Battle for the dagger???

Three days have passed since the Grava Academy teachers gathered together for their staff meeting regarding Luthor's broadcast. Today is the day class one returns to class, and like usual, Kage and Unknown are running late.

Kage is driving his motorcycle down the road at full speed. Unknown is sitting on the back of the motorcycle.

"You just had to watch TV before we left for school?"

"Shut up, Kage! They were playing it one time today this morning, so I had to watch it this morning!"

"Bro, we aren't living in the 1990s! You can just watch the damn show online!"

"I know you idiot, but I can't watch it in class, so that means I would have to watch it later! And that right there could lead to me getting spoiled before I watch the episode. You know just as well as I do that social media is a landmine for spoilers."

"Then just don't go on social media!"

"I can't!"

"Damn it, you're so annoying!"

Kage and Unknown make it to Grava Academy. Kage quickly parks his motorcycle in a parking spot. Kage and Unknown hop off the motorcycle and start running into the school.

"Pick up the pace Unknown. We're going to be late, and you know how Mr.Mink gets when we're late!"

"I know! I know!"

Kage starts to run faster, and then Unknown starts to run faster. Both of them start to run even faster at the same speed.

Kage and Unknown burst into the door of class one.

"We made it!"

Kage trips over Unknown's foot, and both of them fall to the ground.

"Damn, it Unknown. Watch where you're going!"

"Me, watch where I'm going. I should be telling you that!"

Both of them get up, and when they look at Mr. Mink, they notice something.

"Aye Kage, doesn't Mr.Mink look less cheery today?"

"Yeah, I wonder what's up with him."

In the room, Selena, Akira, and Paul are already sitting in their seats. Kage and Unknown walk to their desk while waving high to everyone. As Unknown sits in his seat, he takes a look over at the seat to the right of him.

"He's still not back yet. I wish I knew where he lived, so maybe I could check up on him and make sure he's okay."

At the front of the classroom, Mr.Mink is sitting at his desk with a lot on his mind.

"What could the principal possibly be thinking with this decision? He knows those lower-class representatives are just working for their selfish gain!"

Mr.Mink starts to think back to the staff meeting three days ago. Mr.Baz has risen from his seat after getting permission from Nixion to suggest what they should do.

"Just like my fellow representatives have said, the way the school runs has always been in favor of the upper classes, but at the lower class's expense. This leaves the lower-class kids to be forgotten with no hope of getting the same attention as the upper-class kids."

Before Mr.Baz could finish speaking, Nixion interrupted him.

"Get to the point, Mr. Baz, we don't have all day."

"Oh right! My solution to this problem is simple. That dagger should go to the class that proves themselves worthy."

The entire room looks at the lower-class representatives in confusion.

"Yes, I know it might not make sense right now, but let me explain. It has been nine months since our last entrance exam, and I'm sure everyone in his room has been teaching our students a whole lot of different things to make them more powerful. This would leave the possibility that our little hierarchy here is outdated."

"I said get to the point."

"Fine, I suggest that we have a tournament with high stakes. This will be a solo tournament, so there will be no teams. There are three hundred students at this school, so clearly some students might have surpassed the people above them. This tournament is a perfect way to update who should be where."

"And what about the dagger?"

"Of course the dagger! We will give it to the class of the winner."

"Hmm"

"Wait, before you think about it, I have one more request."

"???"

"If a lower-class student happens to win, we lower-class representatives get to add our classes to the top classes."

"That's a pretty big thing you're asking for, Mr.Baz."

"Yes, I know, but just think about it, principal; this could be a big event. We could put flyers all around the city. It could be a staple in Grava Academy history!"

Mr.Mink swiftly raises his hand after fully hearing Mr. Baz's idea.

"Please Mr.Mink I must say something."

"You may speak, Mr.Mink."

"This idea is completely unnecessary and is obviously influenced by alternative motives. That dagger right there was found fair and square by my students, who risked everything to get it. Let's say my class lost. Giving a dagger to somebody who didn't find it on their own would be dirt thrown in those kids' faces!"

Mrs.Iris adds to Mr.Minks's statement.

"I agree with Mr.Mink on this one. As much as I would like to prove my class is the best, having such an important item as an award is completely unfair to those who truly found it."

Mr.Alex also adds to the conversation.

"Exactly if you want to hold a tournament over a dagger, you should go find one on your own, and this whole thing about you getting your own top classes. That request makes it obvious that you just want to better yourselves. You don't care about the students."

Mr.Strout looks towards Mr.Alex with a face of animosity and starts to think to himself.

"You're still just a damn child! Just because you somehow became a higher-ranked teacher than me doesn't mean shit! Stay in a child's place!"

As everyone argues over what should be done, Mr.Chad falls asleep, and Mrs.Nova says, "What a waste of time." Mrs.Doja gets up.

"Rahhh!"

Everyone instantly looks at Mrs.Doja with a weird expression on their face.

"Finally, you idiots stopped yelling, and now I can say what I want to say! This tournament is an amazing idea. Who cares who found what? Our students get to fight on the big stage; what can be so bad about that? Plus, at the end of the day, the principal decides what we are going to do."

Everyone in the room looks over at Nixion in anticipation of his decision.

"I have made my decision, and Grava Academy will have this tournament."

Mr.Mink is shocked after hearing Nixion's decision.

"Wait, Principal, you can't be serious."

Nixon calmly looks over to Mr.Mink.

"You said it yourself, Mr. Mink, a storm is coming, and with the current revelations, I believe the storm has already started. Those kids will need to become more powerful if we even have a chance to survive."

Mr.Mink clenches his fist and sits back down in his seat.

"Yes sir."

The lower-class representatives smiled after hearing Nixion's decision.

Mr.Mink stops thinking about the meeting and starts thinking about something else.

"I understand that the kids need to get stronger, but is this really the way to go? Not only that, but there's so much that could be done right now. Luthor might still be out there. Going after him seems like a more reasonable approach to this situation. Well, nothing I can do about it now."

Mr.Mink gets up and walks to the front of the class.

"OK class I have information to tell you today, so listen up."

Before Mr.Mink can start talking, the door to the class opens. Everybody looks at the door to see who it is. The person who walks into the classroom is Wayne, who is now wearing a black long-sleeve shirt with cargo pants and boots. With Lex sitting on his shoulder, Wayne walks to his seat next to Unknown.

"Sorry, I'm late, Mr.Mink."

"No, it's fine, Wayne. I'm just glad you're finally back in our class."

"Yeah, I'm glad to be back."

"How have you been, Wayne? I haven't seen you in a while."

"I'm doing better now, but please, Mr. Mink, you don't have to focus on me; you can just continue the class."

"Of course!"

As Mr.Mink turns around to start the class, Unknown looks at Wayne.

"Hey Wayne I see you're doing well."

"Yes, I had a lot of time to myself. A lot of time to get my feelings sorted out."

Wayne starts to think about his battle with Hunter and his failure to protect his family.

"I am stronger now, and I will keep training until I'm strong enough to kill him."

As Wayne thinks to himself, Unknown looks at his head and notices the huge scar on Wayne's head.

"Wait, did he get that scar from the battle with Hunter? It must have appeared after you fully healed."

"OK, class, like I was saying before, I have some important news to tell you today."

Mr.Mink tells class one about the tournament Grava Academy is planning to have and the award for it."

After hearing this, Kage is the first one to react.

"Wait a minute, Mr. Mink, this is some bullshit! We found that dagger first, so why the hell should we have to fight for something we already earned?"

"Calm down, Kage!"

"No Unknown! You know, just as well as I do, this is some BS!"

Mr.Mink answers Kage's question.

"The principal believes this tournament will be beneficial for every student here, and he also believes the school will look better if we hold a broadcast of this tournament."

Paul raises his hand, and Mr.Mink points to him.

"Yes, Paul, do you have something to add?"

"You said the dagger goes to whichever class the winner is in, right?".

"Umm yes"

"Then it's fine; I'll just win the tournament and get the dagger our class so rightfully deserves, even if it's the last thing I do!"

Everyone looks at Paul in shock after hearing his statement.

"You all are forgetting that we are class one! If none of us can win this tournament, then we don't deserve that title."

Selena adds to the conversation as well.

"I must agree with Paul. It is sad that we are being forced to fight for something that obviously belongs to us, but we are class one. Instead of complaining about something we can't fix, we will just win this tournament and take the dagger back."

When Selena finishes speaking, Akira thinks to herself.

"No! No! No! If this is a tournament involving the whole school, then that means I have to compete with—"

"You shouldn't be thinking of that right now, Akira; it only makes you less efficient."

"Oh right, I guess you're right."

Mr.Mink continues talking about the tournament.

"The tournament will be held in two months, giving you all a lot of time to train. Also remember, that this is a singular tournament, which means everyone will be fighting on their own. So there will be a chance that you might have to fight each other. Just something to keep in mind. I have already taught four of you the importance of OGI control. Take my teachings to heart and get stronger for the tournament. If you ever need help with your training, contact me. Class dismissed!"

The second class ends. Kage grabs Unknown by the arm and pulls him out of his seat.

"Wait, what is it, Kage?"

"You should already know, Unknown, we are going to train our asses off!"
