Of All the People

Galen pinched the bridge of his nose and shut his eyes tight, wearing the look of utter disbelief. "Of all the people in the world! Really, Rosie, him? Is this because he saved you a few times?"

"It's not that, I mean, maybe that's part of it." I bit my inner cheek, contemplating. "But there's something else. I can't explain why I'm so attracted to him. It's a feeling I can't describe."

"Goddess, whatever that is, you have to stop it now." His gaze cut toward Ras, who was having a cheerful conversation with the other Ravens. "I can understand why you would be 'attracted' to him, but keep it that way. Don't let it go any further. Let it be a childish, shallow attraction that will not last."

I sighed. "Is it truly so bad?"

Sympathy glazed his golden pupils. "Trust me, it is. You're the eldest princess of Orion. Above anything else, it is your duty not to be overcome by trivial feelings."
