Nothing but old Ruins

A few days had passed since Scarlett had returned from the hospital after the fight with Heath that nearly took her life. None of them wanted to bring it up, nor have to deal with Heath or it happening again but, they all knew they had to. They all were in the nearby forest once the place where Scarlett was taken away from Ash by Tate and Manson who soon later were killed in vengeance. They all sat on the cool dirty floor of the forest, covered in leaves and twigs. Jacklyn was lent against her tree with her face ploughed into her phone. Ash was sat on the ground next to Scarlett and Scarlett was polishing the blade of her Katana.

It was very peaceful. The sound of the wind rustling the leaves and blowing the old ones down and away. The fresh cool breeze blew through the gaps in between the trees and the birds were singing their songs. The sky was blue and the sun was mid sky, beginning to heat the cool ground. In between the breezes, You could hear the noise of Jacklyn's nails tapping against her phone screen and the noise of a cloth being wiped against Scarlett's sword.

"Guys, What are we going to do about Heath? We need to sort this as soon as possible" Jacklyn said breaking the attention from her phone.

"I agree, I feel like since there is three of us and one of him it should be easy. Simple, we just have to kill him. The same way I and Scarlett did with Manson and Tate." Ash agreed.

"Ash, You really have no idea who Heath is. If he really wanted, he could kill me in a blink of an eye, Actually, not just me, but probably kill all of us in the blink of an eye He is much stronger than I am. I agree as well, Three against one is a very unfair battle meaning, the side with more would be in much more favour. Heath though is the strongest hunter to ever exist and I mean that. Much stronger than me. We have to be careful and really understand who we are up against here, This isn't Manson nor Tate. Heath is serious business." Scarlett explained.

"Yes, I know Scarlett. but we have to deal with him in some way. We can't just sit here and do nothing." Ash added.

"I know, But, you also have to understand who we are up against," Scarlett said back to him removing her attention from the sword.

"Omg, You guys fight like an old married couple or a bunch of kids for that matter. Like seriously, Just accept it, Ash. Scarlett knows more about Heath than either of us. Even I thought I knew him well, My own stepdad. Guess I was wrong. Do I care? uhh, Nope." Jacklyn said.

"Shut it, Jacklyn. I'm tired of your narcissistic, stupid childish comments all the time" Ash snapped.

"I know." Jacklyn laughed taking no offence to Ash's comments.

"Guys let's focus in. Right, Where would you think Heath would be staying? The Manson? What do you think Jacklyn? He's your stepdad surely you'd know right?" Scarlett questioned.

Jacklyn shook her head placed her phone in her pocket and began climbing the tree.

"No, That be too obvious would it not." She yelled downwards.

Ash nodded,

"For once, I have to agree with Jacklyn. It would be, I know of a place though. Nobody ever goes there. The last time I checked it was Abandoned. " Ash said.

"I know where you are thinking. I think I did some of the hunting training there with Manson and Heath, once or twice. Of course! He would have thought I'd forgotten about it. He would want to end it all where it all started. This is all coming together like one big puzzle. How did I not know? Jacklyn? are you gonna stop being a monkey and come with?" Scarlett exclaimed followed by a question.

"Yeah sure. Where are we going exactly? I couldn't hear you from up there." Jacklyn replied jumping down.

"An abandoned place. I remember going there with Heath and Manson many moons ago to start hunting. We use to fight each other, build my strength up and practice fighting skills. He used to bring people there too, like Vampires to train on. It was mostly one on one but that is where I am taking you both. To the place, it all started" Scarlett said beginning to walk.

Jacklyn and Ash followed behind Scarlett asking many questions about the place

"What is it like? Haunted? Dangerous?" Ash asked,

Scarlett shrugged,

"Would Heath be there?" Jacklyn asked,

Scarlett shrugged,

"Why didn't you tell us all about this before?" Ash asked,

"Because it never crossed my mind" Scarlett replied getting irritated by all the questions.

After about an hour or two of none stop walking they still hadn't reached the place.

"Scarlett? How close are we exactly? I'm getting bored of walking." Jacklyn complained

"Shut it, and get walking." Ash snapped.

Scarlett halted in her tracked and heavily sighed then turned around to face them with an angry expression.

"Both of you stop it! Otherwise, I will go by myself. You guys can settle this between you two, later on, right now we have bigger issues to deal with then you guys arguing over whatever nonsense this time. Now, let's get going. Jacklyn, We are almost there I promise you." Scarlett quickly added in.

Jacklyn glared at Ash then turned her attention to Scarlett, she shrugged and nodded then continued to walk beside Scarlett while Ash trailed behind. The place grew creepier with every step they all took. The air became much colder. You could see your breath. Many trees were covering the site so you couldn't really see anything. Kind of blocked off from the naked human eye unless really looked. The only this that hadn't aged was the path and the cobblestone and pebbles that surrounded that path. The further they proceeded the more things became aged. Rotten trees, Overgrown areas, Broken trees, Rocks, Moss and fungus everywhere. Vines and poison ivy covered most of the other areas. It was a mix of everything.

"Isn't this such a nice happy place?" Ash said with caution.

Scarlett stopped followed by a cautious nod. She took a breath and looked around placed her hand onto the hilt of her sword.

"Scarlett? Is everything okay? Is somebody there? Do you sense something?" Jacklyn questioned,

"No, it's not that. It's just the place seems so much more, Well, Intense. It's very off-putting since the last time I was here." Scarlett replied.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. Now you mention it, I feel it too. It has been years, but, let's get moving. We don't want to stand around." Jacklyn said.

They all continued to search the area for Heath. Nothing, they headed even further into the darkened, damp, cold area until they found a little abandoned building. Jacklyn and Ash both stopped a little behind where Scarlett paused

"Scarlett? What is this place?" Ash asked,"

"Trust me, You'll soon find out. This is the place Heath, Manson and I use to train at all the time. It still gives me the creeps" Scarlett explained while shivering.

Jacklyn and Ash waited further back. Confused and at ease with the place while Scarlett slowly pasted forward towards the building and stopped in front of the door which was almost falling off its hinges. The walls were made of stone and almost falling, Vines, ivy and moss covered the cracks. There was no roof, It has completely caved in. The windows had shattered, Glass covered inside and out from what Scarlett could see. Scarlett walked all the way around the back to find the whole back of the house gone. Demolished. She walked back around to the front examining the building to then find Ash and Jacklyn at the door.

"Did you guys find anything? "Scarlett questioned.

Ash and Jacklyn both looked at each other then shook their heads.

"No, Nothing. What about you?" Jacklyn replied

Scarlett shook her head,

"Nope just broken glass and fallen walls," Scarlett said.

"Screw him! Where the heck is he" Scarlett snapped throwing her fist into the nearby wall.

Jacklyn watched the wall crumble, she instantly moved her feet out the way as stones fell and rolled near her.

"Scarlett, calm down. We will find him!" Jacklyn said.

"HEATH! WHERE ARE YOU. WE ARE HERE" Ash yelled at the top of his lungs.

"Goddammit, That-. Where the heck is he. If he isn't here then he must be-" Scarlett snapped before being cut off.

There was a sudden noise of a gun trigger being pulled. Clicking noises passed through all of their ears and Scarlett's eyes widened and she slowly turned around.

"Oh, I'm here. Don't you worry." Heath said with a smirk spreading across his face.

"Heath..." Scarlett exhaled.
