The weight of the situation had taken a toll on Lilian, and it showed in her troubled expression. Her mind raced, formulating plans to counter Michael's schemes as she tried to make sense of the troubling information from her father.

In a moment of urgency, she forwarded the vital information to Caleb, aware that he was still in a lengthy meeting. Instead of calling him directly, she relied on David to ensure the message reached him, understanding the importance of not disturbing Caleb during the crucial gathering.

Upon arriving at the new mansion, Lilian was greeted by the sight of her son, Cole, peacefully asleep with his head resting on Amber's lap. They sat together on the floor in the front garden, the layout of the house reminiscent of their former opulent home. As Lilian joined them, she sat quietly, not wanting to disturb Cole's peaceful slumber.

" When did he fall asleep" Lilian asks her voice hushed.

"just a few moments ago, the move tired him out"Amber replied softly, her gaze fixed on Cole's tranquil form.

" yeah I guess so"

" It looks like home," Amber says almost whispering, Lilian knows what she means the house layout was similar to their home when they were rich it was almost too similar.

" it is " she replies she knows they are just making small talk to avoid talking about what is happening. Lilian understood the sentiment; the layout indeed bore a striking resemblance to their former home when they were still wealthy, Lilian thought about her decision to send Amber away, her university would resume this month she would send Amber away for her protection, Cole would also need to be sent away maybe she could convince her former nanny to move in with Amber and Cole that way everyone would be together and save. but first, she has to talk to Caleb before making any decision. 

" it going to be fine "

"yeah, I trust you " Amber responded, their hands intertwined as they found solace in each other's company, momentarily setting aside their worries to embrace the tranquility of the garden.

Meanwhile, Caleb had been in a grueling meeting for six hours now with no positive outcome but rather more families had been leaving in anger, the information sent by Lilian had given him an insight as to what exactly Micheal's plan was.

He sighs inside and breathes out slowly before calling for a break in the board meeting and leaving for a breath of fresh air immediately he is followed by David. 

Caleb sat behind his grand mahogany desk in his spacious office, the city's skyline visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows. David, his loyal and trusted confidant, occupied a leather chair across from him. The room was bathed in the soft glow of the evening sun, casting long shadows that danced across the polished surfaces.

David leaned forward, his demeanor serious and contemplative. "Caleb, we need to discuss the situation with Michael Lane. It's becoming increasingly complex."

Caleb steepled his fingers and gazed at David with a sharp intensity. "I'm well aware, David. Michael's ambitions seem boundless, and he's been making strategic moves that threaten everything we've built."

David nodded, his gaze unwavering. "He's systematically targeting the other influential families, driving wedges between them and us. The exodus we're witnessing is just the tip of the iceberg. He's orchestrating a grand plan, and we need to uncover his endgame."

Caleb's jaw tightened, his mind racing with possibilities. "Lilian's information shed light on some of his intentions, but there's more beneath the surface. We must get to the root of it."

David's voice took on a grave tone" But Caleb They are like rabid dogs It's just a video why has it got them in a tizzy?"

"They tried to kill him ". David immediately understands that Caleb meant the board tried to kill his uncle.

"your uncle? , why" 

" Yes they were all in it, he was too powerful and they were scared of him to them it was an act of caution"

"Well it has come to bite them in the back "

"Look, Caleb, I looked into the company accounting and other things even when they leave it wouldn't affect the company too much, they are the ones who need us not the other way around ".

" That is right but the Lane family's dominance isn't merely a result of our vast wealth; it's deeply intertwined with the very fabric of our nation's economy. " I have just the person"

  Caleb says as his phone buzzes with the incoming call from 'MR. President.' He glanced at David and then answered the call.

"Hello, Mr. President."

"Good afternoon, Mr. Caleb. I'm sure you understand the gravity of the situation we need to counter. We kindly request your presence at the White House tomorrow evening by 7. Will you be available?"

Caleb didn't hesitate. "Yes, I will. Have a good day, Mr. President."

As he ended the call, he turned to David, a sense of determination in his eyes.

"Let's hope this plan of ours works," David said, echoing the uncertainty that loomed over their strategy.

Caleb gets home around 9 at night and expects every to be asleep but he is surprised to find Julian awake and waiting for him.

" Am home "

"Welcome home," she says with a smile on her face.

"Have you eaten," she says taking his coat and handling it on the coat rack.

" No, but I have something important to talk to you about."

"Why don't we talk while you eat, " she says as she microwaves his food and sets it on the table he helps her before sitting to eat.

" Thank you I was starving"

" my pleasure "

He eats in silence for a few minutes.

" I need to know what plans you have for Amber you know they can't stay here it's not safe anymore"

" I know and have thought about it why don't we let Amber go to the university she will take Cole along and a nanny from my home, she has been in our family for a long time and I trust her she doesn't have any family it would not be impossible for her to move from the country"

" that is a great idea"

" am hearing a but"

" well I thought you would be going with them you are also not a save  here"

" There is no way am leaving you alone to deal with this, we are going to fight together no matter what "

"Okay, fine, whatever you say" Caleb replies trying to hide his smile his heart is happy Lilian is stating although he is worried about her he also does not want her to go away. He eats in silence and when he is done he washed the dishes he goes to the living room, Lillian sits on the couch and pats the space beside her she directs him to lay his head on her lap and gently runs her hands through his hair until he falls asleep.
