Taking Risks for Friends

"I have time." Ren responded without hesitation. Despite it being time to go home, as long as he didn't wander around and went straight home, he still had plenty of spare time.

"Let's have coffee... No, let's go to Ricchan's house. It can save time." Fumino suggested. Initially, she wanted to take him to a comfortable café for a chat, but considering her father's concern about Rizu coming home late, she changed her mind.

"Dad, I'm back." Opening the Udon Ogata door, Rizu shouted, giving space for Ren and Fumino to enter.

There weren't too many customers in the store, so Ogata's father wasn't too busy. After seeing his beloved daughter return, he came over quickly.

"Rizu-chan, you're back. What would you like for dinner?" As soon as Ogata's father reached the door, he saw Fumino who had just entered.

"Furuhashi-san is also here, here to try the new udon flavor..." Before he could finish speaking, he noticed Ren entering as well.

"Excuse me." Ogata's father couldn't welcome Ren at all, a man with a close relationship with his precious daughter. If it were Fumino, Itsuki, or any other girl who came last time, he would be delighted to entertain them. They were his daughter's friends, so he mustn't lose etiquette. But Ren was different, a man, and his daughter was very sweet. It was hard not to worry as a father. "Yes, Shinomiya-san invited me and Ricchan to join the student council after she became the student council president." Fumino explained. "And she also said that she would persuade you to join the student council, so we wanted to talk about it."

"I see." Ren almost didn't understand what she was saying.

"Kamikawa-san, would you like to join the student council?" Rizu asked with concern. This was the most critical issue. If Ren chose to join the student council, they wouldn't mind joining as well. Before asking him to explain it, they had exchanged thoughts; whether to join the student council or not, if joining would benefit them, but if not, it wouldn't have much impact. "Not sure." After thinking for a moment, Ren gave this answer. Previously, he would never choose to join the student council. Besides, there were so many people in school, and there were only a few student council members. It was genuinely unique. He hated being unique. But since befriending Kaguya, he began to doubt. He could help classmates without affecting himself; this had always been his rule. Friends and classmates were different, so it was understandable that he couldn't use the same standard.
