Red Envelope

"Madam Life, here are the records of leave of the children. The blue envelope contains documents of those who are currently alive. The red envelope contains documents for those who unfortunately died or are missing."

Madam Life opened the red envelope first. There are 10 leaves of white paper in it. She closed her eyes, reached out for the stack of paper, but somehow stopped from picking it up. The tremble of her arms can't be hidden and her eyes, despite being closed, have a streak of tears falling from them. After a minute, she opened her eyes and slowly pulled out the documents.

On the paper, the identity record of a child is written. A small red sticker is glued on the top-left corner of it with the word 'missing'. Madam Life sighed with little relief. An index card is stapled on the top-right corner. Madam Life hurriedly read it.

"Roanna Life. Caught in the abduction of 'Virgin Seller Pirate' on the periphery of Kitty Ancient Island. Date of abduction: 13th day of 2nd month."

'It's just yesterday! I will fucking storm the guild master after this!'

She pulled off the index card and flipped to the next paper hurriedly.

"Jason Life. Died in the beast tide in the City of Fishman. Date of death: 5th day of 2nd month"

Despite her hands trembling, she continued to flip, not wasting even seconds.

"Rayah Agerson. Died in the beast tide in the city of Fishman. Date of death: 5th day of 2nd month.'

She continued on flipping until she got on the last page. All except the first paper are cases of death. She hopes that the last one is only missing.

"Joshua Knife. Caught in the abduction of 'Men Loving Pirate'. Was seen getting auctioned at an underground slave market. He killed himself with his skill 'Knife body' after seeing his muscular gay buyer. A knife suddenly protruded from inside-out of his body. Date of death: 1st day of 2nd month"

After flipping through the whole documents, Madam Life get up from her chair and shouted.

"Klein! I'm leaving! Protect my kids at all cost!"

"Yes, Madam!"

Madam Life's eyes suddenly glowed light-green, a flying carpet materialized in front of her floating in the air. She jumped on top of it and positioned herself in a surfing manner.

"Rakan!"

Her body suddenly glowed white and she seemingly vanished from her current spot passing through walls on her ride.

After just a minute, Madam Life, looking haggard with her tattered clothes and has her hair all messy on her back, arrived in the Guild quarter.

"Squid! Get your ass here!"

The stairs made of wood in the guild suddenly rang noisily as someone can be seen rushing downstairs.

"You rescued my child!?"

While on his knees, the guild master answered instantly.

"Madam, my elite crew is on their way, please don't kill me! I had my members protect the border on the east as requested by the palace to repel the water creatures from their invasion! I really didn't have any choice!"

"Fuck! Roanna is just 17! We agreed that your guild will protect my children until their 18! Forget it! Where are the shitty pirates?"

"N-north Madam. My crew immediately set off at dawn after the conclusion of war yesterday. They should be there by n-now. Y-yes, it's already one hour after their departure."

Madam Life did not wait. While still hovering in the air, she immediately set off.
