[Create Guild Base]
[The Player would need a {Guild Creation Scroll}]
[The location is suitable for a Guild Base.]
...
Raizel wanted to summon some Mercenary NPCs, different from the monsters he had summoned before. The monsters he had summoned previously were only temporary, and most had already disappeared.
Mercenary NPCs, on the other hand, were permanent summons. However, summoning them required a ritual. For this, Raizel needed monster data and gold. Yet, before he could perform the ritual, Raizel was required to establish a guild. Without a guild, the ritual was impossible to perform.
'Should I create a guild base here or look for a better one?' Raizel introspected for a while before coming to a conclusion.
In the end, he decided to create the guild base in the cave. He could change the layout of the cave if he desired, and such features were available in Yggdrasil.
"Let's go with it; if my assumption fails, I will only lose a Guild Creation Scroll."
Muttering this, Raizel chose the option to create the guild.
However...
...
[Insufficient Members.]
[At least 3 members are required to start a guild.]
[Current members: 1]
[Members List: Cadis Etrama Di Raizel]
[Eligible Members: Guu, Nigun Grid Luin, Rovan, ...]
...
"Ahh, right; I had forgotten that you need 3 members to create a guild," Raizel muttered as he turned toward the path leading out of the spacious room.
'I should just add Nigun and Rovan as the members of the guild for now,' he decided, making up his mind, and started fiddling with the console.
A few moments later, he added Rovan and Nigun as guild members. After this, he again tried to create the guild, and this time, it was a success.
After the creation of the guild, Raizel proceeded to choose the cave as the guild base, which was also a success. For the guild weapon, he decided to use one of the swords he had in his Item Box.
At first, Raizel considered choosing the {Billion Blades} as the guild weapon. However, this would mean he had to leave it somewhere inside the guild base, unable to store it in his Item Box or anywhere else.
In Yggdrasil, a path leading to the guild weapon was necessary. Without such a path, players could not create a guild. This rule ensured that enemy players had a fair chance of destroying a guild by targeting its weapon, the only way to do so.
"Now then, let's see what options I have," Raizel said as he moved toward the throne and sat on it. He opened the console and navigated to the Guild tab.
"Wait, now that I think about it. To create a guild base, the guild needed to conquer a dungeon. However, I was able to create the guild base here. Maybe the prerequisites of creating a guild have changed after I came to this world?" Raizel pondered for a moment before deciding to put this on the back burner.
There wasn't anything he could do right now to unveil this mystery, as he had no information about the console or anything else. However, Raizel resolved to get to the bottom of this in the future.
He was curious about how he was transferred to this world, why the mechanism of different spells and skills had changed, and why he had the Yggdrasil console with him. He also wondered if it was possible to return to Yggdrasil. These questions buzzed in his mind, but he knew that patience and careful investigation would be needed to uncover the truth.
After reading the options, Raizel had a dejected look. The reason? Well, the guild base he had was the most basic one.
There was a limit to the number of traps he could set up, no pop monster summoning mechanics were available, and the area of the guild base was too small. Any action to increase it costs an exorbitant amount of gold.
"Maybe I shouldn't have chosen this cave as a guild base. ~Sigh~ good thing there isn't a restriction on Mercenary NPCs."
Closing the console, he moved toward the centre of the throne room and began preparation for the ritual.
"Well, first, I should summon some Hanzos, then some Shadow Demons, Greater Shadow Demons, and maybe the Eight Edge Assassins."
After making up his mind on what to summon, he took the relevant monster data out of his Item Box along with a huge amount of gold. Each summoning cost him about 50K to 100K gold.
Raizel opened the console and selected the "Summon Mercenary NPCs" option in the guild tab. As soon as he did, a complex pentagram manifested before him on the ground, glowing with a mystical light.
The room was bathed in the mystical light of the pentagram.
"How dramatic," Raizel commented, observing the glowing symbols with interest.
However, after five minutes, nothing happened. A sense of worry crept over Raizel. In Yggdrasil, rituals usually concluded within a minute, and the required items were consumed if they were placed near the ritual pentagram.
"Strange," Raizel muttered, furrowing his brow. He carefully examined the pentagram and the materials he had placed near it.
"Maybe I need to put the items inside the pentagram? Or should I wait a little longer?" Raizel pondered on what to do for a couple of minutes before ultimately deciding to put the monster data of Hanzos and the
gold inside the pentagram.
However, the result was still a failure, even after waiting for an additional 5 minutes. Out of ideas, Raizel started shifting the items inside the pentagram. And after a few tries, the ritual succeeded.
As the ritual finished, 10 Hanzos were kneeling inside the pentagram. They had the appearance of a humanoid ninja, with a horn on their forehead, while their entire face covered by a type of mask that covered the entirety of their faces.
As the pentagram disappeared, the Hanzos kneeled and spoke in unison.
"We greet our master!"
Raizel also felt a connection being established with them.
"Stand up," Raizel commanded them; they all stood up, waiting for further instructions.
"Hmm, What is your name???" Raizel asked one of the Hanzos in the front.
"We don't have individual names; we are just called Hanzos."
"Interesting," Raizel spoke with interest evident on his face.
~Scene Change~
A full moon was shining on the border town of E-Rantel. Sparse patches of clouds floated in the sky, sometimes hindering the moonlight.
Raizel stood at the window of his inn room, gazing at the moon. His hands were caressing the copper plate in his hand. He had registered himself as an adventurer, yet he didn't bring out any Vampiric Knight for the second member of his party. He planned to do it tomorrow, but the reason he didn't do it today was because he wanted to check what the guild would respond to if he registered himself as a lone adventurer.
If the receptionist showed any suspicion, he had planned to summon a Vampiric Knight and register him as the second member of his party.
Yet, the receptionist didn't show any strange expression and quietly finished his registration as an adventurer. However, he had planned to summon a Vampiric Knight tomorrow and form a party with him once he was registered.
Raizel didn't take a request today because all the requests that were fit for a Copper-ranked adventurer were trash, ranging from collecting herbs to cleaning houses and other odd jobs.
'~Sigh~ I need a way to quickly boost my ranking so that I can enjoy this adventuring life,' with a heavy sigh, Raizel began making plans to boost his ranking.
Sometime later, Raizel placed the copper plate in this Item Box and activated one of his skills.
"{Form Transformation: Bat}"
It was one of the skills from the Origin Vampire racial class, which allowed him to transform into either a wolf, bat, or fox. While this skill was activated, Raizel was unable to use any skill or magic, and most of his stats were also reduced.
In an instant, his form shifted, shrinking into the shape of a small bat. His clothes and belongings melded into his new form, ensuring nothing was left behind. With a few flaps of his wings, Raizel soared out of the window into the moonlit night. The cool night air rushed past him as he navigated above the quiet streets of E-Rantel.
As he was flying aimlessly, he heard some screams coming from a distance. Not having anything to do for the time being, he decided to investigate the cause.
~Scene Change: Some time ago~
A hooded figure was walking through the quiet alleys of E-Rantel, its steps making it seem as though it were gliding across the ground.
The figure deftly turned corners and continued advancing in a particular direction. Before long, the figure reached an intersection and shed its hood.
The figure was a young woman around twenty. She had short blonde hair and delicate features. She also wore armour made from the medals she had taken as trophies from the adventurers she had slain.
She turned to her right and gave a lunatic grin before speaking.
"How long are ya planning to hide?~" She questioned, seemingly no one in a charming, carefree tone.
A few seconds later, footsteps echoed from different alleys around her, and about 8 people surrounded her in an instant.
One of the people stepped forward, wearing heavy armour and gripping a sword in one hand. "We caught you now, murderer," he spoke in an almost growling tone.
"Who? Me? No, you have the wrong person. I am just a little girl; how can I murder someone?" she replied, trying to act innocent, though the maniacal grin on her face betrayed her true nature.
"Say whatever you like, murderer. Tonight, your reign of terror will end," he declared, taking a stance. The others followed his lead, mages pointing their staves at her while warriors unsheathed and prepared their weapons.
"It's so much trouble dealing with you all. If you just look the other way, I won't kill ya, and you'll be able to see another day. So, how about it?" she spoke in the same carefree tone.
No one replied to her, yet their answer was evident enough. The warriors began activating their martial arts while the mages began chanting their spells.
The woman's maniacal smile widened as she drew her weapons—a pair of stilettos—from her back. She lowered her body and lunged toward one of the mages who had just finished chanting his spell.
<Acid Splash>
A blob of green acid materialized before shooting toward the woman, growing larger as it approached. However, the smile on her face didn't vanish, and she activated another one of her martial arts.
"Flow Acceleration!" Her body shone red, and her speed increased dramatically. She dodged the incoming acid blob by twisting at an impossible angle.
In a flash, she was upon the mage. One stiletto pierced his shoulder, the other his crotch, causing the mage to let out a gut-wrenching screech. The mage lost his balance, and his staff clattered to the ground as he collapsed in agony.
