Survival mode

A month has officially passed since the announcement of the Grava Academy tournament. Today, Grava Academy students are gathered at the school's auditorium. All the chairs in the room have been cleared out for the students to stand around the room.

Kage and Unknown have arrived at the auditorium. Kage busts the door to the auditorium open.

"The great Kage has finally arrived!"

Everyone in the room looks at Kage with a face of awkwardness.

"Who the hell is this guy?"

"So cokey."

A small drop of sweat slid down Kage's face.

"I thought we got here early, so I didn't expect so many people to be in here."

Unknown walks past Kage with a face of disappointment.

"We're not here early, dumbass; we got here a full 20 minutes after the time they said to arrive."

"Oh"

Kage and Unknown walk over to Selena and Wayne, who are at the food table, grabbing stuff to eat.

"What's up, Selena and Wayne!"

"Oh, hello, Kage and Unknown; I see you two are doing well!"

"Hi"

Unknown walks up to Wayne with a worried expression on his face.

"Hey Wayne are you actually going to participate in this tournament?"

"You don't have to tell me Unknown. I already had a conversation with Mr.Mink. I know it hasn't been that long since that day, but I'm ready to get back into the action."

"Oh, I guess I shouldn't have said anything. So where's Lex?"

"He's at home watching TV."

"Wait what! You aren't using him in the tournament?"

"Don't get me wrong. I want to have Lex with me. He's the main way I can move around the battlefield so quickly, but Mr.Mink discussed with the principal that it would be unfair for me to have extra help, especially when it's from a powerful beast."

"Oh, I see. I guess I should've guessed that."

"But don't worry; I've spent my time wisely the last month."

Wayne points to the small bag attached to his belt that holds his blade.

"I'm fully prepared to fight without Lex."

"Haha, I don't know why I was so worried! You're a man of ambition!"

Unknown put out his fist for a fist bump.

"Good luck to all of class one!"

"Hehe yeah, class ones on top!"

Wayne receives Unknown's fist bump.

Next to the food table, Kage and Selena are conversing.

"So, Selena, where's Paul?"

Selena points over to the corner of the room, and there Paul has his back on the wall.

"I'm pretty sure he was the first one here."

"Of course he was. I really wonder what he's doing while we're on our adventures. Probably some intense training."

"Hey Kage"

"What's up?"

"Look over there."

Kage looks over to the left of the room, where Selena pointed. There he sees a 5'6 white-skinned girl with long blonde hair. She is wearing tight joggers with a tank top. On top of that is a long black and blue coat that goes all the way to under her knees. Next to her is a 5'4 light-skinned boy with gray hair. He is wearing a small gray tuxedo.

"Yeah, I see them. What about them?"

"The girl is Chika, the number one of class two, and the boy is Filtzes, the number two of class two. Those two are most likely our biggest competition."

"Really? They don't look that tough. What's so great about them?"

"Well, from what I heard, Chika is a strong fighter and was even a strong challenge for Paul during the entrance exams. And Filtzes, I had an encounter with him, and I can tell you right now that his powers are out of this world."

"What's his power?"

"He has the power to..."

"Kage!"

Everybody in the room looks over to where the scream came from, and Seth is standing at the entrance.

"Damn it, he just had to show up now!"

Seth walks over to Kage and Selena.

"So you fake upper-class kids actually showed up!"

"For fucks sake! Give it up, dumbass, you're in class one because that's where you belong!"

"Tch, I'll have you know that for the last month, I have trained to a point where you will never be able to beat me. So you want to say that again, you fool?"

"I think I will! It will be fun showing you how wrong you are!"

While Seth and Kage argue, somebody stomps on Seth's foot.

"Ouch! You dumbass! Do you know how much these shoes cost?"

Seth turns around to look at who stomped on his foot but is shocked by who he sees. Seth sees a 6'2 white-skinned boy with long blonde hair in a ponytail. The man is wearing a white suit that has splashes of gold all over it, and around him is a gold sash that has the name Alexander on it. Seth, seeing this boy, starts to become annoyed.

"Alexander!"

"Yes, that is my name. Don't say it again, or I might have to charge you."

"Shut the hell up! You're going to pay fo—"

As Seth continues speaking, Alexander walks past him to get to Selena.

"What a beautiful girl you are."

"Wait, I know you. You're Alexander, number two of class three, and you're also the son of the second richest person in the world. Wait, what was his name again?"

Alexander extends his index finger toward Selena's mouth.

"Ahh! No need to speak about him right now; let's just focus on us."

Alexander pulls out a rose and puts it in Selena's hair.

"Let's create a long future together."

Selena pulls the flower out of her hair and snaps it into two. With a huge smile on her face, she says, "Never in a hundred years."

"Oh, I see."

Seth grabs Alexander's shoulder, and instantly Alexander slaps his hand.

"Hey, I was talking to you!"

"Please don't put your hands on my clothes. Soon you won't be able to afford to touch me because soon my father will surpass your father in money."

"Hehe, that's nothing but a dream, Alexander."

"hmph"

Alexander pulls out a stack of a hundred dollars from his pocket and throws it in Seth's face.

"Take that money; you might need it soon."

Alexander walks away from the group while laughing. Seth crushes the money in his hand in anger.

"I don't need your money, Alexander!"

Kage and Selena watching this go down look at each other.

"I didn't think it would be possible, but I think we just found a worse version of Seth, and even Seth hates him."

"Yes, Alexander's personality is concerning."

On the auditorium stage, a 6'1 brown-skinned man with brown hair wearing a suit walks onto the stage. The man walks up to the mic on the stage and taps it.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to the first-ever Grava Academy tournament. The person talking to you is Mr. Brown, a lower-class teacher who is also a professional announcer. Now I welcome your principal and teachers."

After Mr.Brown finishes his sentence, the curtains open, and all six top-class teachers, along with the lower-class representatives, are sitting next to each other. Nixon is sitting in the middle of them.

"Now I call our great principal, Nixion, to the stage for words of encouragement."

Nixon gets out of his seat and walks to the mic next to Mr.Brown.

"Hello students today is finally the day of the anticipated tournament, and I don't plan to bore you with long speeches. I just want to say that this tournament is important for your development, so I hope you all took your training seriously. Now for an amazing tournament!"

Nixon walks back to his seat, and as he does, Kage walks over to Unknown and says, "What a boring ass speech; he didn't even say anything!"

"Shh! Mr.Brown is coming back to the mic."

Mr.Brown taps the mic once again and starts speaking.

"Now let's go over the rules of the tournament."

Before he can start talking, the door to the auditorium bursts open. The one at the door is Akira, who is sweating from running.

"I'm so sorry for being late!"

As Akira runs into the room, the other teachers laugh at Mr.Mink while he shakes his head in disappointment. Mr.Brown continues speaking.

"OK, welcome, little girl. Now the tournament rules are simple. No killing, no unauthorized equipment, and no outside help. Does everyone understand?"

The room stays silent.

"Good, now before we have the tournament, we have to do something first."

Ladies in suits start handing each student in the room a small device. The devices have instructions to swallow them.

"We must have a survival round first because there are three hundred students here. How this will work is that we will split all three hundred of you into four groups. Each group will go to a different zone and a certain location in each zone."

Each student swallows the device given to them.

"The device you just swallowed is called a stat bug. When you close your right eye, you will see a stat bar that has a health bar and an OGI tank bar. Each of those bars represents how much of each of those things you have. If any of those bars go below a certain amount, you will be automatically teleported back to this auditorium room. You will have to survive in a certain location for three days. Once you do, you will be teleported back here, and you will be allowed to participate in the actual tournament."

Mr.Brown presses a button on the mic, and a TV comes down from the roof.

"OK, good luck to you all. You'll need it because survival mode starts right now!"

Everyone in the room looks around in confusion.

"What is he talking about?"

"Yeah, don't they have to take us the—"

All of a sudden, every student in the room disappeared without a trace. The TV turns on and has four screens showing different locations.

"Ok, let's see what these kids can do."
