Introduction To Trials

' I am so tired, I need to sleep but I also need to go to work in three hours, if I sleep now I will not be able to wake up.' Jaden thought as he drank coffee to keep himself awake. He has been doing multiple jobs for five years. When he was in school, his parents got into a car accident, in which his father died and his mother went into a coma. They had no relatives except for their uncle and aunt who never supported them. 

After that incident, he had to leave school to earn money for the family as most of the money they had was used to keep their mother alive and to raise his little brother. He was just an average student who had to sacrifice a lot for everyone at a very young age. His brother has just recently gotten admission to a middle school so his expense will be increasing a lot because of travel costs and school fees. 

" Chris, wake me up in two hours, alright?" He asked his brother to wake him up for work and went to sleep because of being too exhausted.

His brother gave him an affirmative reply, Jaden was too exhausted to do anything he fell into a deep sleep as soon as he lay on the bed.

Darkness surrounded him in his sleep and it felt like an eternity has passed when Jaden gained consciousness. Too much time has passed since he gained consciousness after falling asleep in his home. 

" What the hell is happening?" He could not comprehend what was happening to him. Then suddenly he saw a light in front of him. He tried to grab that light and moved forward, it felt like floating in the water. Until he reached the ball of light he didn't stop and finally grabbed it.

The ball of light flashed almost blinding him and forcing him to close his eyes, Jayden slowly opened his eyes only to find himself in a white room. He was naked, and there was no one but a white orb in the middle of the room. 

[ Welcome, Jaden BrenSol] The Orb flashed in green light as a voice came out of it.

" Who- Who are you?" 

[ Please listen to the explanation before asking anything.]

" Where am I? And-" 

[ As I said, I am explaining everything.] The voice suddenly seemed annoyed, Everything was unknown to Jayden, because of being in the darkness for so long he had many questions and he believes that this Voice will answer everything.

[ Are you willing to listen now?] Jayden nodded, he just wanted answers to what happened to him. He nodded. 

[ I want you to remain silent and listen, don't ask anything before I finish explaining, that will be good for both of us. You were going to die before your death your soul was teleported here.] This came as a shock but before he could ask anything, he remembered the warning to not ask anything before the explanation finished.

[ This place is called infinity, multiple words connect to this place just like yours.]

[ This is the place The Gods and other higher beings gather for entertainment.]

[ Just like you many come to this place to entertain those beings.] 

[ We have created a clone of your body and given it to you for use here.] 

[ What you have to do is clear the trials set by gods and higher beings, once you clear five trials you can return to your body and even take the rewards for clearing the trials with you.] 

[ There are many rewards but if you lost your life here you will lose your life forever.] 

[ As I said, you can return to your body once you finish five trials, you can also return here whenever you want, it's up to you.] 

[ As a beginner, you will be given one skill.] 

[ Now, you can ask any questions.]

" Am I dead in my world?" 

[ No, you are not dead, only your soul has been taken from there when you complete the trials, you will return to the same body and at the same time you were gone to sleep.] 

" You said I was going to die but you pulled my soul here before that so when I return at that particular point in time, will I die." 

[ You can get some kind of reward that will heal your body as soon as you get back so you can save your life, This is easy to earn some healing potion in this place.]

" Healing Potion?" 

[ When you drink them, your body is healed of such minor problems.] 

" What kind of trials will there be?" 

[ The Trials are divided into different ranks lowest Rank is F and the highest is SSS, E or F rank trials are the trials you will be doing as a beginner and as you gain levels you will qualify to do higher trials.] 

[ You asked your three questions, now you can not ask anything.] 

" Wait - What? You never said I was only allowed to ask three questions." 

[ I might have forgotten, Besides, if you are a little smart you can understand everything by yourself. Now l will show you your current stats, then I will give you a skill and then yoh can live to participate in trials.] Jayden wanted to curse so badly but he knew that the other party does not care at all about him. The Voice sounded like an annoying government office worker, in the end, you have to be the one to be more patient. 

[ Stats.] The Voice said and a hologram appeared over the Orb.

[ These are your Stats as per the data of various races collected by us. You are someone below average for a beginner thus as per the rules instead of an E Rank, you will be given an F rank challenger.] 

[ Because of being an F rank challenger, You can only choose an F rank skills.] 

" Wait, Isn't this discrimination? If I am weak, at least give me a little upstart in terms of skills."

[ That is not possible, don't protest and whatever you are getting just accept it.] 

For a guy who was going to die from exhaustion, he knew that this chance is too precious for him, he need to go back and get a health potion to not die. He doesn't want his family to be left like that, his mother would die because of getting no treatment and his brother will have to suffer the same things he did.

" Alright!" He said in a determined voice after thinking a little.

[ There are only four F rank skills,

1- Hardening: Increases defence by ten times however the speed is reduced by five times.

2. Spark: A lightning spark, a lighting spark that emerges from the user's hand, only does damage when the Defence of the opponent is lower than 5, direct contact with the enemy is required, Consumes 1 Hp every ten seconds. Lowers opponents HP by ten upon successful execution.

3. Enhanced Vision: Vision capacity increased by ten times.

4. Blind: Blinds your opponent for five seconds, it does not do any damage.

All of these skills seemed trash, spark was an interesting skill but getting your HP consumed is not something favourable for Jayden, Hardening and Enhanced Vision were useless, Blind was the skill with the least disadvantage.

After thinking, again and again, he finally decided to choose Blind.

[ You took too much time. Now Select a Weapon and leave from that white door, you will be teleported to the beginner station.] 

" Wait, What about clothes."

[ Ah right! Wear this.] The Voice said as a set of clothes and boots came in front of him. He works them. and they were a perfect fit. 

[ Choose a Weapon.] 

" I will Choose this." He said as he grabbed a metal spear. " May I ask one more question please?" 

[ No.] 

" Please, can't you answer just as a pity?" He begged. " I will leave quietly after that."
