Chapter 3 Betrayal

Love stared out the window as she sipped wine from a glass. She loves staring at the sky at night, it gives her a sense of peace and relief. She placed a finger on her lip and thought about the feeling of Alexandar's lips on hers. She had to admit he's a really good kisser, but it did not replace the feeling of Colin's lips on hers. It was perfection, because she loved him, and he loved her, or so she thought.

Just then, she heard a knock at the door and turned turned her head from the window to the door. She looked at the clock on the wall, it is 9:30pm. She wondered who it must be at this time. She placed her glass of wine on the a small table beside the couch and made her way to the front door.

"Who is it?" Love asked.

"It's Eni", the voice answered.

Love looked throught the key hole and smiled as she saw her best friend's face. She unlocked the door and turned the know open.

"Hii", Love said with a bright smile.

"Hi Love", Eni said and hugged her and walked into the house.

"What are you doing here at this time?" Love asked as she locked the door and walked up to Eni who is sitting o the couch. She sat across her.

"I wanted to talk to you", Eni said.

"You could have called", Love said. " It's dangerous to be walking out this late at night".

"I know", Eni said. "I just had to".

Eni has been best friends with Love since they were 13. They have been inseparable ever since, they went to the same university and graduated with first class and both got good jobs and have a successful career.

Eni unlike Love is light skin, delicate and pretty. She has beautiful brown eyes, a cute pointed nose, and pink full lips. Her hair is full and puffy, similar to a virgin hair, it is dyed with a wine color, and shiny, making her look more pretty.

"So what do you want to talk about?" Love asked.

"Well..

"My bad", Love cuts in. " Do you want a drink, juice or wine? I was having wine before you walked in".

"No", Eni said with a smile. "I'm good".

"You sure?" Love asked.

"Yes", Eni said.

"Okay", Love said. "Shoot"

"I don't want you to get mad", Eni said. "I just want you to try and understand".

"Okay", Love said. "I will".

Eni cleared her throat.

"So the thing is...

Love got a notification on her phone and picked it up. She noticed it was an Instagram notification, it showed Colin just added a post. Yes, she had not unfollowed him. She was going to but decided she will do some other time.

"Love", Eni called.

"Sorry", Love said. "Just a minute".

She tapped the notification on her screen, and when it opened up to reveal the post. In that moment, it felt like all air had left her lungs. Her hands shook and her eyes became teary.

The post showed Eni and Colin, with Colin placing a kiss on Eni's cheek, and the caption saying 'I love her'

"Love what's wrong?" Eni asked. "Are you okay?"

The phone fell from Love's hand.

She looked at Eni.

"What the hell?" She said. "You..when were you planning on telling me?"

"What are you talking about?" Eni asked confused.

"I'm sure you follow Colin on instagram", Love said. "Check his recent post"

Eni took out her phone from her bag and unlocked it. She saw the notification for Colin's new post and opened it. It revealed the picture she and Colin took earlier that day.

She gasped and her eyes suddenly became teary. She looked up at Love.

"Love", She said. "It's not what you think, listen i.. this is what i wanted to talk to you about, I want you to understand that it's not what it looks like"

"Really?" Love asked as a tear spilled from her eyes. "I can clearly see that you went behind my back and now you're dating my ex boyfriend, we just broke up two weeks ago, which means you have been fucking him while we were still together . How could you do that to me?"

A tear spilled from Eni's eyes.

"We had sex once while you were both together ", Eni said. "But I knew it was a mistake so I stayed away from him, but then he said he has feelings for me and I did too. But I refused because you were still together, but then he broke up with you and came to me, and since you guys were no longer together...

"You decided to accept him ", Love cut in. "You dumb whore".

"Love please ", Eni said with crying.

"You fucking crying?" Love asked. "You hooked up with my boyfriend and got together with him two weeks after our breakup. And you dare to cry?"

"I know I'm wrong", Eni said.

"No you don't ", Love said.

"Listen..I..

"And i would have never done this to you"Love said crying. "I would have never done this to you".

"Love I'm sorry", Eni said.

"You are dead to me", Love said. "You mean nothing to me anymore, absolutely nothing"

"You don't mean that", Eni said.

"I mean every word", Love said. "There is nothing between us anymore, nothing fucking between us".

"Love I didn't mean to hurt you", Eni said.

"Get out right now!" Love yelled

"Okay", Eni said, tears spilled from her eyes as she looked at him one more time before she turned around and made her way to the door. She unlocked it and turned the door open. She stepped out and closed the door behind her.

Love let out a sigh and shut her eyes.

She opened her eyes after a few seconds and buried her face in her hands, she sobbed.

Her heart hurt so much more than when Colin broke up with her. She can't believe her bestfriend betrayed her. She didn't expect that from her. How could she do that to her?

They have been best friends for years, she trusted her. She trusted her so much.

She removed her hands from her face and walked up to the door. She locked the door and leaned against the door. Her heart is broken, her pride her trust, all broken.

More tears spilled from her eyes as she sobbed against the door and sat on the floor with her back leaning against the door. It hurts so much she feels like she can't breathe. She feels so suffocated with pain.

"Don't cry", Love said to herself. "You're fine, you're fine, don't cry". She wiped her tears. "You'll be okay, everything will be okay", she assured herself.
