"Let see...
I wanna learn how to create lightning!" Nyx exclaimed with a smirk.
Vegapunk slightly frowned at Nyx's choice.
"Nyx, while you are talented, immediately going to something like lightning as your first element is a bit much-" While Vegapunk was speaking he noticed Nyx seemingly in a daze.
"Are you even listening!?" Vegapunk huffed angrily.
"Yeah, I just noticed something that I never noticed before." Nyx absently replied as even with his eyes covered by a blindfold, one could see his brows furrowed.
"Hmm, what is it?" Vegapunk calmed down and looked at Nyx confusedly.
"There's a sort of invisible barrier surrounding me, I think the only reason I noticed it now is because of my new vision." Nyx explained as his brain seemed to slowly start to understand this so-called invisible barrier as he focused onto it.
"An invisible barrier? Do you know what it protects you from?" Vegapunk questioned with a raised brow.
"That's the thing, it protects me from nothing-" As Nyx was speaking, his eyes widened as information entered his brain as he started to understand what the barrier is.
"Now I understand! As for what I was saying, currently, the barrier protects me from nothing, it seems to have been around me since I awakened Haki." Nyx started walking around in circles with his one hand under his chin as he wrapped his brain around this ability.
"I think my subconscious mind has had it continuously activated. I believe the reason it protects me from nothing is that I haven't consciously controlled it, it's sort of like a filter system. And it spreads about a few feet around me." Nyx finished as he stopped moving and looked toward Vegapunk who seemed to be writing stuff down in his journal.
"Quite interesting, but how is this so-called barrier powered?" Vegapunk questioned as he looked back up toward Nyx.
"The real interesting thing is that it's powered by Haki-"
"Haki!? Of course, why haven't I thought of that!? Haki itself can be considered a type of vector, it's a spiritual energy that is awakened in individuals. It has both the magnitude and direction that a vector is supposed to be, so in a sense, you could manipulate it! While it could be considered not that unique because everyone can manipulate Haki, maybe you don't have to follow the fundamental laws of Haki as we do!" Vegapunk abruptly cut off Nyx and joyfully started to write in his journal again.
Nyx chuckled at Vegapunk's eagerness for learning about his powers.
"Apologies young Nyx, I can be a bit jovial when it comes to such interesting things." Vegapunk calmed down and rubbed the back of his neck as he had an apologetic smile on his face.
"So from what you told me, it's similar to a filter system and obviously by the ability of your powers, you can most likely filter out vectors from even touching you? Is that correct?" Vegapunk questioned.
"Yeah pretty much." Nyx nodded.
"But what about your Haki? How come you never felt the lack of Haki when this barrier was activated?" Vegapunk questioned once again.
"The cool thing is, it's like the energy used for the barrier is being constantly recycled back to my reserves. For example, It seems I've been constantly exuding Haki since I awakened it which was a few months after I ate my fruit. So I assumed that the amount of Haki I had was normal, which is why I never noticed." Nyx crossed his arms as he explained.
"I see, I see." Vegapunk nodded in understanding while writing.
"Okay! We've gotten a bit off-topic, if that's all, I'll add some training techniques for you to train that barrier. Anything else?" Vegapunk questioned.
Nyx simply shook his head.
"Alright and as for you wanting to learn lightning, I recommend we do that after learning the more basic elements." Vegapunk advised seriously.
"What's the worst that can happen doc? Haha, don't worry, if I fail the first time, I'll do as you say." Nyx chuckled as he playfully tapped the side of Vegapunk's shoulder.
"If you wish too, then so be it." Vegapunk shrugged once seeing Nyx's confidence.
"The first thing you'll need to do is sense the electrons, neutrons, and protons in the Oxygen particles you can see now. These will probably be the hardest, while atoms are everywhere, they are quite smal-"
"Done!" Nyx suddenly declared.
"Done?" Vegapunk questioned confusedly.
"Yeah, I can already see and understand the electrons, protons, and neutrons." Nyx smirked as he spoke.
"W-what? How?" Vegapunk questioned with his mouth agape.
"My vision is practically crystal clear, I can definitely see better like this than normal. And to answer your question, as soon as I finished understanding Oxygen, I was already attempting to detect the actual electrons, protons, and neutrons, which was one of the reasons why I was so focused earlier. But as I was concentrating on the electrons and stuff, I eventually noticed the barrier. Give or take, maybe it took me the past 15 minutes which is considerably longer than when I detected the Nitrogen or Oxygen." Nyx shrugged as he explained.
Vegapunk just stared at Nyx with widened eyes in shock.
'Maybe if it's him, he could really manipulate lightning without even learning the other elements first.' Vegapunk thought inwardly as he calmed himself down.
"As expected, it seems I've underestimated you." Vegapunk remarked as helplessly shook his head.
"Let's continue." Vegapunk added.
Nyx simply nodded and waited for Vegapunk's instructions.
"Okay, first let's fix your wording, you most likely want to learn how to create electricity, not explicitly lightning right? Lightning is a type of electricity..." Vegapunk deadpanned.
"Yeah yeah, that's what I meant." Nyx rolled his eyes under his blindfolds.
"Okay to create electricity, simply put, you need to free the electrons from the atoms, which will in turn create an electrical charge. And then you have to control said electrons and make sure they do not escape your control. If they escape your control, they will be attracted to their opposites, which are protons, and get out of control. But rememember electrons are constantly moving and so are protons. Also depending on how many electrons you condense, the power varies." Vegapunk explained as he looked at Nyx who was still confidently smiling.
'At least he seems to be serious when it comes to learning.' Vegapunk thought inwardly.
"Alright begin with Oxygen and don't get confused when you see two atoms inside one Oxygen molecule/particle, that's normal." Vegapunk stated as he took a few steps back, to stand behind Nyx.
Nyx looked at Vegapunk confusedly.
"Don't you wanna back up further?"
"I thought you were confident? Don't worry about me, I can handle myself." Vegapunk chuckled as he waited for Nyx to begin.
Nyx shrugged and his face went serious as he extended his hands forward and concentrated.
Nyx concentrated on one white Oxygen particle since it had more electrons than Nitrogen, which in turn should make it easier.
As he concentrated, he eventually focused on the two atoms that made up the Oxygen particle, he noticed 8 electrons, 8 protons, and 8 neutrons, rotating around the nucleus or in more simple terms, the center of both atoms.
He focused on one atom as he slowly pulled the electrons off their rotational axis, which wasn't too difficult and after gathering the first few electrons, he got the hang of it and started gathering hundreds to thousands, to a million even.....
ZZZZZ!
Vegapunk started to notice statics of electricity in front of Nyx's extended hands as the humming noise entered his ears.
'He's actually gonna do it!?'
Vegapunk excitedly watched as Nyx gathered more and more electrons.
Suddenly, Vegapunk started to frown and yell toward Nyx.
"Nyx! That's far too much for you to control currently! Slowly release the free electrons back into the atmosphere and don't do it too fast!!-"
Until it was too late.....
Boom!
Suddenly a small explosion went off right in front of Nyx as he was forcefully launched back.
A cloud of black smoke lingered in Nyx's previous position.
Thud!
Nyx himself roughly landed on his back a few meters away from his previous position.
Vegapunk helplessly shook his head as he watched Nyx not moving from his position.
'He could have succeeded if he hadn't gone so cocky.'
Vegapunk walked over to Nyx who simply lay there with his arms crossed as if he was in thought.
"I doubt that hurt you, what are you laying there for?" Vegapunk questioned as he stared down at Nyx.
"I'm thinking.... Okay, thinking time is over, let me try again!" Nyx abruptly got up before doing some stretches with a smile as if he was preparing for a battle.
"Nyx I th-"
"Doc, trust me." Nyx simply said before walking back to his previous location.
Vegapunk sighed but still backed off, he was curious to what Nyx would do.
'I failed last time because I failed to keep my concentration and my control over the electrons started to slip, but the fact is, to maintain over a million electrons is something that should be impossible. But I have a better idea.' Nyx thought inwardly with a smirk before extending his hands forward like before.
After a few minutes of silence, Vegapunk was getting a bit confused as he noticed Nyx seemed to still hadn't done anything.
"Nyx is everything alright?" Vegapunk questioned but to no avail as Nyx simply didn't say anything.
Vegapunk decided to wait.
After 15 more minutes passed, Vegapunk was about to walk toward Nyx, until he suddenly saw flashes of purple light start to head toward Nyx.
From all directions, flashes of purple light would dash in front of Nyx's hands before suddenly disappearing, and as they were disappearing, a purple ball of lightning started to slowly form in front of his hands, as it grew in size.
Whooshh!
The winds themselves started to violently thrash around at the sudden change of atmosphere.
Nyx's hair started to violently shake as the wind started to change.
'Wait a minute.... Is this what I think it is?' Vegapunk fell on his ass, as he stared at the growing purple ball of static in front of Nyx.
'Did he just understand what a photon is? Just like he did with Nitrogen, Oxygen, and an atom itself. If I'm not wrong, he's making one electron absorb thousands of photons from the surrounding atmosphere in order to excite the charges, which will, in turn, create an anion atom that will be negatively charged that can be converted to electricity....'
'But one atom shouldn't be able to absorb so many photons, unless.... Don't tell me! Is he simultaneously combining electrons and photons at the same pace into one atom!? He's basically fusing the electrons into one body while simultaneously absorbing the photons into the electrons, which in turn, creates one immensely powerful atom which he is currently condensing and can release in whatever direction.' Vegapunk could do nothing but look at the back of Nyx who seemed to be slowly decreasing his output since releasing such a powerful attack could cause immense damage.
This time, Nyx made sure to control such a powerful attack and slowly decreased the size of the purple ball of electricity, until it completely disappeared.
The winds also calmed down.
'Whew, just understanding what a photon is took me over 20 minutes. But it seems as I grow this power, the more creative I become in order to use it.' Nyx inwardly thought as he glanced at his hands with a smile.
"Are you okay?" Once Vegapunk regained his bearings, he immediately ran toward Nyx.
Nyx glanced at Vegapunk.
"Haha, what did I tell you..." Nyx suddenly stopped talking.
Drip.
Feeling something dripping from his nose.
He swiped his hand under his nose and saw red blood.
"Hehe, maybe I'm not oka-"
Nyx lightly laughed as he couldn't finish his words and slowly closed his eyes as he started falling face-forward.
Vegapunk immediately went in front of Nyx and caught him on his shoulder.
"I gotcha."
'All those calculations must have taken a toll on him, I'll have to create exercises that can increase his overall brain endurance.' Vegapunk thought before dragging Nyx toward the medical bay.

MIhawk and P-17 could be seen in the white hallways, as they eventually appeared in front of a certain metal door.
'Nyx said he was probably gonna do closed training for his remaining stay here. His strength will probably increase, in order for me to not fall behind, I'll have to get just as strong.' Mihawk determinedly thought as he watched P-17 use the eye recognition on the door before it opened.
Mihawk followed P-17 in the bright white futuristic room, it was empty with only one capsule in the middle.
"So this is the so-called capsule that will increase my physical attributes?" Mihawk questioned.
"Yes, as I told you before, it will only be a slight increase in strength because you're already decently strong from the tests we took earlier." P-17 explained as he started pressing buttons on the capsule until it suddenly opened.
"You may enter when your ready."
'While this is risky to trust such strangers, taking risks is part of life.' Mihawk had a slight smile as he abruptly hopped in the capsule, surprising even P-17 who thought he would hesitate.
"Good luck." P-17 simply nodded before closing the capsules.
Mihawk slowly closed his eye's with a smile.
'I don't need luck.'
