Nix (V) - MATURE WARNING !!!!

"It's alright son, this is all for your own good." She said.

Simuel returned her cruel words and smile with a face twisted in agony and wet cheeks, the stream of tears unending.

As he looked back at the person he once called mother, there was fear in his eyes, but there was also pure hatred, the kind a boy so young shouldn't yet know.

Little Simuel couldn't understand why this was happening to him, what had he done so wrong that warranted this treatment.

Having experienced this kind of pain before, he started to believe that this basement was his own personal hell.

The little boy, despite being in excruciating pain, never cried out, and never screamed, the fighting spirit inside of him not letting him.

When the woman noticed this silence, only broken by the sizzling sound of the hot metal on his flesh, the smile on her face grew wider and she gave the man the signal to increase the pain.

With each increase, the little boy's aura grew stronger, and both Nix and I could see the faint light permeating throughout his body. His body endured the pain for longer than most would, but the last increase was too much for the small boy, and at last he slipped out of consciousness.

I could feel the relief in my body when they stopped, but it was punctuated by anger. What kind of sick bastard does this to their son?

A small relief was that she was clearly wasn't doing this for fun, but nonetheless, that failed to excuse the deplorable actions she committed against this boy, even if the dials weren't turned by her own hand.

The room had gone completely quiet for a second and the man who had been torturing Simuel for the past thirty minutes, unbuckled the contraptions that were holding him down.

"Pick up my son. Since he endured his training well, he will be rewarded with some sweets. Hopefully by the end of this month, his power will grow stronger and his father will finally take notice of him."

He spoke of this training as if it were riding a bicycle and not brutal torture.

She looked at her son one last time, before heading up the stairs.

The man, who bore a scar on his left eye, looked at Simuel for a couple of seconds.

As I got closer to the man, I could see a faint emotion in his eyes. One that you wouldn't expect from a man who had just tormented a three-year-old boy with no remorse.

It almost resembled pity. I couldn't help the anger that was threatening to burst out of my chest. How dare you look at him with pity? He doesn't deserve your pity at all, I thought.

The man then gently picked up Simuel and held him in his arms. He placed his palm on his forehead where a faint red light could be seen covering his hands.

He spoke a chant of sorts and immediately after that Simuel's body, that had been tense despite being unconscious, relaxed. He proceeded to carry the boy out of the basement.

The air that had previously seemed so heavy, was all of a sudden, light. I turned to face Nix, hoping that he had witnessed everything that had just happened and could make more sense of it than I could.

For the first time ever, I couldn't figure out what had just transpired before me.

Nix stared at the boy's blank face for a while, unable to figure out what he was thinking or feeling.

"He has quite the ability to mask his emotions, and at such a young age." He thought to himself.

Well that was to be expected from a Grey.

They were known for their calm composure despite the situation.

But what surprised Nix the most, was the fact that this six-year-old boy could keep such a stone cold face after what he had just seen. He witnessed his own body, his own self being tortured in such a cruel way, by his mother at that.

How is he not scared, or freaking out at all?!

Nix made a decision, they couldn't stay here any longer.

Time was running out and they couldn't afford to waste any more of it.

At least they were able to get some clue of who the perpetrators were. What they needed to figure out was the identity of the man, so that they could completely nullify his powers.

Igraine has the ability to do so, but it would require great power, which she didn't have a lot of at the moment. But for now, since I was able to uncover his memories of the past, the flashback of the man's abilities won't affect Simuel's body as much as it used to. The problem is being able to explain all of this to his father. Sigh, I can already feel a headache coming in.

Luckily I made sure to record all of this mentally.

Nix grabbed Simuel by the shoulder's. "We are leaving this place, I can already feel my powers growing weaker, we've been in here for too long. We have to go." He looked at Simuel with urgency.

Simuel snapped out of his daze, and nodded his head. Nix then closed his eyes and chanted quickly under his breath.

The both of them were transported out of the recollection. When Simuel woke up, he was back inside Ms. Levinseon's lab.

There were several people surrounding him. When he opened his eyes, Donellan, who had been anxiously waiting on the side, made his way to his son and touched the top of his head.

I could tell that Donellan was trying to mask his look of worry off his face, but after being close to him for this long, he couldn't really fool me.

I couldn't help but smile at him.

"I'm back, daddy."

This is technically the end of the 5 part chapter, but the "arc" ends officially in the next 2 chapters. Sorry for the confusion.
