Let It Go

Emma Hart shook her head, looking painfully at Riley Turner. She knew Riley was trying to trick her into giving up her ring, but hearing about Damien Sterling's condition still made her waver. Fortunately, she managed to keep her composure.

After a moment of internal struggle, she firmly shook her head. "I don't need to know how he's doing. I trust you all will take good care of him. As I've said before, if you want the ring, since Damien Sterling was the one who put it on my finger, he needs to be the one to take it off."

Riley Turner saw that Emma Hart was resolute, leaving no room for negotiation, and started to feel anxious. Getting this ring wasn't easy, but she couldn't involve the old man, as it would make her look incompetent.

Riley Turner's face paled. She hadn't realized before how stubborn Emma Hart could be, clinging to something that wasn't hers. But given what she knew about Emma, she couldn't use force either.
