It had been a couple of weeks since Scarlett nearly ended up killing herself from feeding off her own blood. It was a huge eye opener for Ash finding her in the bathroom. He knew he had to put his foot down, and help Scarlett. Before something serious happened, It was only a matter of time.
Nobody had seen Ash or Scarlett in a while. Ash still went out to work to provide money for them both as he did not want Scarlett leaving the house. After the incident he didn't want her to be out in public while he wasn't around and end up trying to feed on her blood or, violently attack someone. He knew the only way to make sure she was safe was to keep her at home. Ash couldn't be one hundred percent sure what she could do next. Since he gave her his blood her cravings hadn't been so bad. But they were slowly starting to building up again. Ash knew it was only a matter of time before she would snap again.
Scarlett had been cooped up inside all day. While Ash was on his way home so Scarlett began making his favourite dinner; Texan BBQ ribs with roasted green beans and potatoes. When Ash came home he could smell the food drifting from the kitchen. He took a big inhale and then placed his keys on the table and took off his leather boots. He walked into the living room and took his leather jacket off and slung it over the back of a chair. Ash snuck into the kitchen and hugged Scarlett from behind.
"Hey, How have you been?" Ash asked kissing her on the cheek.
"Alright, I don't understand. Why do you keep me still locked up? i am not some fairy-tale princess. I can look after myself." Scarlett replied with a little attitude before pulling away from the hug.
"I know, But we cant risk anything. I'm worried, You haven't fed since I gave you my blood and I know your cravings have been building up since then. I don't want you snapping and hurting yourself again, or anybody else. I want to make sure you are okay. Ash said.
Scarlett sighed to herself and nodded slowly.
"I can look after myself. I know your worried, But it was just a slip up. Just once. It wont happen again. Now you are home you can you start peeling." Scarlett added handing him a potato peeler.
Ash laughed to himself and turned around and began peeling. It was so silent in the kitchen you could hear a pin drop. Ash finished, Set the table and then slid himself onto a kitchen chair and waited for Scarlett to finish cooking and plating. Scarlett slid him a plate and sat down at the opposite end with just a cup of coffee.
"Why aren't you eating love?" Ash asked tucking into his food.
"Not hungry" Scarlett shrugged.
"You want something to drink? Coffee? wine?" Scarlett asked him,
"Glass of red wine would be perfect sweetie." Ash smiled.
They didn't do the whole drinking blood from wine glasses. Scarlett use to drink animal blood and now it doesn't fulfill her cravings. They both enjoyed the sweet taste and after taste of iron in human blood.
"You know you'd make a great maid. Not to mention a cute one too." Ash laughed to himself.
"Very funny, Here." Scarlett giggled handing him a glass.
They tried acting normal, Just their normal every day lives, But they both knew in the back of their mind they kept thinking of that incident with Scarlett. Ash was worried it would happen again.
The sun began setting, The sky was turning a orange/peach colour, Everything was quietening down and Ash and Scarlett decided to go for a walk. To the near-by woods. They liked to classify themselves as "Beings of the night" so if it did get dark they would not care. Ash slipped his hand into Scarlett's and they walked further into the woods. Scarlett suddenly stopped and began coughing. her mind was a jumbled mess.
"oh no!, what's happening?, Craving again!?" raced through her mind.
"Scarlett?" Ash asked concerned.
"Y-yeah?" Scarlett stuttered.
"Are you okay? What's happening, are you craving again?" Ash asked concerned.
Scarlett coughed a bit then nodded. Ash looked around concerned. He knew that letting her feed in the middle of the night and in the woods was a bad idea in-case somebody saw them. The last thing they both wanted was something really bad happening risking their lives or endangering them or someone else. Especially when Scarlett was in a unstable place as of right now. Ash helped Scarlett to a near by tree, He rummaged around in his pockets and pulled out a little zip-lock bag, and opened it.
"W-What. What is T-that?" Scarlett pointed at the bag.
"I brought it just in case something like this happened. I know now, I figured it out, that my blood helps you calm down, It fulfills your cravings for a while. It saves you having to cut the heck out of your arm to satisfy your craving. So, Whenever you crave, I will let you drink my blood. We can't let you going off, or snapping at people in the middle of the night. Can we? It's dangerous for both of us. " Ash explained.
"A-ash, You-" Scarlett stuttered.
Scarlett was instantly cut off by the sight of Ash dragging the blade across a different section of his arm. A little further away from were faint pink/reddish lines were. They were soon to fade to permanent scars.
"Here. Drink, You need it." Ash said raising his arm up to her mouth.
Scarlett grabbed his arm, digging her long acrylic nails into his skin leaving dent marks. She placed her gentle lips on his arm and began drinking. She bit down first then retracted her teeth and began drinking his blood. Until she paused and rose away from his arm wiping her mouth.
"Is it weird that your blood makes my cravings go away. Like, Fulfills them." Scarlett said.
"No, As you said. My blood, Is the blood of a lover and I'm glad if my blood makes you calm and stable. It means we can use it when you need it or crave it and so on." Ash said smiling.
Scarlett began drinking Ash's blood again until she was grabbed by the scruff of her neck and yanked off him.
"Scarlett!" Ash yelled trying to grasp her back.
"VAMPIRE!" A random, deep voice yelled.
It wasn't exactly pitch black so Ash could see the man that grabbed Scarlett, pulling her back and close to his side.
"Get the hell off me!" Scarlett yelled as loud as she could.
Ash quickly threw the razor away, rolled his sleeve down to hide the blood and cuts. He could see the concerned expression on Scarlett's face, With the crimson blood pouring down her mouth and dripping off her chin. The only weird thing was, She didn't struggle. The man held something to her chest.
"Tell us now! Is she a vampire!" Another man yelled at Ash.
"Dammit, Fucking hunters. I knew this would happen" Scarlett whispered to herself...
