Adventurer

Soon, the timer stopped and the trial concluded. Among all the applicants, only one person failed. Azrid realized that the one who failed had encountered a Tier 2 demon beast. He was unlucky as the guard was forced to move and rescue him. He didn't even have time to kill three demon beasts.

Carmon congratulated them and asked the applicants to follow him back to the Adventurer Guild on the surface. On their way, they met another group of applicants who were going to take the trial.

Adventurer Guild...

The group arrived at the Adventurer Guild, and Carmon, a staff member of the Guild, quickly processed their IDs. It didn't take more than ten minutes before he returned with all the IDs of the people who passed the trial.

"Damn, that's too fast... If it were in the past, it would take a few days before I could get my ID," Azrid thought to himself. Even his school ID took a week to receive.

From now on, he was an official Adventurer, starting at the F-rank. After finding an apartment where he could stay, Azrid called his parents.

"What happened, little Azrid? Did you pass the trial? If not, you can come back here to your mom," Milane said.

"As if my son would fail such a measly trial," Jaden said proudly, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Actually, father... I failed the trial," Azrid said, scratching his cheek with his finger.

"Eh?!" Jaden's eyes widened, and he froze in his position. He was boasting too much, and from what he could see, his son had the capability to pass the trial. So how did he fail?

"Aw, my little Azrid. Come here, and let mom take care of you. You don't need to be sad," Milane said, looking glad that Azrid failed the trial.

"Hey, is there something wrong with the trial?! Did they change it?! Did they fail to recognize the talent of my son?!" Jaden raised his voice.

"Shut up, dear! Our son needs comfort!" Milane scolded Jaden.

"I'm just kidding..." Azrid laughed dryly, finding their reaction quite amusing.

"Ehhh!!" This time, it was Milane's turn to look shocked. Her expression was a sight to behold, with her jaw hanging as if it was about to fall on the floor.

"Hahaha, you scared me there, my son!" Jaden laughed loudly.

"Little Azrid, you've changed! You even learned how to deceive your mom!" Milane said, pretending to cry. She then turned to her husband and said, "You! You're influencing our son! He will eventually leave us at this rate!"

"Hahaha, there's nothing wrong with that," Jaden continued to laugh.

Azrid smiled and narrated his experience in the trial. His parents listened worriedly despite knowing that the death rate of the trial was zero. Basically, no one had ever died while taking the Adventurer Guild's test. They were still concerned after learning that he got hurt. He was their child, after all. There was nothing wrong with it.

After the trial, Azrid reflected on his performance. He realized that his movements in real life were slightly different from those in the virtual world, and that he had reacted too slowly due to the shock of the battle. However, he knew that he could improve his skills by using the virtual cabins at the Adventurer Guild, which had a brain synchronization of 100 percent. With this level of synchronization, his avatar in the virtual world would feel like his own body, and he would be able to control it without any delay.

"I could use it to train..." Azrid smiled, thinking about the possibilities of this technology.

He remembered reading an article on his phone about the history of virtual reality. Kryvon was the person who had ushered in the era of virtual reality on earth thousands of years ago. However, he had died without a proper heir to his vast wealth, and the Ieshi Family had fallen as a result.

Azrid felt some sympathy for Kryvon, who had lived and died alone. It must have been a difficult life.

Azrid's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on his door. He went to answer it and saw a young man with messy hair and a carefree expression.

"Hey there! I heard there's a new adventurer in town. My name is Ryn, nice to meet you!" the young man said with a smile and extended his hand. He was one of the people that passed the trial along with Azrid.

Azrid shook his hand and introduced himself. Ryn then invited him to join his party for a mission.

"Sorry, I can't. I still have to train and adjust to the new environment." Azrid declined politely.

"Ah, no worries. If you change your mind, just look for me at the Adventurer Guild. I'm always up for some adventure." Ryn shrugged and waved goodbye before leaving.

Azrid sighed and went back to his room. He knew that he had to focus on training before going on any missions. He took out his training equipment and started his routine. He practiced his swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat, making sure to synchronize his movements with his mind.

After a few hours of training, Azrid felt exhausted but satisfied. He took a shower and changed into fresh clothes before lying down on his bed. He closed his eyes and let his mind wander.

He thought about his goals as an adventurer. He wanted to become stronger and reach the top rank. He also wanted to explore the world and discover new things. But most importantly, he wanted to find out the truth about his past life and why he was given a second chance.

As he drifted off to sleep, Azrid felt a sense of determination and excitement. He knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but he was ready to face any challenge that came his way.

The next day, he woke up and picked his phone on the side of his pillow. He read all things about the Adventurer Guild, including the founder and the history of its establishment.

It was like a heroic tale.

When humans first entered the interstellar era, a group of people braved through the dark and silent space. They fought different races and discovered a lot of things. They provided various information to the government, and after many years, they became pioneers of space. They took several dimensions hidden in the Milky Way Galaxy and were the first group that gained a foothold in the Demon Beast World for humans.

It wasn't an exaggeration that people called them heroes.

Demon Beast World.

It was one of the dimensions that humanity discovered in its pursuit of the universe. It was vast, and even now, humanity didn't know the full extent of the Demon Beast World. Demon beasts had low intelligence, and humanity was fortunate for that, but sometimes, the demon beasts were able to escape their world and invade the cosmos. That's why they could be seen everywhere.

After reading a few articles, he went to the bath and brushed his teeth. He quickly started his morning exercise.

Then, he washed the sweat off his body and cooked breakfast for himself.

According to the archives, people would reach their full potential of their abilities at Tier 4 and Tier 5. At that point, people would need to find all sorts of things to improve their abilities. But Azrid felt that the full potential of his ability far surpassed Tier 4 or Tier 5. Up until now, the proficiency of his [Great Devil Bodies] was only 0.57% while his [Ouroboros] had 0.1% proficiency.

So he expected a lot of things from his ability. It also provided him with an interface where he could view his status regularly. It saved him some money, so he didn't have to use it on a Status Update Crystal.

Azrid finished his breakfast. He stood up and washed the plate before he put on his equipment. Various objects were placed in the small bag on his waist and pockets. Also, the Field Armguard that he had was gone. The Field Armguard was a gadget that protected him from the attack of the wolves in the trial. The barrier was shattered, so it didn't have any more energy left.

Azrid went to the Adventurer Guild. He was an official F-rank Adventurer, so he had a certain privilege. He went to the virtual cabin station on the third floor of the building. An F-rank could freely use a cabin for an hour. If he wanted to extend, then he would have to pay a fee. One hour was too short, but what could he do? An F-rank was basically the lowest class of adventurers. If he wanted more privilege, then he had to promote his rank to a higher level.

In the virtual world, the adventurers had a special server, and it was divided into different leagues based on the rank of the adventurers. Azrid was an F-rank, so he was in the F-rank league. He could only challenge people of the same level. If he wanted to know more, then he would have to increase his rank.

In the end, it all comes down to strength.

Thanks for reading and I hope you like it.
