Meeting Chris

Rowin was standing outside the door to his new room. He had been standing there for some time and spent most of that time sighing and shaking his head. "I really need to control my thoughts around the principal if she can read minds. That would be the normal thing to do but she expects me to be troublesome so I'll just do that. I'll think of the worst things I can come up with whenever she's around. I'll keep doing this till she stops using that ability on me or till she thinks that I'm just that bad. It's no sweat off my back either way."

Rowin shook his head to clear his thoughts and opened the door with his key card. He walked in as a black bag containing his uniform and a few necessities floated behind him. The first thing Rowin noticed was the noise in the room. It sounded like a party was going on in the room and the only thing preventing noise complaints was the soundproof room.

The whole place went quiet once Rowin's presence was detected. The loud music had been paused and everyone in the room froze and stared at Rowin. There was some clattering in the kitchen before a black haired, brown skinned guy walked into the living room/bedroom. He held a huge bowl of popcorn in one hand and the other had a ring with a hologram floating above it.

"Oh, you must be my new roommate! I'm Chris." Chris introduced himself when he saw Rowin standing there, dazed. He was about to sit on one of the beds when he realized something. "Oh shit! You're my new roommate. I'm sorry I didn't clean up. I didn't expect that you'd be here so soon. Just pick a bed and give me like twenty minutes to clean up."

After saying that, Chris sat on the floor and ate his popcorn while staring at the hologram in front of him. Everyone else other than Rowin and Chris started moving to clean up the place.

" Do you have some kind of cloning ability?" Rowin asked Chris while staring at all the identical copies of the brown teenager moving around the place.

" Took you long enough to figure it out."

" Do you want a medal for your expert detective work?"

" Maybe a standing ovation to applaud your genius?"

Multiple replies came from different copies of Chris at almost the same time. Rowin was getting ticked off when the seated Chris spoke. " Just ignore them. They get cranky when I force them to work. Anyway, what do you want to have for dinner? A copy of mine is at the cafeteria, just tell me what you want and he'll bring it over."

" What are the options?" Rowin asked simply. He had prepared himself to encounter different kinds of abilities after the incident with Ryan.

"Your nano watch should be registered to the academy's database so just open the cafeteria menu." One of Chris' clones said as he continued to make the bed.

"Thanks." Rowin said as he lifted his left arm with his palm up. "Zain, open the cafeteria menu for the academy."

"Right away, Sir." Zain's voice said as a hologram with a really long list materialized at Rowin's eye level.

"This list is too long. Just get me a meat lovers pizza and vanilla ice cream." Rowin said as he placed his things in the wardrobe that had just been cleared out.

"Do you want anything else, master? Maybe a foot rub while you wait?" One of Chris' clones said sarcastically.

" Why are your clones so annoying?" Rowin asked Chris who was still focused on the hologram in front of him. The bowl of popcorn was already half full since the clones kept grabbing a handful at random times.

"The first five clones I make are perfect copies and entirely obedient when I order them. The clones after that are a bit unstable. They do everything I tell them except shutting up." Chris got slapped in the back of the head by a clone as soon as he said that. "I didn't tell you to hit me so why did you hit me?"

"You were talking trash so I shut you up. Also you didn't say that we can't hit you so it's kinda your fault." The clone replied as he swept the floor. Some time later, Rowin was relaxing on his bed or he was trying to. Four clones had been fighting for space on Chris' bed while the original was playing a game on his nano ring.

The door suddenly opened and two copies of Chris walked in with large bags in their hands. They walked to the table and divided the meal into sizable portions before inviting everyone over. A problem arose when they realized that there wasn't enough to go around. Chris just snapped his finger and multiple clones turned into particles of light and vanished. "Let's eat then."

The meal was enjoyable for Rowin who enjoyed the free show of Chris' clones duking it out for the last slice of pizza. Rowin acknowledged that he would get along with Chris quite easily since he would always mind his own business. At least most of him tried. A clone stared at his pizza hungrily after it lost the fight against the others.

"If you want the slice you just have to offer something in exchange." Rowin said to the clone. He wouldn't normally bother with other people but the clones were quite comical and childish, he liked them.

"I'm not that hungry." The clone answered and walked away. Later that night, Rowin was playing a racing game with Chris and his clones when all of them froze for a second before continuing to play. Rowin was going to ask if something happened but all the Chris' looked unbothered so he ignored it.

It was close to midnight when everyone decided to turn in or at least that's what Rowin expected. The clones got up and split into groups, each discussing their own plans while the original was already in bed. Rowin wanted to ignore the clones but his curiosity wouldn't let him."Where are you guys off to? And won't you disappear once the original falls asleep?"

" Our ability doesn't work like that, even if Chris gets knocked out we will still exist." One of the clones answered. He was standing together with two others. " As for your other question, we are heading down to the bar."

" We are off to the library because someone has to keep our grades up." One clone from a different group said.

" And I am off to date a human while this guy is off to get lucky with an alien." One clone said as he straightened his tie. He was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt. He was standing face to face with another clone dressed exactly the same. They mirrored each other perfectly as they adjusted their outfit.

The clones left the room soon after their preparations were done. Rowin had some trouble sleeping and ended up learning something new about Chris' sleeping habits. Turns out, his new roommate would sleepwalk. At least one of him does, while the other stays in bed. At one point, a clone formed for the sole purpose of drinking water before dispersing into light particles.Rowin put up a barrier of telekinesis around his bed before finally falling asleep.

A loud banging noise woke Rowin up with a start. He thickened the barrier surrounding him before looking around. The first thing he noticed was four Chris were in the room each minding their own business. One was making breakfast, another was working out while a third was putting on the academy uniform. The last was as startled as Rowin since he had also been asleep.

"Those f*cking drunkards." Rowin heard the sleepy Chris mumble before snapping his fingers. The noise ended abruptly and the Chris' continued with their day. Rowin had already had enough sleep and the sun looked to be rising. "What time do the classes start?"

"About an hour ago." The clone that was wearing his uniform said nonchalantly.

"Wait, what!!! Why didn't you wake me up?" Rowin panicked as he rushed into the shower.

"You didn't ask me to wake you up. Plus, I was already late when I woke up so I saw no point in rushing." The clone said as he went to grab a bite of breakfast. Rowin took a quick shower and got dressed before leaving the room. He asked Zain to guide him to his classes and used his telekinesis to levitate and zoom through the halls of the school.

"Sorry I'm late, I got lost on the way here." Rowin said as he walked into the classroom only for him to freeze when he noticed something. The class itself had very few students and most were either chatting casually or staring at a hologram. There wasn't even a teacher in the classroom.

Rowin got pissed when he saw Ryan sitting in the classroom but the thing that almost made him lose it was seeing Chris. The bastard acted like he didn't care about being late yet here he was dozing in the classroom.
