The room was buzzing with activity - nurses huddling together in small groups while doctors hurried about with clipboards under their arms.

One woman was just finishing up a report when they entered, her eyes widening in surprise at their presence. "What are you doing here?" she snapped angrily.

"We're looking for someone," Damien said simply, trying to keep his tone cool despite his growing frustration.

The woman smirked knowingly before pointing towards two empty chairs at the back of the room. "They just came in," she said cryptically before moving on without another word.

A doctor came back with the bad news - elena's body was unstable and they would need to bring her into the operating room immediately. Damien sat there for a long time, feeling numb and empty inside. He couldn't believe this was happening again - first his father and now his wife.
