Abigail's fight (2)

Leon continues to stand on the ground with the Griffin unafraid of the Worm swimming in the ground underneath. He looked towards Abigail and wanted to see what she could do against this earth beast.

Abigail saw this as a time for training her beasts. She summoned the Sunlight Archer. The archer flew of the crow and stared at the ground. The archer tried to sense where the worm was going to attack for.

She pulled back the bow and aimed. It then decisively shot at the ground. The arrow fiercely hit the ground. It exploded into flames and left a small hole.

However their was no worm. From behind the archer the worm broke out of the earth and launched into the sky. It's enormous teeth filled mouth ready to swallow the archer whole.

The archer as if ready for this with out turning shot an arrow behind herself. The arrow went straight into the work's mouth and exploded. The worm's head broke into pieces and the whole body crashed into the ground.

Abigail landed with the Sunset Crow and the Sunlight Archer flying above her. She flipped her hair and a had a confident smile as if she had gone through the most easy battle in the world.

Leon clapped as he walked to her, "Well done that two Greenstar beast was no match for you. Now you just need to deal with the four others."

"Four others?" Abigail turned to look at the body of the worm. It had disappeared. She looked back at Leon and he was also in the sky smiling with a thumbs up signal.

"Does she really think low potential beasts like True Mud Worms move alone?" Leon said while shaking his head.

Abigail jumped back on her Sunset Crow. She told it to rise. However changed plans and moved forward.

As the crow moved forward to worms of similar sizes broke through the ground and went over Abigial and the Sunset Crow. The Sunlight Archer had moved back to dodge the worms.

The worms re-entered the ground. The Sunlight Archer shot the ground again with an arrow. The worm appeared behind her again. As she readied to shoot the arrow behind her, The worm looked ready for it. It's mouth wasn't filled with teeth rather it was a complete black space.

Abigail realised the direness of the situation. That ability was neutralized swallow. She had the Sunset Crow use Lightspeed to grab the Sunlight Archer and dodge the worms mouth.

Leon watched from the side on the Griffin. "Using the same trick twice? She really needs to think a bit more. No way would the worms underestimate her after she killed one of them."

Abigail also seemed to understand this fact. She could sense three of the worms underground ready to attack. But remembering Leon saying that there were four she grew even more uneasy.

The sunset crow flew high into the sky, and looked down at the ground. She could run any time she wanted. However that would only solidify that she was a weakling. She wouldn't be able to run away during a competition, so she had to face these opponents.

The crow with Abigail flew down and screeched as it released waves of orange sunset flames on the ground. The archer in the sky stood directly under the sun. She arched her back and aimed her bow at the sun. She pulled back and formed a five meter long golden arrow ready to shoot the sun down.

She then closed her eyes and concentrated. She was feeling the fire energy in the surrounding. With the fire layering the ground she would be able to feel the slightest change and shoot the worm down.

Abigail used herself as bait as she flew near the ground.

Her plan worked as three worms jumped out from the ground surrounding her from all her sides. The sunset crow glowed brighter and moved down. The worms moved continued to move over each other. Since they missed the target they would continue to slowly attack and widdle her down.

They were aware of the Sunlight Archer however they didn't understand what it was doing.

The Sunlight Archer seeing that the worms had revealed themselves shot the arrow at the sun. The large arrow disappeared the moment it was released from the bow. It appeared above the worms and pierced all three as they moved over each other.

Abigail had come out from under them and inspected their three corpses piled over one another with a gigantic golden arrow piercing through them.

Abigail took a deep breath and tried to sense where the fourth one was. After a while she couldn't find it and thought it was Leon messing with her. She turned to look at Leon on the Griffin watching her. He seemed to pointing somewhere.

She turned to look above her and saw a lonely cloud. She turned to look back at Leon wondering what he was saying. She saw Leon shaking his head in disappointed. Abigail called her Sunlight Archer back and as she was about to tell the Crow to fly to Leon. She felt a presence of a beast a meter above her.

She turned to look up to see the open mouth with layers of thoughts of razor sharp teeth spinning ready to eat her. Abigail felt her knees go weak and fell of the Crow. The Crow also noticed the worm but the worm was oddly stuck in place so it flew down and caught Abigail.

As the crow rose from the side, Abigail could see the large worm thousands of meter long coming out from the shadow of the cloud. It's body black and much thicker then the other worms.

"A peak greenstar beast, Cloud Shadow Worm." Abigail said lightly to herself. She really felt she had just cheated death.

As she wondered why it didn't attack, The worms body broke open from several places as purple icy chains broke out and started to knit through the worm and completely kill it.

Leon had the Dragon summon ice chains in the worm and bind it form the inside freezing it in place. Now he let the Dragon kill it. The technique he used was impressive but nothing to mind blowing. So he was fine revealing this much strength. The worms had a strong outer shell but internally were squishy and susceptible tovmagic so it was normal to kill them from the inside.

Abigail was midline by the site of tens of ice chains that looked to be slowly devouring the beast. As she watched Leon flew to her.

"That worm would have easily been able to kill you, but don't feel to bad I'm sure it would have also gotten the other eight as well." Leon said to the stiff Abigial.

Abigail turned to Leon, This guy was probably younger then her yet he was so much stronger. This wasn't strength your given rather it was something he had gotten himself.

"Thank you for saving my life." Abigail said in a light voice. She felt truly weak for the first time. She was the first talented person born to the Sunset Family. A family of merchants and business men that had turned to growing it's strength through cultivation, she was the Light that lit up the path for the future growth of the family.

But when she had turned thirteen she was forced into an engagement, like her talented mother from a small clan was forced to marry her father for the Sunset family's money, she was engaged to some man she hadn't even seen to produce talented children for the family's growth.

It was then she had started training like no tomorrow and now with joining the three continental competition she was freed from the engagement. It didn't matter if she was a substitute member, so she had lost some interest in growing strong. She knew she wasn't strong but she did know that she wasn't weak.

The feeling of powerless had filled her again and she was reminded of the same powerless she felt six years ago due to the engagement.

Abigail's hands turned into fists as she clenched her hands.

Leon didn't know why Abigail was just standing their staring into space but seeing her fist he felt like he had done his part of motivating her to grow stronger.

Feeling his job was done, Leon smiled. "Now I should go back to training the Griffin." Leon had the Griffin leave to another place to fight beasts.

Abigail was released from the self reflection and looked at Leon flying away. She unsummoned the Sunlight Archer and had the King Sunset Crow chase him.

"Why are you still following me, your released from your maid duty. You can go now." Leon then had the Griffin speed up.

Abigail followed behind him as fast as she could.

Leon sighed looking at her. His job was done, he would come back and decide weather he should teach her after she trains some more by herself. If he went with her now he would be just protecting her, that was Irene and Oren's job.
