feel terrible about what just happened.

Our date was going so well.

Amelia's not out to her family yet. I should've been more careful.

So stupid. I kissed her, in a crowded place.

Her sister and Adrian waked and saw everything.

I should call her.

I dial her number, it rings, the second and the third time.

Maybe I should stop by her house.. Wait no, bad idea.

My phone rings, it's Adrian.

"Jess, what the hell? You and Melissa's sister?"

"calm down, I'm almost at home, we'll talk when I get there"

I get home and Adrian looks so pissed.

"seriously Jess! First Audrey is getting with Jordan and now you're hooking up with my girlfriend's sister?"

"it's not like that, first of all Amelia and I literally only hung out for the first time yesterday and secondly this wasn't something that's been happening behind your back, I've known she was was Melissa's sister for a while now, did I try anything then? No. And belive me I could've"

He doesn't look at me, Audrey walks in, probably because of the yelling.

"Adrian you need to chill, you don't get to control who we like or who we're with"

He is fucking fuming.

"so you're both telling me that's it's purely coincidental that you're both into people that are also close to people who I know"

"fuck sakes Adrian! Have you maybe thought that this has nothing to do with you!"

"Amelia's family doesn't know she's gay and you and Melissa saw, how'd do you think she feels"

I need to get out of  here before I murder him

"Jess, I - I didn't know alright"

Audrey chimes in. "yeah of course you didn't because you don't consider anyone else's feelings but your own"

I drive to Emma's bookstore and decide to chill with her for a bit.

I tell her what happened.

"Jess, that's so heavy, you ready to deal with this kinda mess? I mean after everything that happened with Lisa, I know it's been just over a year now since, you know and I-"

"I know you care about me but she's not like that. I mean she's a straight A student, med school, the only thing about her is that her family doesn't know she's gay, that's it."

Emma smiles at me. "yeah and she seems so sweet as well, just promise me one thing, take it slow okay? Don't rush, take your time, you've been through so much"

"I promise".
