For a Friend

"Oh Jane, thank goodness you're home." Her grandma hugged her shortly as worry starting to etch on her face the moment she stepped in the house. "Are you alright? What happened to you? What happened to Lisa? What happened at the party?" She asked searching Jane's eyes looking for an immediate answer. "We just saw the news and was about calling you. Are you alright?"

"Grandma," she said holding her hands firmly. "I'm fine. There's nothing..."

"Jane.." Her father called out running down the stairs and hugged her. "Thank goodness you're alright." He said pulling away from the hug. "What happened? We just saw the news. And Lisa, where's she? How's she? Is she okay?"

She stared at both her dad and grandma and let out a sigh.

"Grandma, dad, I'm fine. Lisa's also fine."

"Then what happened at the Wang's party yesterday?" Her dad asked looking curious.

"Jane tell us everything. We want to know everything." Her grandma said in a creased brows.

"Dad, grandma....."

"That jerk." Her father said in a gritted teeth. "How dare he did that to my daughter."

"Dad, please be calm now. I'm fine now. We all should be worried for Lisa. Is her face that's on all the news channel now."

"And Lisa, how's she? What did she say? How's she coping will all this?" Her grandma asked looking extremely worried.

"She's fine. But I must say that I really don't know how she's gonna cope with all this. I don't know what her family will do now."

"He deserved that." Her father said looking more angry. "I'd have done worst if I were there."

"Dad..." she said holding on to his arms, "it's alright. Please be calm. Please."

"Yes son. You need to be calm. Jane's fine, so let's think of a way to help Lisa out of this mess. She needs us more than ever."

Jane nodded in agreement.

"How do you think we should help her." Her dad asked now in a calm tone.

"I don't know dad. But you know Lisa never asks for help. She even told me she doesn't need my help and that she'll find a way to resolve this whole mess. But I think she do need my help. I'll just find a way to help out."

Everyone went quiet for a while before her grandma broke off the silence. "It's okay now. Go to your room and have some rest. I guess you must be exhausted from all these." She nodded and stared at her dad and left.

In the Chen's family house.

"What have you done?" A woman's voice yelled at Lisa.

"But mom, I only did what I had to.."

"Did what you have to?" She echoed back those words gritting her teeth angrily.

Lisa's mom was the older version of Lisa. They both had same facial personalities, but a bit older than Lisa. She was extremely beautiful. Beautiful as the goddess of earth or the sea. Her blonder hair and green eyes were like that of Lisa's. Even though not as tall as Lisa, she was tall and skinny. A bit old but still looking graciously beautiful at this age. There were no signs of wrinkles or ageing on her face, because she had taking good care of her skin using the latest advanced creams and anti-aging to take good care of her skin. She was wearing a white cheongsam and a white ogi fan on her hand, and her makeup was nude.

"Yes mom. He deserved it. He was assaulting my friend. I only taught him...."

A hot slap landed on her face, making her not to complete her words. She was expecting a slap but not too soon.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from that low life wretched girl." She said more angrily, gritting her teeth tight and her blood boiling within her in anger. "You always get in trouble because of that poor low rat girl." This time her voice higher than ever. "If it wasn't for that low life brat of a girl, you wouldn't have been in this situation. Now just look at what you've done. Your face is all over the internet and on all news channel Lisa. Because... because of that low life brat of a friend."

"Stop it mom." She said raising her voice at her. "Stop calling her names. She's my friend okay. I will do anything and everything for her because that's what friends are for."

"You little stubborn br...." She yelled raising her hand to slap her again.

"Sia...." A man's voice called out loudly, causing her hands to be hung up on the air. "Stop this madness now." Her hands dropped back to her side and her breathing heavy. "She did nothing wrong in helping her friend. He deserved everything she did to him."

"Tsh.. Like father like daughter." She said in a calm angry tone gritting her teeth and now facing her husband who was few meters away from her. "Mr Li Chen, why don't you knock some senses into your daughter's head uhn. If you hadn't pampered her this much and took her sides all the time, she wouldn't behaved cheap and low class like her friend when she's from a very wealthy family."

"Mrs Sia Chen, I won't let you call my daughter names." He said approaching and staring at her furiously.

"Do you realize the damage your so-called daughter caused? Because of her negligence, because of your daughter, paparazzis are right outside waiting on us. Do you realize what this little brat of a girl did, uhn?"

"Enough." He yelled out louder. "I said I won't let you call my daughter names. Don't you ever call her such names like that. You get it."

"Dad. It's okay." Lisa said approaching her dad. She held his hands and made him look at her. "I'm fine. It's okay. You....you should be calm, please." She said in a calm tone.

"Arrrgh," she yelled angrier than ever. "You both deal with this mess yourselves, father and daughter." She said and walked out furiously ascending to the grand staircase.

"Don't worry dear, I'll take care of your mom."

"It's okay dad. I completely understood her, and she have the right to be mad at me. Just please have some rest. Your blood pressure might get high again. Please, let me handle all this myself."

He sighed and let out a faint smile and touched her chin. "Okay. Just take care of yourself."

"I will." She said and he walked away.
