Chapter 9: COMA

Josh PoV:

I woke up. Even though staying in the pod keeps me alive and healthy, not moving my muscles still affected my motor control to some point.

First thing I did was checking the , surprisingly it's been 7 months since the day particle accelerator exploded. I woke up two months before Barry, this should give me enough time prepare for the upcoming events.

I removed my special suit , and found a well defined body, even though i previously had a well built body , now it seems like a sculpted body of Hermes with its own charm .

I tried to tap into my powers , as I tried to vibrate my hand a bluish white lightning coated by body .

And suddenly, in a moment I noticed everything around me seemed to frozen in time, normally it would mean I reach flashtime but I who just reached the base of a speedster still had a long path ahead to reach that level.

'BE STRONG MY VANGUARD' were said in my ear in a soft tone. And everything returned to normal .

I could only guess it was the speed force . But ' vanguard' so I guess I should be some kind of warrior considering Barry should be something like this but never received such a message in the original story. I guess I am a special existence since there was nobody like me.

Considering that 7 months passed and being incognito, my family must be worried.

I grabbed my phone and saw dozens of messages , emails and calls. I immediately called my parents.

PARENTS POV:

'It's been 7 months and no word from this boy, with the explosion in the city and news that Barry was struck by lightning still brings me so much pain' mom

'Honey , it's Josh he's calling us!!!' Dad

The couple lifted the call and were eager to hear their son's voice.

Josh PoV :

"Hi mom, hi Dad, sorry for not contacting you guys for these past few months"

"Boy you gave us a scare, don't you know your parents were waiting for a single message from you ." My parents screamed

"sorry sorry sorry,I will back in one day , and my research has made ground breaking progress" I replied

"anyway , you must have heard there was an explosion at star labs , that quack of a scientist destroyed the city and took many lives and stripped many of their livelihoods." My mom said angrily.

"one of them being Barry, he was struck by lightning and fell into a coma and that sicko wells took him saying that he well keep him stable " my dad finished .

"Let's discuss more tomorrow after I arrive." I replied earning a nod from my parents .

I have 24 hours, so let's check my current prowess.
