Just because I do not get those kinds of Quest, it does not mean that I cannot make use of those Quests for my own ends. Power leveling Alex to the point that he can take down a Titan by himself isn't really the main goal. Nor it is finding a sure way to take my mother outside what essentially is a war zone.
No. It is for me. Just for me. Selfishly even.
I need to be much more stronger than I was the first time around, in terms of Wealth, Prestige, Power, and more. Despite doing everything that can be done previously, I just did not have the power to save those who matters the most to me, either by being too late or being oblivious to their sufferings.
Therefore, this is a chance to live without those kinds of regrets.
"That's…" Alex utters. "… awesome! But what happen if they decide to wipe my memory afterwards?"
Upon completing a Transmigrator or Reincarnation Quest, the player is sent back to their original body on their original world within their original dimension. Any memories, abilities, techniques, loots, XP, and so on are almost always taken away. Of course, they will get some rewards for their trouble, but those rewards for completing the Quest is miniscule compare to what can obtained during the Quest itself.
That is always the case. Just like we should not straight up kill the Dungeon Boss when we can use the Dungeon to farm for XP and item. There are plenty of things to mine from the Dungeon too, and most people (I should say companies) figure this out pretty early and make sure to maximize their profits.
Dungeon is not just a ticking timebomb due to Dungeon Break, but it is a goldmine.
"If I do this right, it doesn't really matter if they wipe your memory or not, Alex," I response. "But I am just telling you this in advance, as we need to be a little stronger first. Let me check your level."
I bring up the Party Window to have a look at what level Alex is. I am surprised to see that he is at level 7 already. Unlike me, whose level depends entirely on Wealth, Alex can level up either through fighting or through training. It is easier through fighting, as XP given by monsters (and people too) is better for leveling.
"Level 7? That's fast," I comment unnecessarily, and I didn't think those guys in the banks would have leveled Alex up that much. Perhaps it is because of my Merchant Class.
Classes that are not combat orientated like Merchant should not get involved in combat directly. But if they do, they obtain more XP than normally to offset their penalties, especially when they don't rely on the powers granted by the System.
I kill those people with Magical and Spiritual Power, and I have not gained any of those power directly from the System. I obtain them through future knowledge.
"I told you it's fast, but I think it is probably because of your class, Zan. You don't level up by absorbing monster essences, right?" Alex enquiries with the assumption that I have killed monsters. Well, I guess they can be considered that, as some people are more of a monster than monsters themselves.
Monsters kill out of necessity, for foods or to ensure the safety and procreation of their race. I did not understand this fact until I manage to talk to the monsters on equal grounds. Meaningless slaughters only benefit the true monsters.
I about to reply to Alex when I notice someone has used the Calling Cards. About time!
I hope that you enjoy the chapter.

It will help me out a lot!
