Insurgent News

A few matches go by as i continue winning and dying over & over.

The door behind me opened while i continued playing.

"First time i've seen you playing on your own Damon." Sebastian's voice remarked from behind. He walked behind me with his footsteps getting louder and louder, my head still glued to the screen continuing to play.

Sebastian sits down next to me, watching me play. A few more kills later, a victory screen popped up, ending the game, showing my place on the leaderboard along with the ai.

"Nice, a whole lotta kills." Sebastian said.

"Feeling good?" He asked.

"Yeah, feeling alright right now." I replied.

"That's good, wait check the news. Haven't seen it for awhile."

My thumb tapped on the remote, switching from the game

On the news channel, a woman on a seat sat staring at the screen, the lower third read: "Crackdown on insurgent groups."

"Throughout the alliance, military forces of many nations have begun purging operations, taking out suspected insurgent cells or insurgent camps. These ranged from urban environments to swampy areas. This has been accredited to Intel gathered on insurgent groups, however high ranking military officials from varying nations reported that despite the amount of cells founded and taken out, it seems this purging operation would still take months to years to completely wipe out."

"Still alot of insurgent groups in the alliance, they don't stop." Sebastian scoffed.

"And they didn't say that we did it, probably to keep something discrete and secret. Atleast we killed alot more insurgents though." He continued, still with the same bitter tone.

"So, Damon. Went around the place earlier? Since we have alot of time on our hands." He asked.

"Yeah, the garden and the library."

"Starting to like the library huh?" Sebastian chuckled.

"Yeah."

"That's good, you're bonding more with the team as well, which is nice." He continued.

"Did you buy anything with the reward we got last mission?"

"Yeah, a Shaksha from Koresmalin."

"Koresmalin does make rugged but strong rifles. From helping them directly to financially helping them." He replied.

"The alliance is gonna run out of insurgents, if that happens what do we fight?" Sebastian, now whispering to himself asked. Thinking to himself.

"Don't know." I bluntly replied, Sebastian's eyes darted to me while he faced the tv.

The door opened behind us, entering inside was Nora.

"Doing well Nora?" Sebastian asked, now facing Nora behind us.

"Yeah, doing ok." Nora started walking towards the couch, stopping just behind it to face the tv.

"Huh, more crackdowns." Nora commented.

"I'm just gonna go to my room for now. See you two." Nora entered inside her room. Sebastian stood up, adjusting and fixing his uniform.

"I gotta go meet with the Strategist, see you later Damon." Sebastian said, bidding farewell to me as i still sat on the couch. He stepped out the quarters, heading out.

The news now showed weather reports of Aregalia, most are sunny to cloudy. Guess sitting to watch more news or play another round of Guns of Honor won't hurt.
