Chapter 27

After spending about one hour enjoying my new ability to run on the side of buildings, I decided to go and get the ice gun that Felicia wanted so I ran back to Mister freeze secret base where I found Batman, standing next to his dead body.

"Long time no see. Batman" I said, looking at him from the door of the factory.

"So you weren't dead? I should have known." Batman said, reaching toward his utility belt.

"You want to fight again? Remember, last time we fought, you couldn't do anything." I said, taunting Batman. "You got fucked up bad."

"True. But this because last time, I wasn't prepared." Batman said, looking toward me. "This time, I will stop you for good and put you in my prison."

"What do you mean?" I asked, purple lightning appearing around my body.

Batman brought out a syringe with a dark red substance within it and injected it into his body. Not wanting to see the effect, I entered speed time, which I started calling it when everything slowed down, before running toward Batman, but something surprising happened.

Countless bolts of blue lightning came out of Batman's body as they begin to coursed around his body. He turned his head toward my direction before sidestepping and dodging my punch, surprising me more on how he could react and move so fast.

"As I said, I wasn't prepared." Batman said.

With a blue streak of lightning, Batman ran out Mister freeze hidden base, and I gave chase, wanting to know how he got his super speed.

-Third POV-

Batman and Carnage sped through the city of Gotham as a blue and purple streak, making quick turns and dodging the cars and trucks on the road, while pushing each other and exchanging punches and kicks with each other. Though, Carnage was the one taking most of the blows.

Even though he was faster and had better reflexes, it was by a small margin and Batman is trained in many fighting styles, making up for that difference in speed and even besting Carnage.

Carnage ran up the side of a building, wanting to show Batman that even if he got artificial speed, he was still better, but Batman followed with no problem and also ran up rhe building, following Carnage.

As they both ran up the building, they exchanged blows and tried to trip each other, but none of them succeeded as they came down the other side of the building then kept speeding through the city.

While they ran through the city and fought each other, Batman used the chance to stop a bank robbery and murder that was about to happen, angering Carnage and causing him to boost his speed past Mach 5 and started beating up Batman who was still running ar Mach 3.

Seeing he was going to lose if things keep going like this, Batman brought out another syringe and injected himself turning lightning around his body darker blue, and his speed increased exponentially.

But this speed came with a drawback. His body and suit started burning up. Seeing this, Batman decided to end it quickly and zoomed past Carnage and toward Miller harbor. When he reached the edge of the Harbor and where the oceans start, he didn't stop or slow and kept running, surprising and shocking Carnage as he started running on water.

"H-How? What the hell!!!" Carnage shouted, slowing to a stop at the edge of the harbor. "How does he know that? What up with that!? I never knew I can run on water!!!"

Batman kept running until he was miles away from the harbor on the ocean before he turned around and ran back to Carnage.

He appeared in front of Carnage, and not expecting the Dark Knight to come back Carnage wasn't able to dough as Batman landed a supersonic punch right on the purple speedster face, shattering his armor helmet. A sonic wave exploding outward and sending carnage flying.

He slid to a stop miles from Miller harbor and the people around started running, seeing Gotham's most notorious criminal. With a blue streak, Batman appeared in front of Carnage who was trying to stand up but fell back down.

"You lost." Batman said, bringing out a power dampening cuff and putting it on Carnage's leg. "This time, I was prepared."

Carnage looked up at the Dark Knight whose mask and another part of his costume were burned up due to running.

"H-how?" Carnage asked, looking up at Batman who was creating heavily. "How did you get your... speed?"

"I made a serum using some info I stole from Star Lab and your blood which gives me your super speed, strength, and your durability." Batman said, ripping a piece of his cloak and using it as a half-mask, covering the bottom half of his face.

"When did you get my blood?" Carnage asked, trying to remember when anytime he bled. "Was it when I was beaten up by Stone mask."

"When you were in prison." Batman said, putting a power-dampening cuff on Carnage's wrists.

"When? How didn't I know?" Car age said, bringing out his mission blade and attempting to stab Batman's leg, which the latter easily dodged.

"You sleep, right?" Batman said, before punching carnage with a speed punch, knocking him out.
