A Revolutionary Discovery

"Another good day of reading," I said with content.

I was at the pier today reading my worries away.

Zoro's been bothering me again with his challenges, I already fought him yesterday! Just because I have good stamina doesn't mean I have a good mental one…

I'm currently walking back to the dojo and when I get there I see some of the disciples running around carrying stuff.

I go to one of them to see what's going on.

"Hey! Why are all of you carrying stuff?"

"Some people on a ship arrived on the island! We need to get this stuff on their ship!"

There are other people on the island? Let's go investigate…

"Thank you," I turned around and walked away, waving my hand.

If there are people here, they're most likely inside the dojo talking with Koushirou.

Walking inside, I see someone talking to Koushirou. I can't see anything that could expose his body since they are covered with a cloak, but I could at least tell they are male.

"Ah, Noah! I see that you're back from reading. As you can see, we have a guest with us today." Koushirou said.

"Yes sensei, I'm sorry about that. I lost track of time." I said, rubbing the back of my head.

"You're fine, we were about to finish away." Said the cloak figured. He had a hoarse, raspy voice.

It sounds familiar…what is with me and recognizing voices?!

"Who is he?" I point at the guy.

"He's here to pick up some supplies. Apparently, something happened at an island nearby and they need our help. Why don't you introduce yourself to him." Koushirou suggested.

Uh…ok?

"My name is Arc D Noah, it's nice to meet you sir." I bow to him.

"Arc D Noah, huh…" He repeated.

He seemed slightly surprised about my name, I wonder why… does he know me…? I certainly don't know him.

"My name is of no importance to you…it's safer if you didn't know it." He said cryptically.

I tilt my head in confusion, just who is he?

"What do you want to do in life, kid?" He said.

That came out of nowhere...why does he want to know that? Either way, I look at him with a serious expression.

"I want to live a valiant life."

"That's some dream you have, kid. And a dangerous one at that." I can't tell because of his cloak, but I feel like he raised one of his eyebrows at me, amused with my dream.

You aren't the first one to say that…and you're not the one who's going to dissuade me.

"You're one to talk, your life must be pretty dangerous if you can't tell me your name." I countered.

"Noah! That's no way to speak with a guest," Koushirou scolded me.

"Heh heh, he's fine. He is right after all." He waved me off, clearly not offended.

"Hey Koushirou-san, do you have space left for one more kid to live here?" He suddenly asked.

"Yes, I do in fact. Why do you ask?"

"I have a kid with me who doesn't have a home. I don't know what to do with him, but he should be fine with a friend like him around." He said while pointing at me.

"Oh, then alright. I'm sure whoever you bring will become great friends with Noah. People always seem to like being around him." Koushirou commented.

Do I really have that effect on people…

"That's even better. Follow me, the kid is on the ship." The cloaked man said, walking away.

Koushirou and I followed him to his ship.

He gave us the rundown on what happened to him. He was running away from a terrible living situation at home by boat when he was shot down by a noble...

Koushirou was saddened to hear the fate of the boy…but I'm a different story.

Wait…I know who he is talking about! And if that's the case then the person I was talking to is…!

"Captain! The boy is up!"

I look up and spot the boy everyone is talking about.

He has bandages around him, he looked like he was 10. He has black boots and blue shorts with a blue overcoat on. He has a short, blond afro and a black top hat with goggles around it.

I know who this boy is…he's Sabo!

So the person I was talking to this whole time was…Monkey D Dragon!

"Welcome to your new home, kid. This kid right here will look after you." Dragon said as he walked over and pat Sabo on his shoulder, pointing at me.

"I-I hope we can be friends, aniki!" Sabo nervously said while clumsily bowing to me.

…what did I get myself into.
