalia, still angry.

"What about him?" replied Zöe. "He shall go on his own way."

Thalia could feel anger unlike ever before, she was actually starting to wonder wether the woman in front of her was doing this on purpose. "So you are telling me to abandon those I consider dear and join you in your stupid hunt?" asked Thalia while gritting her teeth. She knew better than to outright attack Zöe, they were in the middle of her camp for god's sake, but that didn't mean she would just ignore this insult either.

"Watch thy mouth." said Zöe while narrowing her eyes. "None gets away with insulting our lady or her hunt."

"Hoh, so you think you will get away with insulting my family?" asked Thalia while getting angrier. It was pretty obvious Zöe thought they weren't even a threat, which got in Thalia's nerves. They had been trying so hard, constantly fighting to improve, to survive, and suddenly comes a woman who not only tries to break them apart, but also looks down on them.

"I merely stated the truth. The one thou call Luke will undoubtedly betray thy trust." replied Zöe, getting slightly angry at the fact that her offer was being rejected due to a man.

"Watch it! I won't leave Luke okey?!" replied Thalia, getting angrier and angrier, small sparks flying off the tips of her fingers.

"Thou is being stupid! None helps a man without regretting it later, and thou shall be no exception!" said Zöe while banging her hand on the table.

They were currently alone, the hunter that came in to bandage Thalia's wounds had already left once she finished her job, however the commotion they were causing brought the attention of the other hunters within the camp, including Annabeth, whose treatment had just finalised and was currently been escorted to Luke and Christina.

Outside of the camp, Luke was the first to notice the change of movements form the hunters inside, as they slowly gathered near the main tent. Christina noticed soon afterwards and looked at Luke, who was slowly getting up. The hunters that were with them got up as well and the environment grew tense.

After a few seconds like that, two more hunters came, bringing Annabeth along with them. Noticing the atmosphere, Annabeth immediately went in Luke's and Christina's direction while the other two hunters stayed next to the other two, looking at the three of them carefully.

Eventually Thalia came out, clearly very angry. Zöe came out behind her while sharing the same angry expression.

"We are leaving." said Thalia while indicating the other three too grab their things. Zöe made a small hand gesture, ordering the other hunters to allow them to go.

As they made their way out, Thalia looked back once more only to be met by Zöe's cold and angry gaze. With an angry scoff, Thalia returned her attention to the other three and continued to walk away from the hunter's camp.
