Witches, Elves & Oni

"So your telling us that you need to forge an alliance with the Wood Elves, Oni and us so we would work together to help rescue the Zora who are under threat of a Demon invasion, hmmm…. Even though we agree I don't think the Wood Elves will be as pleased to forge a unified alliance with us…." Arachne says as she sums up the main point of the quest Terra has given me before shaking her head and sighing.

"What? Is there bad blood between the Coven and the Wood Elves?" I said as I hadn't heard of any fighting between them from my daughters who have had to go between there territories to mine in the mountains.

'Thinking about that I should make a mining outpost so they can just fast travel there instead.' I think as I add it to the list of things I have to do.

"The Wood Elves have somethings in common with the Elves of the Elvish Isles, they find it disgraceful and disgusting at the thought of using undead through Necromancy like we do, they don't outright hate us like those snooty High Elves would but they don't have the greatest opinion of us as a result." Medusa decides to cut in.

"And then there are the Oni, even though they haven't bothered us in months due to them having more fun raiding the mountains of Dragonia, but before the DemonKings Defeat they would usually try and raid us and the Wood elves at least once a month, but we could push them back as they never sent there leaders so they never won but we don't have to good of an opinion on them, they almost always lost with very few wins so if you can convince the other leaders to come to a summit meeting in say your village I think we could work out some agreements with the other two so there will be no infighting in the Great Woods anymore." Shaula said as she put down her vials and turned to look at me as she gave her opinon on it all.

"So there's some bad blood between all three of your groups, but not enough to the point where everyone hates each other but enough that your all prepared to start a battle with each other if push comes to shove." I say basically summing up the relationships between the big three here in the Great Woods.

"You could say that, though for the most part we don't have conflicts of interest in anyway, the Elves just don't like what we do and the Oni aren't as annoying as they were so it's not impossible to bury the hatchet as they say." Arachne says as she takes a sip of her wine.

"I see, well it's best I head out and get their cooperation by tomorrow, but no matter what I shall hold the summit at my village in three days so I hope you will allow me to set up the link between here and my village."

"Of course your welcome to do so, and also send any of your villagers with magical aptitude and our people are willing to take them in as pupils." Arachne said with a faint smile as she gave me permission to connect our two territories through the Fast Travel points.

After a little bit more discussing I let them be before I went to their smallish statue of Terra and linked it to mine before I took it and headed back home.

The next day, the Wood Elf Kingdom.

"Great Mother seems to want to unite the Great Woods with one another." Sonia says after she had heard about why I came to visit her kingdom once again with important info along with the Quest that I required their help with.

"I think it's best we do unite if the Demons are really planning to invade the Great Plains for their own if they take out the one remaining Kingdom of the Great Plains just to make it easier for them to attack us later on." I say as I'm trying to convince them to join this alliance I'm forming.

"I have to agree with him my queen, I have been receiving signs from Great Mother a darkness is approaching, it's best we join in on this alliance…. Even if we don't particularly like them." Maria says in a slightly quieter voice afterwards.

Sonia goes silent as she holds her chin and goes deep into thought about it all, after a few minutes thinking about it she nodded to herself before nodding, "We shall do it, we must set our differences aside when the threat of Demons are involved, we shall head to your village in three days time for this summit of yours." Sonia said after giving her confirmation at being at the summit.

"Thank you Queen Sonia for accepting my invitation, we need all the help we can get." I said as I gave her an appreciative nod for what she had done for me here today.

"Think nothing about it, when demons are involved it's best we put aside our differences to deal with them quickly enough for the sake of the land we live upon." Sonia said shaking her head with a slight smile on her face.

I just nodded and after saying a few non-important things I leave and head for the Oni village.

"…. I don't think it's the best idea if we attend this summit of yours." Shuten said as she shook her head while sitting upon her new throne that had be built after her home was fixed.

"Both the Witches and Wood Elves are willing to talk and put things behind them to deal with a larger threat so I don't see why it's hard for the Oni to do the same thing." I say as I cross my arms.

"I and Ibaraki don't have issue with it, but my older sisters Ibuki and Yamato along with a good portion of my tribe don't have good relations with those two tribes and won't be to happy working with them." Shuten said as she rubbed her forehead with a tired look on her face.

"But don't your people love a war? This is going to be a very large battle that will have a rather large army of the demons monsters coming here, hell your forces would make up around half of all the fighting force from our side, all in all it's going to be extremely hard if we can't get your tribes help." Maybe not the best idea to point this out but it is true, with our combined groups we'd make up just a bit over 1,000 members, excluding my soon to be born daughters by tomorrow at the earliest to the day after at the latest just before the Summit.

"Hmmm…. You do have a point, and there's a good chance they will send out some higher demons to lead the army, I'll talk to them but don't get your hopes up as they might find more interest heading off to Dragonia to fight some dragons to get stronger than fight some demons." Shuten says giving her last thoughts on this as she gets up and looks at me.

"I'll go talk with them now and see if they will be remotely interested…. If they make me give them more of my Sake I'm going to make you pay for it with whatever we get out of all this, you did mention access to the Valley of Terra right? If I have to pay them that way I'm expecting some fruits from there to make some good wine out of it." She says as she waves me off before she walks away to go talk with her sisters about it all.

"Haaaa, I'm going to have to pay for this won't I? Well it's best I go back and prepare…. For some reason I feel like this battle won't be that easy." I mutter to myself as I activate the fast travel and head straight home from the Oni village.

Time to prepare for the summit of the Big Four.
