It was clear that Gedwyn had different acquisition prices and methods for each kingdom.
Some were acquired in their entirety, like the large port city of The South Seas Town, where making big money was guaranteed once it was taken over, so of course, it was acquired whole.
Others were acquired cheaply, like the Duchy of Ravenholdt, whose lands were barren, producing nothing and lacking profitable industries or resources, and currently beset by rebels.
After annexing it, besides making the map look nicer, there really was no economic benefit. The rebel issue was also caused by the players themselves, because they forcibly seized the lands of the Highland nobles. The previous lord, Earl Adalian, is now leading the rebellion with a high prestige, which has led to the rebels of Ravenholdt almost matching the kingdom's forces in strength, barely suppressed through issuing quests to adventurers.
