Valerie's POV
He leaned lazily on his swivel chair and twirled it slowly while staring skeptically at me. I coughed lightly, then looked away from him. This is one of the characters which I lack and which is as important as hell. I seriously can't pretend at all, but I ain't going to let Christine know a thing about my past.
"Who's Herod? The question sounds so funny to me, that's why I didn't reply immediately." I said after composing myself.
"Are you certain that you haven't heard that name before nor seen anyone by that name?" He asked with a raised brow, and I felt guilt and nervousness wash all over my body.
"I don't know him, why would he come to the hospital to visit my mom? It must be a mistake by the nurses," I said, standing on my feet. I guess that I looked very suspicious when I stood up, but I couldn't help it.
"Okay, you can go inside my mini apartment and wait for my assistant to bring you the contract.
