Peerless Harem

Today is the day that I will finally take my life. It has been an incredible journey thus far, and I have accomplished all that I have set out to accomplish from the moment that I’d found myself reincarnated into this eastern fantasy. Honestly, me. A simple farmer has reached the pinnacle of all creation under heaven. Yet, despite that seemingly impossible achievement, I feel so empty inside. Perhaps, it is because I am all alone here in this place. This summit. For the loneliest number is me. So many people have left me on my journey towards greatness for one reason or another. They either did not have the OP systems or cheats to reach the top with me, and I feel so guilty for totally forgetting about them for many, many adventures, especially when I ascend to a higher realm. Now that I have reached the peak, standing above all else, looking down at the world and everything below, I wonder to myself, what have I truly accomplished in the end? Where are my friends, families, and most importantly, a harem of heaven defying beauties? ****

Valley of the Wind

I have never needed anyone handing anything to me before, and I am not going to start now. Besides, I can take pride in what is rightfully earned. I can also say that I have earned it rightfully to others. Now I am just repeating myself.

"Are you sure, Senior Shin? With my letter of introduction, you will not need to undergo any exams to become a Chef or Gourmet Hunter," Shen He points out, earning a glare from me.

"Do not question what I want to do ever again, Headmaster. I will not be so forgiving next time," I tell him flatly. He is only alive because I have deemed it so, and I could easily make him dead. I doubt that he has any more defensive-type Sacred Treasures. Even if he has, I can overwhelm him with my Sacred Treasures.

Despite a lot of my treasures have been looted over the years, I still have a lot of them stashed within my storage ring. Some of them are even deemed too powerful to be used, but I will use them if I have no choice.

"Deepest apology, Senior Shin," Shen He apologizes respectfully. "I will prepare the letter right away, as the preliminary examination has started for a couple of days now. It usually runs for a whole week."

I nod in understanding. Sure, I could wait for the next examination since I do have better things to do right now, but I am somewhat hyped up at the moment.

Maybe it is because of the foods I just ate. Probably. It was quite delicious, and I do want to eat more delicious foods. It has been a billion years after all. Give me a fucking break.

"While you do that, let me have a look at your personal library. I have the skills, but not the knowledges to fully make use of those skills," I request.

"You wish to study right now, Senior Shin? Are you sure this is the right time?" Shen He questions and then flinches at my deadly glare. He bows regretfully afterwards, recalling what I have just said only a few seconds ago.

"Just do what you are told. Don't think too much about it," I advise him.

The elderly man acknowledges my words and then channel his power, activating some sort of artefact on his wrist. A portal soon forms before him. "Yes, Senior Shin. Shall we go now?"

"In a minute," I response before activating my bloodstone ring, sucking out the blood from the corpses nearby, making Shen He turns white afterwards. I do not need to tell him what would happen to him if he displeases me. "Now, we can go."

The dimensional rift connects directly into his office at the Culinary School, and I approve the spacious office situated within the highest tower, overlooking the entire campus.

Once inside the office and the portal is closed, Shen He immediately calls for one of his assistants.

"I didn't know you were back, Headmaster. Do you need something?" a beautiful woman asks as soon as she enters the office.

She notices me standing by the window, checking out the landscape beyond.

"9," I murmur. Anyone below 10 is not worth my time. While I has the power to help them reach that double digits, I don't really feel like it. I rather spend my time helping 10s reach even higher level.

And then reap the benefit. Hehe. Ahem. Should act my age. I am more than a billion years old, with or without counting the time that I was wasting time dreaming.

"Yes, please take…" the Headmaster hesitates for a moment since calling someone like me his senior is basically throwing his image through the dirt. "… young master to the Grand Library. Give him what he required. And do not ask unnecessary questions."

I nod at that and decide to roleplay the type of people I hate the most. I also decide to give Shen He a bit of face, considering that he has proven to be quite useful so far.

"Thanks, old man. My father will surely reward you handsomely," I response and then left the window and head towards the doorway. "Well, aren't you going to show me where the Grand Library is, Miss?"

I check her name and commit it to memory.

"Yes. Please hurry, Yu Yan, as young master Shin needs to participate in the preliminary examination afterwards," Headmaster Shen He speaks up after a moment.

"This is the Grand Library, young master Shin. May I ask who the Master is?" Yu Yan asks curiously.

I have a look at the massive library before returning my attention to her. Even if she is a nine, she is a high nine, at least higher Yang Meili. But not really by that much.

Maybe I just like a mature woman.

Or maybe I just like to cuck someone. Who that someone is, well, I will find out later.

"My father? Hmm… I could tell you who my father actually is, but I fear you might likely wind up dead or worse before the end of the day," I tell her darkly before smiling. "But if you really want to know."

"No. No. Please. I am merely curious, that's all, young master Shin. Please help yourself," Yu Yan hastily responses and then excuses herself. She is a smart girl. Beautiful and smart.

Maybe I will help her but that is for later.

I head towards the first bookshelf and then activate one of my rings and then touch each of the book on that shelf. It takes about a few minutes to touch every book on that shelf, copying the knowledges they contain into what basically my personal Wikipedia.

Reading is slow and tedious, not to mention pointless especially when there are more efficient ways to gain the knowledge within those books. Everyone in the old era has their own methods to learning insanely fast. My method is not the best, but it suits my need more.

I repeat with the next bookshelf and then the next, downloading everything into my ring.

Not everything within the Grand Library is about culinary and anything related to culinary, however. I manage to acquire a lot of information about the geography of the world as well as prominent players within the realm.

By the time that the Headmaster came to get me, I have already copied most of the Grand Library. Of course, I tell him to wait until I finish copying everything into my personal library.

The Headmaster, Shen He does not need to wait long at all.

"Did you learn anything, Senior Shin?" the Headmaster asks when we return to his office. He has seen me in the Grand Library, and he has seen me touching every book instead of reading them.

"You can keep calling me young master just to keep up the impression," I tell him, "and yes, I did learn quite a bit. Can you create a portal to Valley of the Wind? I want to see something."

"Valley of the Wind?" Headmaster repeats. "No man is allowed to step into that place, young master, but if you really want to go there, I will take you."

I ponder about that while Shen He activates his artefact, forming a portal to where I have wanted. He then steps through while I follow him, and the both of us arrive at our destination instantly. Honestly, that sacred tool is quite useful, and I really want one.

However, there is a down side to the artefact. It is not exactly stealthy since any cultivator could detect the portal forming. Thus, that is why Shen He looks further ahead, frowning deeply.

As for me, I examine the massive twin statues at the entrance to the valley, reminiscing about a long-forgotten past. I quickly snap out of it and walk pass the twin statues, entering the valley.

"Young master Shin, the Valley of the Wind belongs to the Sword Maiden Sect. Trespassing into their territory without being invited is courting death," Shen He calls out, seemingly in fear.

"If you are going to die either way, wouldn't you like to die with a bang?" I response, hinting that if he doesn't come, I will kill him. If he is to die either way, it is better to die like a man.

Sadly, I only manage to take only a few steps before at least a dozen heavenly beauties descends upon me with swords unsheathed. I suppose that these are the sword maidens.
