A 7-year-old boy who was supposed to lead a normal life receives the power of a mysterious powerhouse. Unfortunately, his parents sold him off to scientists interested in his power. Arriving at the laboratory, Xion discovers he isn't the only one to have been abandoned by his family... —————— This is a work of fan fiction using characters from the One Punch Man world, which is written by ONE. The story I tell here about Xion is my invention, and it is not purported or believed to be part of ONE's story canon. This story is intended for entertainment only and is not part of the official storyline. I am grateful to ONE for his wonderful story about One Punch Man, for, without his webcomic, my story would not exist. AN: Cover is not mine.

Finally, an opportunity arose to get stronger has finally arrived.

Until now, there wasn't much progress since I've been playing with Tatsumaki and there was nothing much to do in this tiny cell.

"Wait!" Seeing Derald leaving, I asked, "Can you organize a duel for me?"

"Why should I do that? And for what reason do you want to fight in the first place?"

"This way we can test my power potential to see how effective it can be against other people."

Putting his hand on his chin, Derald said before locking the door, "We do already have some people here so it's not big of a deal...I will discuss it with Dikke and hear his opinion about it."

As I prepared myself to get up, Tatsumaki prevented me from doing so by gently pushing my chest against the wall.

"No need to bother ourselves like that."

With just a glance, the documents slowly came floating towards us, defying the law of gravity.

Incredible.

Hovering her body in the air is even a possibility but it, unfortunately, requires power to sustain.

Not minding the curious Tatsumaki, I started reading the report.

"Your blood type has changed and its type is currently unknown...Did you perhaps become an alien?"

How is this possible...

Even though I don't possess much science knowledge, this should not be something ordinary.

As an idea to tease her came to my mind, I said, "What if I am? Are you scared?"

"Hmpf" Crossing her arms, Tatsumaki continued, "Whatever you are, you will still be my teddy bear."

Although it might be strange, her words somehow bring a subtle smile to my face.

Why don't I dislike that idea?

Together, we were able to comprehend most of the things but there were still some parts of which we didn't understand due to their complexity.

Another surprising discovery is that my blood doesn't reject any other type, meaning that it can both receive and give to any type.

So if Tatsumaki gets heavily injured and needs a blood transfusion, I can provide mine to her.

Finishing reading, she remarked, "What a convenient blood you have."

It's true but still...

Possessing something so mysterious coursing through my body can be quite anxious.

"It's better to be cautious with it as we still don't know anything much about it."

"Ah!" With a sudden movement, Tatsumaki exclaimed, "You haven't revealed me your power yet. This is not fair. I had shown you mine so you must also do it."

It is true that even after knowing each other for a month, she still doesn't know anything...

"Sure." After saying this, my hands turned into bloody black claws, earning a gaze from her.

Before letting Tatsumaki get cut, I warned her, "Don't touch them. They are sharp."

"They are beautiful, even shining a little," she mutters, her eyes still fixed at my claws.

By playing with them in the past, I discovered that the red parts glow in the dark, with a fire-like movement.

The next morning, Sho, the man who acted as if he was on holiday back then came to report good news.

"Dikke has found an opponent for you. Go and have fun."

Already?

Glancing at Tatsumaki, I asked, "Can she come along?"

After playing together for a month, leaving her alone like that didn't seem right.

Luckily for us, Sho just shrugged his shoulders and continued his way, not waiting for us.

Not wanting to miss the fight, I grabbed her hand and hurried to catch up to the man.

Another reason why I wanted to bring Tatsumaki along is to smell the fresh air and see the blue sky again...

There wasn't any area big enough to fight and doing it inside the building would make a mess.

Finally outside...

This amazing, yet annoying sensation of having the wind messing up my hair. My chest feels so much lighter than a puppy's that the wind might blow me away.

Despite protecting her eyes from the bright light, a rare smile was on her face.

Seeing Tatsumaki smiling is worth anything...

Unfortunately, Derald interrupted our good moment, "What are both of you doing by standing in a daze like that?"

As expected, they have prepared many people at their side in case we try to escape.

"Your opponent is Ghost. Proficient at ninjutsu, he had trained in a ninja village and with his speed, you won't be able to follow his movement. But don't worry, Sho and Derald had asked him to go easy on you."

My opponent's attire consisted of a black ninja garb completely covering his face and body. What attracted my attention was his claw-like weapon in each of his hands.

Because of having only been a normal person in the past, I don't have any fighting experience.

However, in a battle of claws, I have the advantage...
