Amelia's POV

My heart was pounding loudly, I wasn't ready to talk to him yet. Even though my mind was warning me not to pick up the call, I unconsciously pressed the green button.

Damn- I screamed in my mind when the call got connected. Having no other option, I quickly put the phone closer to my ear.

"Hello," I tried to sound calm but I was wrecking nervous.

"Are you okay? I was worried about you." A small gasp escaped my mouth upon hearing that.

What? He's worried about me? But why?

I tried to grasp what he said, but I couldn't understand how should I answer him. Our current situation was quite complicated. He must be worried about me, out of courtesy. Those words might not mean anything to him. Yet, why does it feel like-
