Adel gently shook Katrina's shoulder, jolting her out of her reverie.
He then looked her in the eyes before stating solemnly, in a completely different tone than before: "What was that all about, Katrina? A disciple who seemed to be of the core rank rushed up behind us, ambushed us, and then fled as if nothing had happened?"
Adel expected some squabbles between the heirs, but he didn't expect them to be this serious.
After all, why would they go so far as to try to kill her? Female heirs posed no threat to them, so why go to such lengths to almost murder her? She may have died if it hadn't been for her strength!
Katrina's heart fluttering, she confessed in a guilty tone:
"You don't have to be concerned about that, Adel. This was a rather common occurrence. It's my fault for not being vigilant enough to avoid it; else, we'd be in a far worse predicament..." But before she went any further, Adel placed a finger on her lips and gently caressed her beautiful purple hair while staring her in the eyes and saying softly: "There is no need to blame yourself. It was not an error on either of our parts. Besides, we were on high alert for that Titanium-Nosed Addax.
Anyway, there's no point in crying over spilt milk..."
Adel continued to comfort her as he took his finger from her lips...
Even though he was angry with her clan, he wouldn't have beheaded the young master if he hadn't been present to kill the beast, without his breakthrough until the first stage of each cultivation system.
And besides, he knew he wasn't the old him, where he had enough power, at the pinnacle of all cultivation systems, to support his deeds, but a new version of him that was significantly weaker than his initial state...
He held Katrina unconsciously in his hands in a comforting approach.
Katrina blushed as she felt his hands on her shoulder and her delicate twin peaks rest into his chest, gently and thoroughly savoring his fragrance.
Adel glanced down as he realized what he'd done, watching her smelling him like an adorable koala on his chest...
A smile appeared on his face instinctively as he started softly caressing her hair as memories of his contact with 'Gabrielle' began to play in his thoughts following the incident between them...
-
The day after the incident between Adel and Gabrielle...
When dawn arrived, Gabrielle behaved as if nothing had transpired between her and Adel.
She already knew how serious Adel was about taking responsibility if she was upset by his touches, but she dismissed it as trivial.
She did not, however, follow through on her remarks. Apart from going to school, she avoided him most of the time, resulting in the two of them seldom meeting.
Adel was becoming increasingly concerned that she would never want to speak to him again because of what he'd unintentionally done to her...
-
Approximately two days have passed,
Adel was thinking in the morning, 'Perhaps I should take her out on a date this weekend. Right? Would that make her feelings for me develop? Hmm, how about we go to the movies or go shopping? But I'm now bankrupt... It's all right; I could use some of my savings. But first, I'll let her pick what we'll do after she responds to my message.' Adel grabbed his phone as he walked along the school hall.
When Adel entered the classroom, he noticed that most of the students had not yet come.
His current class was a PE class, and he sat in the same location he normally did.
He observed Gabrielle in the first row and himself in the third.
He took out his phone and launched the app that was quite popular as a social media platform in his present age. — It was called Palmbook.
He launched Palmbook Messenger and reviewed his current discussions before clicking on her symbol.

Adel completed writing Gabrielle the letter a dozen seconds later, carefully reading it over and over again, checking for errors, before eventually sending it to Gabrielle with a hesitant finger tap, as he was still uncertain whether to tell her the last words in his message or not...
In terms of the message:
[Gabrielle, I apologize for what occurred between us that day. You shouldn't ghost me. It makes me anxious that our friendships would collapse over such trivial matters. You understand how important you are to me. Please respond and do not ignore me. I can make amends by taking you to the movies, shopping, or doing whatever you want this weekend. Oh, and co Clonsider it a date.]
Gabrielle was already seated when Adel texted his response, and the abrupt vibration of her phone caused her to flinch slightly.
She took it out, then lowered her head, which was so red that blood was almost dripping from it...
Her hands were shaking, almost causing her to drop her phone.
She turned to Adel with a furious expression, as if she had pouted, which only added to her cuteness...
Her purple, wavy hair flowed over a wide, joyful face, and she had a crimson flush beneath her eyes.
Her delicate, cyan eyes, accompanied by a twitching nose, gave her the appearance of an angel who had landed on Earth...
-
Adel awoke from his trance as he gazed at her, who bowed her head in acceptance of his request...
When a student entered, they both came to a halt in their conversation. Adel recognized it as a bold young lady with whom he spent the most of his time talking to.
As for why he dubbed her 'bold,' she was fairly brazen in all her endeavors, doing whatever she pleased.
The girl took the next seat next to him, glanced at him, and nodded her head...
-
Adel eventually stopped remembering. Soon after, he realized that hours had gone and that Katrina was blissfully resting in his arms.
He sat down with her dozing on her lap, not wishing to disturb her...

{ Author's Note:
I don't remember which age I did for Adel and Gabrielle back in the memory, but yeah it was around sixteen when the two went to school.
Adel was an orphan, Gabrielle ~?
As for some questions that might be asked, like: he was poor, so how could he afford a phone if he was as poor? I mean, I did mention him working his as$ off to get money, becoming a normal mortal back then; so, working part-time jobs and saving up for a phone...?
I'm quite forgetful about some things, and I'm also a novice novelist so forgive me if there are any mistakes/ plot holes left unexplained in any chapter.
I'm trying my best to not leave anything behind unexplained.
And finally, thanks for reading!}
