The value of trust

After the horrific battle between Wayne and Damion, the next match was delayed. In the resting area, Wayne is lying on a bed, completely knocked out. As he sleeps, he hears the laughter of Hunter over and over again. The laughter in his head stops, and when he opens his eyes, the first thing he sees is Lex flying above him with a worried expression.

"Gaar!"

When Lex sees Wayne awake, he stops flying and lands on his face with tears in his eyes.

"Gaaar! Gaar! Gaar!"

"Yeah, I know Lex! I worried you! You can stop saying it, but what happened? All I remember is."

Wayne grips the sheet of the bed.

"That laughter."

"Well, if you don't remember, all you need to know is that you got disqualified for attempted murder."

Lex jumps off of Wayne's face, and when he does, Wayne sees that the one talking to him is Kage.

"What do you mean by attempted murder?"

Wayne sits up and notices that all of class one, plus Tota and Arcta, are surrounding his bed.

"Oh, guys! You're all here."

Unknown pushes past Kage.

"Hey Wayne are you alright?"

"Ummm, yeah I think I feel fine. Everything feels normal."

After hearing Wayne's response, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Akira walks over to Wayne with tears in her eyes.

"You had me so worried, Wayne! After Damion touched you, I thought the match was over, but when you broke out of his trauma fuel and went crazy, I was so scared!"

"Wait Damion!"

Selena walks over to Wayne's bed as well.

"Do you really not remember what happened after you got trapped in Damion's trauma fuel?"

"No, I don't; everything feels fuzzy."

"Well, then let me remind you."

Selena uses her mind manipulation to transfer all her memories from the battle between Wayne and Damion to Wayne's mind. With the battle finally coming back to his memory, chills go down Wayne's spine.

"I got disqualified!"

"After you broke out of Damion's trauma fuel, you went into a fit of rage. It's almost like the only thing you wanted to do was kill Hunter, who wasn't even there in the ring."

"Wait, I remember now! When I was fighting Damion, all I could see was an image of Hunter. All I could hear was Hunter."

"I read Damion's mind a few times, and he has never had a memory where someone broke out of his trauma fuel. You are probably the first one to break out of it, and I wouldn't be surprised if your reaction was a result of you breaking out of it."

Arcta waddles his way to Wayne's bed.

"Kakaka!"

"I'm sorry, Arcta; it seemed I messed up pretty badly. I'm sorry to all of you. I didn't want to be a burden for class one, and now look at me."

Paul puts his hand on Wayne's shoulder.

"You don't need to worry, Wayne; there's no need to beat yourself up over this. There are six of us in this class for a reason. The rest of us will do our part now."

Wayne looks down in shame.

"Of course"

Mr.Mink walks into the room.

"Sorry, you all. I was busy dealing with some complications. Now, if you all don't mind, can you clear out of the room? I want to talk to Wayne alone."

"Right!"

Everyone clears out of the room, and Mr.Mink pulls up a chair and sits next to Wayne's bed.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Mink. I had no idea what I was doing out there."

"It's fine Wayne I was able to clear everything up with the Nixion by making the assumption that it was Damion's powers that caused you to go wild like that. You're still disqualified, but no further action will be taken against you."

"Thank you, Mr.Mink."

"OK, now that we got that out of the way, let's talk."

"???"

"In that battle against Damion, I could tell that wasn't an effect of any power. That was completely you and you alone. Ever since you came back, you've been acting like you've been okay, but that fight proved to me that you've become unhinged after your father's death."

Wayne smiles after hearing Mr.Mink's statement.

"Thanks, Mr. Mink, but I'm completely fine. What happened out there was just a mistake."

"What I'm trying to say, Wayne, is that if you keep bearing your feelings like you are doing right now, you'll have more outbursts like the one you just had. You'll start making decisions that you'll regret for the rest of your life, and to make it even worse, those decisions will be made so much that it will start to feel normal."

"Hehe, thanks, Mr. Mink, but trust me, I'm fine. I just need to rest for a little."

"Ok, fine, but I want you to remember something."

"Yes?"

"Remember your dream. Your dream is to spread the beast kingdom so far that you'll see a beast everywhere you go. Remember Lex as well, because I guarantee you will need him to reach your goals. Never forget that. I will be talking to you later, Wayne."

Mr.Mink walks out of the room to let Wayne rest. When he walls out, Wayne looks up to the ceiling.

"Yeah, he's right. Achieving my dream is my ambition, the ambition I gained thanks to you, father."

Wayne starts to once again hear the laughter of Hunter. With an angry expression on his face, Wayne starts pulling his shirt from the collar with great force.

"But killing you will be my new ambition!"

A few minutes after this the tournament continued. With Kage, Unknown, Selena, Akra, Kai, Aurora, Liz, and Dexter sitting in the student stands, the shuffleboard starts shuffling the rest of the contestants. When done shuffling, the screen shows Selena vs. Emiko.

"There it is, folks! The fourth match of today will be Selena vs.Emiko!"

When Akira hears the announcement, she flinches and looks over to Selena. When she sees her Selena has a cold look in her eyes.

"Selena I know she's my sister but you don't have to do what I did."

Selena gets up and walks away.

"Selena!"

Kage gets up out of his seat and sits next to Akira.

"I suggest you sit back and watch because Selena is about to put class in session haha!"

"Wait, what do you mean?"

Kage smiles cockily after hearing Akira's question.

At the same time, Selena is walking to the left side of the battlefield. She ties her hair into a ponytail, throws off her dress to reveal her sports bra and shorts, and breaks the heel of her high heels to make them flat-footed. With Selena now in "Selena battle mode," she walks out to the battlefield once her name is called.

"Now from the right corner is Emiko!"

From the right exit of the field, Emiko walks out. Both of the girls walk up to Mr.Zane.

"To think the first round I was matched up against my sister, and now I gotta fight the number two of class one bet my father set this one up to. So what are you going to do? Let me guess you're going to be like my dumbass sister and forfeit!"

"Fight!"

The second the match starts, Selena punches Emiko in the throat. Emiko falls to the ground while holding her throat. As she gasps for air, Emiko looks up at Selena and sees the cold look in her eyes. Selena kicks Emiko in the chin so hard that it forces her to stand up. She then grabs Emiko by the collar and looks her directly in the eye.

"Now you go ahead and tell me, do I look like Akira to you?"

Selena lets go of her and hits her with a kick to the face.

"Come on tell me?"

Selena starts to punch and kick Emiko over and over again with no remorse. In the student stands, Akira has covered her mouth in shock. 

"I've never seen Selena act like this. She would usually have ended the match as quickly as possible, so I don't understand what's going on right now!"

"Haha!"

"Why are you laughing Kage?"

"Come on, you really haven't realized by now! Out of all of us, Selena was the most upset about what happened to you in the first round, and now she's about to teach your sister down there a lesson, but I gotta admit she's kind of scary when she's angry."

"Really"

Tears start to build up in Akira's eyes as she says, "Selena."

Back on the battlefield, Emiko has been beaten bloody.

"I don't want to beat you too badly since you are Akira's sister, but let me tell you something. Trust is something more valuable than anything you can think of, including life! Trust is the foundation of the world we live in, which is sad because trustworthy people might as well be extinct!"

Selena goes and picks Emiko up by the collar once again.

"But you are worse than an untrustworthy person! You throw good people away people that you can trust! Do you know how lucky you are to have someone as kind-hearted and trustworthy as Akira by your side?" 

"Trustworthy? That girl ruined my life! I suffer every day because of her!"

"I see you're a fool who must be shown to understand."

Selena starts to transfer memories from Akria's past into Emiko's mind.

Emiko starts to see a vision of the conversation Akira had with Chris Sato after he revealed he was trying to assassinate Emiko. Emiko starts to hear the conversation the two of them had.

"Hey, Father!"

Chris looks over to Akira, who has an angry expression on his face.

"What is it, Akira? If you are still on about Emiko, forget it."

"Stop trying to kill her!"

"And why should I? She's a waste of space. If I can make something out of her pointless life, then wouldn't that be a better use of her life?"

"If you keep trying to kill her, I'll kill you!"

"Ha! You might be strong Akira, but you can't do anything to me."

"OK, then, if that's all you have to say! I'll just go ahead and kill myself, so then you won't have me as your tool anymore."

Chris instantly turned around after hearing what Akira said.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Akira? You're really going to end your life over that pathetic waste of space?

"Yes! Now you either leave my sister alone or you lose me completely!"

"You realize I can have you locked away and monitored constantly."

Chris looks into Akria's eyes and sees her determination.

"Tch, if I did that, you would be useless to me! Fine, I will stop trying to kill that thing you call your sister but you must promise me one thing."

"What!"

"You must be the most useful tool, or this deal is off."

"Fine!"

After the vision finishes, Emiko returns to reality. Selena drops her to the ground, and Emiko sits up. With a face full of disbelief, Emiko starts talking to herself.

"That's impossible. That selfish bitch who took everything from me protected me? It's a lie, a complete lie!"

Emiko looks up at Selena.

"You are using your powers to try to trick me! My sister would never do something like that! All she does is take and take! And you sit there and talk about trust! What the hell do you know about trust because it seems you don't have someone trust yourself?"

Selena breathes heavily.

Selena starts walking up to Emiko.

"What! You realize I'm right! You both think you're so mu—"

Selena slams her left heel on Emiko's head, which completely knocks her out.

"That's it! The winner of the fourth round is Selena!"

Selena starts to walk away from Emiko with the same cold expression on her face.

"You disgust me! Not everyone has the luxury of having someone like Akira to put their trust in."

Selena looks back at Emiko, who is knocked out on the ground.

"You ever hurt Akira like that again; I'll handle you way harsher next time."
